This restaurant is so delicious. I went to visit it because there was a discount on ScoutMob, thought the menu looked delicious and decently priced. The complimentary chips and bean dip is DELICIOUS. I could’ve eaten that for my meal alone. I had the salmon with risotto, which was amazing. Had such great flavor. While my friend had the chef’s appetizer trio. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff, albeit a little slow, was friendly. I will definitely be back.

While the food is good and service is friendly, the speed of service was too slow … and there were only 3 tables of customers. Oh and don’t get salmon if you’re super hungry b/c the salmon apparently takes the longest to prepare: for our table and the table next to us(both with parties of 3), rather than wait and bring out everyone’s food at the same time, the server brought out the food for the other 2 people, and the person who ordered salmon had to wait another 15 minutes. Yep, I ordered salmon and so did the professor-looking guy next to us. Thankfully my parents were kind enough to let me nibble on their food. COMPLIMENTARYCHIPS W/BLACK BEANSAUCE Chips were good but super salty — the black bean sauce was very tasty. LEMONCRABCROQUETTES — $ 9 These apps were yummy and a combo of cheesy and creamy goodness inside. An order comes w/4 pieces, and served w/a pineapple chili jelly. One of our server’s favorites — good call, and probably best dish of the evening. PAN-SEAREDSALMON — $ 19 The only downside was that the salmon took forever to arrive. Otherwise it was a generous thick piece(enough for 2 meals), and served w/Roqueijao risotto(good) and grilled asparagus(ok). Server had recommended this dish. SEAFOODPAELLA — $ 19 Pretty bland — very disappointed esp. since this was another server favorite. It had saffron rice, jumbo shrimp, scallops(but tiny, chopped, and barely seen), mussels(ok), veggies(bell peppers, asparagus, green beans, tomatoes), and fresh herbs. SURF&TURF — $ 19 Beef shoulder tenderloin(dry even though we ordered«medium») w/pineapple chimichurri, fried shrimp(good but very very deep fried), jalapeño mashed potatoes(probably the best part), and a plantain. Overall 3 stars but really hoped for a 4-star experience esp. after reading everyone’s positive reviews. I got excited too when I saw the packed parking lot but learned all the cars were there for Pampas Steakhouse. I ended up having to park in the shopping center next door. Thanks to Scoutmob for introducing us to another new place but regretfully, not worth the long drive nor the long wait for our food.

The food at Tasca was 5 star. I had the salmon over rosiotto and I am still having dreams about it this morning. My sister ended up having the baked chicken with rice which was also amazing, although it looked like a simple dish. The rice in both dishes was fantastic but my salmon really made the meal. Cooked to perfection and spiced in just the right way, it really gave the meal an authentic latin feel. The chips they bring out for an appetizer were warm and instead of boring salsa they came with a bean dip… amazing! We went on a Tuesday and the place was very quiet. The set up is also a little strange(beautifully set tables but very plain walls). The portions were smaller than usual but I was happily full when I left. Will be back here again!

Decided to give this place a try based on a Scoutmob coupon and we were more than impressed! I had the Seafood Paella and my wife had the citrus braised pulled pork. 2 thumbs up! We will be back!

Fantastic place! It is a hidden gem for those of us who live inside the perimeter and dont venture too often outside the boundaries. We went here on a Friday night; coincidentally they had the live Latin musician playing traditional music, which was very romantic. We received great amount of attention from our waiter, as well as one of the owners(as we believed). While waiting for our order, our waiter brought us a brazilian magic box and challenged us to open it. After struggling for 20 minutes, I gave up, but my girlfriend managed to open it and was rewarded with a free appetizer voucher for the next time :) We had 3 tapas — scallop ceviche, beef chuzos and citrus pork taquitos, and a colombian chocolate cake at the end. Everything tasted great. Our waiter saw that the portion of chuzos brought to us was small, so he went back and asked the chef to bring another portion(all without us saying a single word!). Along with the dessert, I requested for café cubano, which they did not have on the menu. The waiter went back and did his best to prepare one(kudos). I definitely be back to sample more of the offerings.

This is one of those places which you stumble upon and leave with a good taste in your mouth. Wife and I had an unplanned dinner date and this resto was in one of the instant deal discount sites AND only 5 mi from home. Expecting a Friday night crowd, we came in around 7.30p. Parking lot was packed but I guess the crowd was for the more upscale Pampas steakhouse. We were seated quickly needless to say amid the live music of the very talented house performer. THEFOOD All ratings are out of 5. We tried the house sangrias(3.8), duck and mushroom quesadillas(4.2), crab croquetas(4.6) and had the seafood paella(4.0). The croquetas tapas are the bomb!– crunchy, creamy bit, but a tad small leaving you wanting for more. Paella was not mind blowing but it was good for the price, taste and portion size. I need to try mambo’s version though! The rest of the food was fairly good and really nothing major to complain about. Service was awesome considering the place was only a third full. We were kind of expecting to get the tortilla chips for starters but I guess they either forgot or it is not served(for free) unless ordered. Overall, our date night started out right. Good food, cozy ambience, we will definitely be back. Now where’s my croquetas?

I tried Tasca as it was the only Scoutmob I had for the Johns Creek area. Great choice– we went on a Wednesday night so it was about 1⁄3 full, but attentive service and the chef came out to check on us once as well. I loved the décor– would be very romantic for a date night, and I saw a little stage in the corner so I assume they have live music at times. They start you out with tortilla chips with a delicious seasoning and a bowl of black bean dip, but creamy deliciousness that feels very high-class– this is not your microwave black bean dip to eat with Fritos, no no. It was almost like a black bean soup– very delicious. I was tempted by several tapas items but went with an entrée– Bobo de Camarao, I think it was called. It was delicious and beautifully presented– lots of good-sized shrimp in a coconutty sauce around white rice. It’s supposed to be a traditional Brazilian dish. My friend ordered the Citrus Braised Pulled Pork which came with mashed potatoes, pico de gallo, and tortilla strips. Don’t think of a glop of potatoes on the side of some meat– this thing looked spectacular. We both took pictures even. It tasted delicious– mine was really good but I think I would order the pork next time as it’s flavor was so unusual. Side dish of maduros(sweet plantain) was also delish.

Have eaten here twice. Felt it was overpriced the first time around. Gave the restaurant a second chance. The appetizers were actually pretty decent, but $ 6 for a small cup of corn soup was still too expensive for what it was. I had the absolute worse paella here. The mussels made all of us sick but I was lucky enough to spit it out in my towel. $ 17 for greasy fried rice with pretty nasty seafood and small portions is not the way to go.

When Scoutmob emailed me a coupon, I was very excited when I saw paella and feijoada listed on the menu sampler. This site was once another Latin restaurant, and right next door to Pampas. The interior had been redecorated in colors familiar to my eyes. My wife and I hosted two Brazilian exchange students in 1993 and 1995, and have been to Brazil five times for extended visits. We love the people of Brazil, and their multifaceted culture, rich with Latin, Italian, Portugeuse, German, Russian, Polish, and Japanese flavors. Back to Tasca. Wife and I shared a palmito salad, which was generous in size and ingredients and absolutely delicious. She ordered a Beef Tenderloin braised in wine sauce, and I popped for the Seafood Paella. Both plates came out artfully presented, and she was very pleased with hers. My Paella had mussels, bay scallops, shrimp, asparagus, carrot slivers, green beans, and saffron rice. I wish it was a little more strongly nuanced with aglio and saffron, but this lighter version is probably best for most tastes. The dessert portion of flan was excellent and absolutely authentic. The main reason Tasca gets 4 stars is their stellar and friendly staff. We met the owner, who grew up in Sao Paulo, and had a nice chat. He intends to have special Brazilian cuisine nights for customers on his email list, featuring feijoada(national dish of Brazil), pao de quiejo, moqueca capixiba, and bisteca. Caipirinha will be offered among the alcoholic beverages. I signed up, and am looking forward to the festa.

Very happy. Nice duck and wild mushroom quesadilla. I like the seafood in quality and quantity better in the paella at Mambo’s Café, but the saffron rice was outstanding here. If you think rice makes the dish, it’s even better than Mambo’s. I will be back for more.

This place recently opened and I checked it out on with two girlfriends. Half of the menu is tapas and we decided to just stick with that. The other half is latin american dishes. They have a nice open space with lots of dark wood. They serve wine, sangria and sake-tinis and beer, but no cocktails since they can’t serve hard liquor. I heard the chef here used to work at Sia’s, which I loved, so I was glad to sample a few tapas that seem to be exact copies of some of my favorite Sia’s appetizers. The fav’s of what we tried were: the lemon cream cheese fritters with jalapeño jelly and the flash fried oysters. The duck and mushroom quesadilla, steak skewers and shrimp skewers were all pretty good. I was not a fan of the taquitos but my two friends liked them fine… they were really half tacos, and the meat had some allspice or cloves that I just didn’t really care for. Two of us tried the corn soup which we both loved… creamy, but not overly heavy or thick, and spicy and bit sweet. Delish. We also had the sangria which was fine. We ended up spending $ 30 before tip a person since each tapa was about $ 9 for 3 pieces.
