This review really refers to Terminix as a national chain. Unfortunately this particular location happens to be the local shop that serviced me and they’re going to receive the review. My experience with Terminix started about a year ago when I got a nasty flea infestation in my apartment. All of my other options failed to deal with it so I called an exterminator. First off they set several appointments for the initial consultation and no one ever showed up to them. In fairness this was during the flood and the area was a mess. However, their customer service reps should not have set up appointments that their exterminators could not keep due to road conditions etc. I persevered and gave them the benefit of the doubt. They came and treated the place and the fleas were gone. This was great. I agreed at the time to sign up for a one year recurring service contract. This was not so great. The problems with this started almost immediately. They would come every three months after the initial treatment to retreat the premises. Each time they set up an appointment on a day that was not convenient to me due to my work schedule. I would call and attempt to reschedule. I would offer them three or four alternative dates that the service could take place on and each time they were unable to accommodate any of the different dates. So for the duration of the contract I received«service» to the exterior of the apartment when I wasn’t home. The problem I have with that is I was told several times they couldn’t provide exterior service because this is a joint occupied residence and the other tenants in the rest of the apartments had not provided such authorization. So as I wasn’t home and they couldn’t perform the services they claimed they performed I have no idea what I paid a service fee every three months for the past year for them to do. On top of the scheduling issues Terminix unbeknownst to me placed my credit card information into a recurring payment account. I never authorized them to do this and to the best of my knowledge the initial paperwork I signed never authorized them to do this. Luckily for me the credit card they had on file was canceled and none of the unauthorized payments ever went through. I even specifically called and spoke to them about this the first time they attempted it and told them I never authorized this and they were not to do it again. Three months later I received a call from them complaining that they attempted to take an automatic payment and it was being refused because my card was expired. So despite me telling them I did not want them doing this and it wasn’t authorized they still did it anyway. Several times I complained about the service I was receiving and the rep on the phone really didn’t seem to care. They were much more concerned about when I was going to pay them what I owed them. That was pretty much the response I got each time«Sorry sir, when can you pay us this balance?» Overall, they got rid of my fleas but that’s about all they managed to do for me. I want to be clear here I don’t blame the people at the local depot. My interactions with them were always professional and courteous when I saw them. I blame instead the atrocious customer service I received at the corporate level. In short if you need a professional exterminator look elsewhere and save yourself aggravation and money.
