This is the only fitness center in the area. The next closest is 7 mi. in Morrisville(Snap Fitness). This will be mainly to review the resistance training amenities. For a university gym, it’s a bit lacking. It has 1 barbell bench, 1 bb incline bench, 1 power cage, a smith machine, and a leg press(see pictures provided). I was curious as how a gym with one BB bench would be able to manage the demand for this popular item. And to my surprise, it does. The most patrons I have ever seen in the weight room was about 5. On average, there is 1 – 2 people.(this considering it is 6−8pm during December) I am not sure how crowded it gets during the day. There is only 1 standard 7′ olympic bar(usually on the bench press). The other olympic bars are 5/6′ and from what I’ve read 35lbs rather than 45lbs. There is also a hex bar that is usually left on the floor with plates still loaded on. The dumbells only go up to 100lbs and the adjustable benches are quite elevated and have an obnoxious leg hold down pads that seems to get in the way more than it helps. Parking isn’t too bad at night. There is visitor parking and since this is mainly a commuter school, it is pretty empty after class hours. Here is a list of other items available: Adjustable Cable machine Machine shoulder press Lat pulldown machine Machine chest press Lying Hamstring curl Leg extension Peck Deck Fly(really awkward arm angle) Captains Chair Machine Row Preacher curl bench Decline situp bench
