I’ve driven past P M P Deli for years without stopping in but recently decided to give it a shot. As it turns out it’s a pretty good place to stop for lunch. They do all the standard sandwiches and subs but also specialize in Eastern European stuff and regional specialties like spiedies, pierogies, holupki, and City Chicken. They are one of the only places I know of that still serve lamb spiedies, which I understand to be the original meat of choice upon their invention. One thing that shocked me about P M P was their beer selection. Lots of different varieties of German and Eastern European beers are available. Not really anything you can’t get at Sam the Beer Man but still, it’s nice to know you can get some reasonable stuff in JC. P M P isn’t great by any stretch, but if you are in search of German/Eastern European meats like kielbasa or want to try out some of the region’s specialty foods, it’s definitely worth a stop.
