Mexican sweet bread as authentic as it comes. What a surprise to find when pulling over for gas at Valero. This is a 2 for 1 stop and a sure treat once you taste their filled CHURROS! It’s not easy to keep churros from becoming stale and gummy & this family has figured it out! DELICIOUS!

When my family and I travel through Johnson city to Austin we ALWAYS stop here! And we load up on all the pan we can handle!!! It’s fresh and homemade and I love it! We get 13 big brown bags and fill them to the top with all different kinds of bread! Amazing! Only complaint is the lady that works there. She has a bitter attitude but that never stops me from stoping there and getting the sweet bread !

When we went in for a restroom we certainly didn’t expect the full on bakery! Very tasty and he offered us a sample when we were curious what something was.

This is the gas station to stop at if you have a sweet tooth! They have a glass case full of delicious Mexican baked goods. Also a good place to grab a 24 ounce beer for the BYOB restaurant next door.

Absolutely the rudest woman behind the counter. Being pregnant, maybe she didn’t feel so well at that point. The bathroom was filthy. Out of paper(toilet and paper towels). Toilet was covered with urine and the floor was dirty. Past customers had filled up the trash can with feces covered toilet paper. Overall a pig sty. When I mentioned it to her as we were buying pastries, she gave me the nastiest go to hell look and shrugged like BFD. I told her that was not the way to treat customers. Especially those that always stopped through to buy pastries and get gas, etc on a regular basis on our travels to West Texas, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, etc. She continued to have a Go FY look and I just said simply: «Really??» Then I guess either her father or father in law… I don’t know) joined in and said I was disrespectful to her. I said I never yelled. My voice only elevated when we had the second crappy exchange from her and I said that is not a way to treat customers. He said I needed to respect her. I told him respect goes both ways and she was absolutely rude and didn’t deserve our dollars. He told me to shut up. Of course I said ok, so who is not respecting who now? I told them Happy Easter and we left. Really disappointed. We will never ever go back. I hope they close. On another note, he went to use the restroom while the initial exchange occurred and he didn’t have any paper towels to use. His hands were dry. And he proceeded to handle food. Not sure what he touched in there and what he did but all I know is the elderly man was handling food after he came out. Nasty experience.

This place has a full-on Mexican bakery inside! The clerk was so cute and nice, when I got an Arizona tea, he wiped the top of the can off with a napkin… THOROUGHLY. It was such a nice gesture. The bathroom was really spotless, and the Mexican pastries were delicious and fresh. The whole little store smelled sweet.

Stopped for a potty break — left with a bag full of wonderful, freshly baked Mexican pastries! TRULYFRESH — the baker was working on making another batch of homemade treats right there behind the counter! Truly a must try if you’re in the area! As my husband said, «what a happy surprise, a Mexican panderia at a gas station!»
