Mr K’s is a gem in JC! Huge two floors of books of all kinds that are mostly gently used. Perfect place to settle in and relax if you have a few hours to kill. The books are really nicely organized into genre and then by author. If you are looking for a whole series from an author this is a great place to go. Books are very reasonably priced and gently used. I am long past college but there is also a big selection of college text books. The upstairs has a big area of used CD’s and DVD’s. All nicely organized and for DVD’s they have many whole series that you can pick up if you are not into online viewing. Part of a dying breed of stores we are lucky to have Mr. K’s here and for sure the size and how helpful they are put them at the top of the list of places to find used books!

This place is awesome. What can I say for a book lovers it is like a dream come true. so many books and such great prices. Great staff. And if you live there you can return your books and trade them in for store credit and buy more. Wish we had not moved away. First time for this store as we had always gone to the Asheville store before.

Bring your own coffee, there are no baristas here! A great spot to kill the middle hours of a rainy day. Mr K’s is a used book store. They buy and resell used books. There are a couple of comfy chairs to sit and read while you wait for Wifey to finish shopping. Usually a nice quiet atmosphere. 2 stories(handicap accessible elevator) of books organized by category. Audio book section. Also a pretty large music CD and DVD movies section. You can bring previously loved books here and they will make you an offer to buy them from you. They don’t buy books that won’t resell either due to condition, lack of demand, or obscurity. It’s easier than Ebay and usually a fair price. You get trade/store credit which can be used to buy other used books, but not new books or music. Some recent college textbooks can be found here as well as referenc e books, and a huge selection of recent bestsellers and classics. The only things missing are baristas, espresso shots, lattes, a patio, and high prices. Parking is kind of cramped, leave the dually at home and drive the compact instead. I like it here.
