You wouldn’t be able to tell from the outside of this place, but they have some of the best fried chicken that I’ve had in Charleston! I had a chicken thigh and a drumstick and they were both delicious, with crispy, flavorful skin. The potato wedges that came with the chicken were seasoned well and also nice and crispy. I tried the pizza stick, which was okay, but tasted just like it was something that was frozen and heated up. I also got a turkey leg, which I thought was a unique offering on the menu. It was tasty and reminded me of the ones I get at the fair! Overall, I would definitely go back for the fried chicken.

OMG, I am amazed anyone would give this place a 5 stars let alone 2 stars. The chicken is absolutely dry with thick breading. Worst fried chicken I have ever had… And I mean that… hands down the worst. What came to mind with my 8 peices of awful chicken was a mummified chicken in tons of breaded batter. Many people only care about the batter and skin so that must be what happening with those reviews, but what about the dry mummified corpse chicken below? I am ashamed that in the South people gave this a thumbs up. It’s the South for crying out loud! But this chicken is cheap and fills you up with the covered up floury skin. A place called Chicken Holiday in NJ is still my favorite but down here(been here for 20 years now) believe it or not Publix has the best friend chicken I have found so far… and I do search. The best wings are Hubee D’s. But the chicken at Dodges was plain disgusting, bone dry(rip away some of the overly breaded peanut oil skin) and«meh» taste… the skin that is… the chicken itself was awful.

Say what you well about gas station food, but this place rocks! They serve up some of the best fried chicken around, minus my mother’s of course. They have wings, smoked turkey legs, corn dogs and some of the best breakfast biscuits around. Stop there. You will not be disappointed!

Dodge’s is the place to go for fried chicken and Jojo’s!(Fried potato wedges) The prices for the food are very reasonable. Of course, this is also a great spot to grab gas and any other convenience items. For a quick(unhealthy meal), Dodge’s is the place to go!

The first, time I, drove up to Dodge Chicken, I said«yea, right». How can an old Gas Station serve anything that might be even close to good chicken. Well, everyone told me that this is the best chicken around. So, I’ll try anything once. Believe me when I tell you, it is a must if you love chicken. You must get there when the chicken just comes out, wow, the taste is to die for. I have been there many times, and have taken friends there, who also said ‘what’, but they too were convinced. This place is always busy. Next door is a KFC… I’ve never seen them busy. What does that tell you? Frank G

This is a gas station… However we were delighted to see pressure fryers when we walked in. We ordered the mixed basket and got a sampling of wings, breast, drumsticks, and thighs. They had a special on oven baked macaroni and rolls so we got both. The«oven baked macaroni» was good it was just prepackaged crate and barrel. but not bad– the rolls were nothing special. The fried chicken crust was amazing, super flavorful and crispy. The meat however was all mostly dried out, but that could have been a fluke. Overall great fried chicken, just make or find your own sides.
