Jim Thorpe is a neat town in a beautiful location. How unfortunate that this junk closet is taking up space that could be better used as a cozy coffee shop. I have nothing against quirky, kitschy little shops, but this place is simply too cramped, cluttered and disorganized to merit your time. There was nothing inviting about this store, nothing to piqué one’s curiosity to explore the meager selection of merchandise. Best of luck to you if you seek assistance from the proprietor. He was stoned out of his gourd during my visit and could barely form a coherent sentence. This novel approach to customer relations didn’t work for me. I expect that I’ll come back to Jim Thorpe down the road. A visit to Save the Robots definitely will not be on my agenda.

Holy bong water, what a mess! The owner AND the store. Tiny, cramped garage space, the dreadlocked owner taking himself way too seriously as he showed us the used kitsch, yet using terms like«Danish ultra modern» and«machine age». HUH? I mean no offense, seriously, but everything here looks like it came out of great Aunt Shirley’s attic. Nothing seemingly new, most everything appearing as though it were used and the owner seemingly baked on whatever was permeating the air in and around the tiny, tiny little shop; He was disengaged and clearly on another plain of existence. I like my campy kitsch shops high on camp & nostalgia and low on the pretentiousness. It’s a 1960s lamp Mary, not high art from the Warhol collection.
