Played on April 122015. Short course, plays 6100 from the tips, great layout, tight/shot makers course and beautiful views atop the highland rim(aptly named). The course recently changed their greens from Bent to a Bermuda hybrid grass and it is taking a little while to grow in, 8 out of the 18 greens have a lot of bumps and patch work(1 – 7 and 13). However, the greens seem to be steadily improving in overall growth and coverage. It may take until mid or late summer or maybe next year to fully recover and gain their speed again. Fairways are lush when mowed. I payed $ 30 on a weekend and was told I could play as many holes as I wanted. Not a crowded course. We played in a twosome and was able to play 36 holes in 6 hours! Great GPS app that you can download on your smart phone and it never broke down and provided accurate distances, comes in handy. Great experience, I just hope they give the greens a little tender loving care and this course will be a hidden gem! 20 min outside of Nashville.

This is a beautiful course, my husband and I have played it twice now. I am not the greatest golfer but I can keep up pretty well here; even if I couldn’t the scenery would all be worth it. It works it’s way through Tennessee hills and small bluffs, and it’s very fair price makes it worth the drive out here. The clubhouse is a little older and the bathroom facility isn’t the best kept. The thing that I don’t really like is that you don’t end up back at the club house after the 9th. There’s no hot dog and beer refill at the turn, so bring snacks. Otherwise, I really like this course and I know we’ll be back to play again.

Highland Rim is a short nine mile drive outside Nashville along I-24 to mile 31. I checked out this hidden gem for the first time last weekend. I was skeptical of all the wonderful reviews I read given such a reasonable price, but there was no need. The course is beautiful, and the GPS equipped carts are fantastic. They will show you a fly over of the hole(well-needed given the bluffs the course plays through and blind fairways), plus give you approach distances to front/middle/back of each green and how many yards to clear bunker and water hazards. The tee boxes are flat, the fairways tight, and bunkers well maintained. I love that the tees are not colored in the traditional sense but randomly colored and have an associated distance — this is something«While We’re Young» is pushing for to speed up the pace of play and I think it’s wonderful and is great to see implemented. Something I found odd however was the distances from these tees on individual holes. We played the second to last tees, which had great par 5 distances of about 500 yards and longer par 3s at just under 200 yards, but many par 4s were just over 300 yards which is just too short for a par 4. The other downside is the greens. They have recently replaced their greens with Bermuda Grass and it’s still growing in(i.e., very uneven green surfaces). Give it some time, and this will be one of the nicest courses for the price in the Nashville area. The service is great, and the gentleman working when we played gave us a special discount because of the green condition. Could not ask for more. I will certainly be back and would recommend this course to anyone.

Gorgeous course!!! Super cool GPS golf carts that tells you the best approach for each hole, as well as showing you where other golfers carts are located near you! Great practicing area with an excellent chipping/putting green and range. The views are AMAZING!!! **Tip: Call ahead for a tee time on nice days, it was a little crowded because of a scramble going on, but still had a blast!
