BEDBUGS! We arrived after dark and the first thing we noticed was that even with with all the lights on the room was very dark and it was hard to see. What we did see were the carpets were poorly swept, there was trash behind the door and In corners but since it was late, the hotel was full and we had to get up very early we just went to bed. We left early in the morning and again returned late at night. On the final day we slept in and started packing in the daylight with the drapes open. That is when we saw the bed bugs. Some of the bed bug blood stains looked old and washed but a few were new with a couple of the bugs crawling between the sheets. Yuk! The hotel only offered us a discount but as we drove home and counted the time and costs for us to ensure that our possessions and persons would be bug free we felt the discount offered in no way compensated us for our troubles.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. The staff is nice. But, having said that, I don’t feel safe here. Hard beds, crappy 1980’s Décor. Front door doesn’t shut right. Light shines through the crack in the door that leads to the outside, not a hallway. Cigarette smoke clogs up the air. Overall deplorable. They spent all their money on the entrance. After that, downhill.

After a long drive heading up North, we decided to stop here because one of the tires was bulging and tire was getting flat. We stayed at this hotel because it was close to a tire repair shop. Check in with no issues. The room was nice with two bed, large fridge and TV. Issue I had with this hotel was they did not clean the sink area. The last occupant had trim their beard. Short stubbly hair all over the back of the handle, in between the hot and cold water valve as well as in sink basin. Shower was not thoroughly cleaned. Hair in the area where you put the soap. Area in back of bathroom door had strands of hair and not wiped down. Sheets maybe changed for the next occupant but this hotel needs to clean out sink and surrounding counter area as well as shower. This does not constitute as a clean room.

Did not like this hotel very much. It looked like a down in the dumps apartment and there were hairs in the shower… not the best 3 star hotel I’ve been in. I definitely recommend Holiday Inn Express over Best Western…

For the business traveler, this is a diamond in the rough. Got a NS room, wi-fi actually working, big room, large flat screen tv, fridge and microwave, good cable, excellent breakfast, near many, many restaurants and fast food, computer center with 2 computers available, gym, pool, just off interstate 26 courteous and helpful. Oh yeah did I mention on premise bar and restaurant. i believe the room was $ 66.00

Helping my parents move from Virginia to Las Vegas, this was stop number one on our trip. It’s a good 20 minutes east of I-81, but the rates were better than some places I considered in Bristol. Located right off the 26, there’s easy access to and from the highway. It’s an older hotel that shows its wear and tear. The room wasn’t bad with its modern décor, 2 queen beds, TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. The bathroom could use a renovation or at least a deep cleaning(the grout looked pretty dirty) but at least the shower had good water pressure. They’ve got an outdoor pool. There’s an asian restaurant attached to the hotel that was busy on a Friday night with plenty of people playing pool and hanging out at the bar. Their kitchen is open late too if you need late night snacks. In the morning the hotel has a complimentary breakfast.

This hotel is average and suited our needs. The experience was marred by the front desk staff, however. We made reservations for 2 rooms a year prior and paid for our stay at that time. A few weeks prior to arrival I contacted the hotel to notify the hotel of the other party that would be checking in to the second room under our reservation, but arriving separately from us. The woman on the phone, after pulling up the reservation became agitated and said we shouldn’t have gotten the room at the rate we did and they would be speaking to Expedia about it. She was referring to the fact we were there during a special event weekend where they almost triple their normal room rate. We were fortunate to get their regular room rate for the 2 rooms. She stated, to paraphrase, they had been reprimanded by management for allowing the rooms to be booked at the regular rate. when checking in the hotel, we were again subjected to the story about how we had gotten a very low rate for the room and informed the no-smoking room we reserved was not available. Also, no typical reminder of their complimentary breakfast. Our friends that arrived at a later time also had to hear about the low rate and were given a smoking room rather than the non-smoking room that was reserved. The staff needs to learn the meaning of hospitality and to keep their internal issues among themselves.

The rooms are very clean and quite reasonable. However, the front desk must be a mess. They overcharged us for a room and then proceeded to tell me that nobody could do anything until the gm returned a week later. They also offered no discount after the ac broke in the middle of the night. It is a decent place to stay but don’t be surprised if there are a few bumps in the road.
