So I have to first say I have only been once and I will give it another shot. I had the steak supreme sandwich,. cheese, onion, peppers and mushrooms. It was a really good size for the money but the meat was almost all gristle. I realize it is not shaved steak, but that to be the leftovers from the trimming house. Now, one of the reviews that the evening is not the best time to go so I will during the day at some point, but until then, there are much better places around the corner.

I only go during the day when the owner is working. The kids he hires at night are awful. Best sub in Johnston though.

Riccotti’s is to RI what Ray’s Pizza is to NYC. Every Riccotti’s claims to be the best and the original, but none of them are actually related. It’s a weird quirky thing that I enjoy. They’re mom and pop sandwich shops so I tend to frequent them regardless. This store does not disappoint. They make a damn good Italian cold cut that features hot pepper relish and a drizzle of oil and vinegar. That’s the way you do it. Their bread is always fresh and very doughy, and tough enough to sustain oil and vinegar without dripping all over the place. It’s obviously a family-run place, and the employees are usually older and very friendly. And their prices are unbeatable. Why go to D’Angelo’s or Subway across the street when you’ve this gem on Atwood?

We ordered a chicken stir fry sub and an italian sub. I would give this place 1 star, but my husband thought his sub(the stir fry) was alright. My italian sub was terrible. It literally had 2 thin pieces of ham and 2 thin pieces of capilcolla for meat and then 2 thin slices of provolone for cheese. We asked for light on the mustard and it had way way too much yellow mustard. How can an Italian Sandwich shop not make an italian sandwich? Honestly, Subway makes a better italian sub. I wish I had just thrown the sub out, but I was too hungry.

I work on saturdays, until 12. Immediately following, I put my order in for an italian grinder, no cheese, extra mortadella, all the way. The. Best. Sandwich. Ever.

This place is a staple. Father and son team /comedy duo. Father is bitter old man… disgruntled with the world — refers to computers as «Boob Tubes» Son is laid back, great guy. They make amazing sandwiches… Tried the chicken cutlet with lettuce and tomato last week. Wanted to go back for a second. Hit this place next time you’re crusing on Atwood ave @ Hartford Ave.
