Update– this place had a owner change from my last review. Everything is so darn good here with the exception of their coffee and pizza. Their baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and lunch items is fantastic!

I have been to Alpine Bakery several times and have always had great experiences. I usually go for bagels and and donuts which are delicious! I recently stopped in over the weekend and picked up some desserts. Their cannoli’s were amazing! Great place all around!

The bread is fantastic! My mom loves apple turnovers. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Home made meatballs are very good! The cookies are the best!

I was saddened when I went here. I took my MIL and SIL bc they love bakeries and we were on vacation. I am in a interracial marriage so i figure the first time the owner said she couldn’t help me though she was helping my family was bc she hadn’t realized we were together. We were the only ones in the bakery, I let it go. My MIL had ordered items to be picked up the next morning so all the ladies of our group went together as a cute little outting when they first opened up. Again the owner said she couldn’t help me this time i was standing next to my MIL at the register, I was the one paying and we were all loudly discussing what else we should order as i was ordering for my SILs who are very shy. I expressed that we were together– still being the only ones in the bakery and the owner passed us to another lady working in the shop. I let my MIL get what she had previously ordered but we didn’t buy anything else that day or any other day of our trip. Its a shame in this day and age to treat people this way.

Great place. The ladies that served us were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I had the heart attack sandwich. Delicious.

I just received a reply from the snot from Manhattan that said that I’m an idiot. Well, since I am a doctor and speak several languages I would beg to differ. Obviously this lady does not know what real apfelstrudel should taste like and has not had the opportunity to travel to the region as much as I have(I am also part German-American). The strudel is authentic and very much like what you will find in Bavaria and the Tirol. Alpine ist gut!

Awful, maybe it’s because I’m from New York but I don’t think so. They never have much and what they do have leaves a lot to be desired. I’d save my money and the worst you can bake will be better then their best!

Stayed in a vacation rental in the area for a Bday retreat and realized we couldn’t schlep the cake all the way from NYC. Ordered the cake over the phone and hoped it would work out. It worked out. The cake tasted great, had the message I wanted on it, and was cheaper than a Mexican divorce. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Danish rings are to die for! Everyone has been nice and if you get there towards the end of the day and are lucky you will leave with some freebies. Can’t wait to try one of their cakes. I’m kinda picky about my chocolate cake and it seems this baker uses some spice that tastes like pepper to me. Don’t like that but their white cake would be the way to go… for me.

Asked for an «over-the-top» birthday cake and was told, «Well, we can put flowers on it???» I was then reminded that this is the Poconos, not Manhattan, nor Ace of Cakes. BUT, after a pleasant email exchange with the Cake Designer, Carol, I was blown away when I finally picked up the cake. It was better than I imagined. Picture this: a cake, frosted white, with sparkling sugar to look like snow. It had a 4″ tall mountain on top featuring plastic skiiers, snowmen, snowmobiles and trees, completely setting the picturesque scene of our Poconos ski trip. They even through in my college logo since I was with college friends. Taste: Vanilla cake with strawberry filling and buttercream topping. Simply delicious. Incredible cake. Fed 18 people. Beautiful design. $ 26. PRICELESS. If I ever need a cake in the middle of nowhere PA again, I’m calling Alpine Bakery!

Mama Mia a bakery in the Pocono’s how delicious! The poppy seed rolls I tired were scrumptious, but I’d pass on the cupcakes that tasted like they came from Albertsons. Also do try the black & white cookie. «look to the cookie»
