It’s been a couple months now since we went here, but wanted to make sure our experience was documented. We were in the area on vacation late for our intended lunch destination, and everyone was getting hungry. So, we found the Dairy Kone. Don’t be scared off by the knock off name or the ghost-town-like exterior. It’s not a Dairy Queen impostor or a dump. The interior is decent with several humorous quips on the wall, a vintage menu board with pricing from the early ’60’s, and the water glasses are canning jars. And the food was o.k. I had a sandwich(can’t remember the name now) that had fried breaded pork(hey, it’s Iowa!). It was pretty good. Didn’t have any ice cream but it sure did look good.
