the shithole, i mean loophole, went there on a tuesday night to meet a girl for drinks, kinda out of the way and near her house so It was perfect, nice bartender but guy didn’t really give 2 shits about me or my service because i wasn’t a girl and didn’t have tits(can’t blame him, i would prolly be the same way) keep it 100 good looking girls working, only downside is there is rando sketchy people hanging out outside in the parking lot kinda walking around… i mean if you are doing dirt i don’t judge just don’t make it so sketchy and obvious, my car was broken into and my medication was stolen that i really need. luckily i have cameras on my car and got a video picture of the person that did it, i won’t make a police report I’m just going to show up again and hope i see the person. if you go def lock your car!!! if they clean up the rando sketch balls lurking outside i think it would be a great fav spot locally

Love the food. Sub par service. Every time I’ve come here I try to give them a second chance because their sushi is delicious. However, not getting any water until I’ve almost finished my meal is sort of ridiculous. Maybe get there early to guarantee better quality service.

I was excited to eat at The Loophole because I had heard the food was good and there were vegetarian options. We were greeted by a flustered staff at the hostess table. After getting to our table outside we ordered our drinks and enjoyed the chill atmosphere before the USA vs Argentina game started. Our appetizer came out without serving plates, but the food was delicious. We waited another few minutes for our entrées thinking we’d be able to eat before moving inside to watch the game. Nope. So we asked to be moved inside. No problem. The table we chose hadn’t been cleared and it took quite some time for it to be cleaned. My boyfriend’s «kid’s pizza» came out first. I was informed my pizza was made incorrectly so it was being remade. 20 minutes!!! later I got the pizza, took a bite and immediately realized(after taking my first bite) that there was still bacon on it that I specifically asked to be left off. Being a vegetarian for 4 years eating a mouthful of bacon was quite unpleasant for me. So I sent that pizza back as well and wanted to order something else off the menu. Our waitress came right back out with the correct pizza saying that she was handed the wrong pizza and was terribly sorry. I heard how sorry she was more than necessary. It wasn’t her fault, but dang. I was starving at this point. The we ordered two beers on tap as we finished watching the soccer game. One we received the check(after waiting and waiting for our waitress) we were flabbergasted at the cost! $ 60 for a mac and cheese app, one pizza on menu, order of 10 wings, a kids pizza and two draft beers??? We were shocked. The beers we $ 9 each. A local draft beer! Needless to say that’s the first and last time I’ll be going to The Loophole. On the bright side, the food was pretty good. Not good enough to wait 45 min for though.

Just called here to order delivery after working a 12 hour shift. I got voicemail the first time I called so I went online to make sure what hours they are open on Sundays. This is what is posted: HOURS 4pm — 2am M — Fri SAT11am-2am /SUN 11am — 12am So, I called back just think that they were busy. Someone(male) actually answered the phone this time saying«Thank you for f******g calling the Loophole». Yes, word for word that is how someone just answered the phone. Too bad because I will now share this experience on EVERYSINGLE review site out there! What absolutely horrible customer service!!!

Went here for the first time this past Wednesday night. We didn’t know that this place even existed and were in the shopping plaza it is housed in and decided to go take a look. So glad we did. Turns out Wednesday night is ladies night! This means you get free edamame and wine is half price and all classic sushi rolls are half price for the ladies. Bargain! My husband and I sat at the bar and were immediately greeted. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The décor in here is really cool. There is a digital draft beer board that lets you know how much of it is left, alcohol by volume etc., really cool. The menu is huge! They seem to serve everything which can sometimes be confusing. Sushi, burgers, salads, sandwiches. We opted for sushi and it was great. Not the best I’ve ever had, but very good. It was very busy in there but service was quick. We had a great night here sitting at the bar. I’ve seen they also deliver, which for Johns Island is great, as no-one delivers here.

Have been wanting to try this place out because I heard the sushi was good and it is the only place I know of on Johns Island that serves it. Although they were slow, I had to grab the attention of a waitress for my party and I to be seated. One of the menus we were given literally had a giant ball of wasabi stuck to it… Not a good first impression. We ordered some sushi rolls and sashimi which took over an hour and 15 minutes to make. Hard to fathom why it takes so long when the place was pretty much empty. The salmon sashimi was uncomfortably warm, and it seemed like it was on the verge of starting to spoil. I couldn’t really detect that unpleasant«fishy» odor that it gives off when it goes bad, but it definitely was not like the fresh sashimi I have had a more reputable and well run restaurants. The rolls themselves were good, but NOT worth the wait time. I understand if they were packed and it took that long for the food to come out, but the place was almost EMPTY except a couple other diners and a handful of people at the bar. Willing to give this place a second chance, and hopefully they wont disappoint like they have for some of the other Unilocal reviewers. If the owners/management are reading this, please improve the efficiency of the kitchen and the service. A buddy of mine warned me not to go here because of that, but had to see for myself. Unfortunately he was right about that.

Took 30 minutes to get nachos. Nachos had a handful of chicken and some ranch dressing and a half a handful of cheese.

Husband and I had a late dinner here last night. Great Sushi. Loved the BOGO half price on sushi rolls. Our server Nicole was awesome. Would definitely recommend this place.

I keep giving The Loophole more chances, but they keep disappointing me. Some nights the food is decent, but most of the time, it’s just meh, and the service leaves a little something to be desired as well. I appreciate that they’re one of the only places on Johns Island to deliver, but my past few deliveries have been luke warm and less than ideal. The other night I stopped in for the first time, and ended up waiting over an hour for the thinnest crust pizza I’ve ever seen. Flavor-wise it was pretty good, but by the time it got to our table, we were so frustrated from having to wait that it was almost not even worth it. The thing that also puts me off about The Loophole is that I placed an order online and that I ended up having to cancel 5 minutes later(for totally unrelated circumstances). I called and they were very understanding. However, my credit card had already been charged, and a week later I noticed it was still on my statement. I called to have them remove the charge and was told that they would leave a message with the owner. A week went by and I never heard from them and the charge was still there. I called again with the same response: «the owner will call you next time he’s in.» I waited another couple of days and finally drove to the physical store and spoke to someone in person. They were really busy, so everyone was super flustered, but one woman took my contact info down and promised she’d take care of it. She called me 2 hours later to say that it had been removed, and it indeed had. However, it shouldn’t have taken 3 weeks and repeated phone calls to remove a $ 30 charge.

I really liked the vibe and décor here. Definitely a cool late night spot. However, having to wait 1hr 15min for a pizza is just inexcusable. We came in at 1030 for the advertised late night menu — pizza and wings. And ordered an Original — sausage, pepperoni and green peppers. After 45min of waiting we were told they dropped our pizza on the floor — «oops! Sorry guys!» They were overly apologetic about it but we were still confused why it would take that long in the first place. We finally got our pizza which was delicious but I’ll probably not be visiting again unless I’m desperate. The staff was so laid back and«friendly» that it came off as unprofessional and off-putting. Disappointing

Let me start by saying that the food is good. The pizza and honey siracha wings, terrific. But if you go take my advice and pay with cash. My issue is with the way the manager handled a very fixable situation. The people who were working the day I went in to pick up my order were all high school students who didn’t understand how to handle these kinds of situations. The girl trying to ring up my order told me my card didn’t work. I knew that wasn’t true but I apologized and handed her a new card. After swiping my card 5+ times she said it wasn’t working ether and ran my card to the kitchen. That made me nervous because I could not see her, after that whole Starbucks scandal you can’t be too careful. A guy came out and helped her. The girl told me not to worry and that my card was only charged once… Went home and guess what? I was charged multiple times! I call right away person on the phone said she was the manager and to give it 24 hours! Next day the actual manager talks to me saying she doesn’t know who I was talking too but it wasn’t her. I give her my number she said she would call me and take care of everything. I never hear back from her again. Loop hole management please get it together because I honestly feel stolen from. All I wanted was a pizza, not to be charged almost 30 dollars!

Pretty awful experience. Food was OK, but otherwise we were not happy. We went early on a Thursday evening, it was not even half full, so we were optimistic. –dirty glasses, so we drank from plastic cups(again, they were NOT that busy) –we got one meal a solid 30 minutes before the rest of the table. –we ordered drinks before we ordered dinner, but got them after. In short, its just another lousy bar trying to be a restaurant and failing. Stick to drinks at the bar.

DELIVERYATTEMPTS– after ordering from the Loophole TWICE and having it delivered… We will never order again. Both times they messed up our order and the first time the 45 min quoted delivery time turned into ONEHOURAND50MINUTES! We believe in giving places second chances… But this was the last time… Their«free app» for the first mess up and«free desert» coupons are going in the trash…

The food is okay but the service is nonexistent. I went there about a week ago and it was tasty. I am giving them another shot as i write this review and I am currently on hold for 20MINUTES! There is no way I am ever going here again. It is obvious that this place won’t make it very long in a city that demands customer service. The management needs to get their shit together. ALL I WANTEDWAS A SIMPLETAKE-OUTORDER!

Well, I will say that the menu looked good and that I was looking forward to my sushi. However, after being seated outside, we waited for over 15 minutes for a server to come and take our drink orders. We obviously chose to order our food at the same time. After another 10 minutes we watched him take the orders of the table next to us, obviously forgotten about our drinks. Enough, we decided to get our food to go at that point so we went in, and then our server informs us that the sushi will be another 30 minutes. What is going on here? Seriously? We speak with the manager who apologies and says«sorry, it’s been a weird week» and gives us a $ 25 voucher. I wasn’t going to come here, as New Moon was a huge let down, but after a good review by the Post and Courier we decided to give this new name a shot for our Friday date night. What a huge let down. I’m writing this review as I heat up some chicken fingers in the oven and grab a beer. Get your act together Loophole.

Where else would you be able to get pizza AND sushi?! Great food, friendly service, fun atmosphere(for families or even for date night). The Alaskan roll is my favorite sushi and the Margerita pizza is excellent! Plus on Wednesday nights … It’s ladies night and ladies get free champagne and edamame! Don’t forget that they deliver too! If you sit outside, they have fans that keep the bugs away! Def go check it out.

Transplant from San Diego and happy to discover this find of a Pub/restaurant just minutes down the beautiful country roads of Johns Island. Everything one is looking for in a great happy hour: Cold local brewskis, light crusted pizza with fresh ingredients, and flavorful burgers. Or if you are a Person and into that type of thing, do the sushi instead; you will be amazed at the portions and the freshness of the seafood. The large dog-friendly outdoor patio offers cool breezes from the fans that are cleverly attached to the trees, and the outdoor lighting makes for a nice ambiance. Plus they sometimes offer music on the deck, and a popular ladies night on Wednesday. The Loophole has it going on! Nice job…

Johns Island is fortunate to have such a enjoyable pizza spot on my favorite of the five Charleston islands. There is no other pizza business in anywhere in the low country that I’m aware of that dishes out hot, not speaking from a oven temperature perspective, and unique heaping portions of fresh ingredients on top of some top knotch crusts. I’m an Italian from New Yawk, I know a good pizza crust when I devour one. From my first time inside, the tap beers were flowing perfectly and the temperature was spot on. Live music being played from a precariously small bartop stand. My friend ordered a meatball sub and it took all of the intestinal fortitude I could muster up, not to reach across the table and strangle him. The hurricane pizza was spicey and would have the traditional Everything pizza pie sticking its head in the sand. Brave and bold in flavor, a place I’ll always return to when possible.

OK, another Bar, but the Pizza is to die for. Small tiny pieces of Pizza is their trademark. Wife and I always get a large, which is perfect for us. The small pieces makes you eat more and faster. Service is a little slow, but get over it. If you are a Bar person, likes Beer and Pizza, go there. Wait for the best Pizza you will eat. Oh yea, thin crust and crispy. Don’t you just hate«soggy» Pizza… Frank G
