Great product but the service at this location has to be the worst I’ve seen. 20 minutes at the drive thru is completely unacceptable Unfortunately, they don’t have much competition in Johnstown… yet. The day will come and this place will struggle

I love Whit’s. The food and custard are always yummy, and the people are always cheerful. They are very supportive of the community, also — they provide discounted food for a variety of causes, including school groups, Relay for Life, etc. Whit’s is definitely a bright spot in this little town, and the raspberry chocolate chip is to die for! :-)

The custard is delicious and a good price. I got the«whitser» which is like a blizzard.

Whits frozen custard is delicious. Yes, it’s different from ice cream. It’s thicker, richer, and creamier. You should know that they only offers 3 flavors in scoops; chocolate, vanilla, and the flavor of the week. I love when they have Almond Joy or Butter Pecan. The whitsers are very good, similar to a blizzard. I suggest asking for chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla in it, it’s awesome! The cookie ice cream sandwiches are great too. They must make their own cookies or something. So here’s the downside and why I took off one star… Their service can be really unsatisfying. They’re not generally down right rude or anything but they most employ teenage girls. A few of them are very friendly… But it’s obvious that a few of them either hate their jobs or feel very inconvenienced by having to serve you. I guess it comes along with the territory. Overall, very good. Lots of outdoor seating with some limited indoor seating.

My wife and I absolutely love Whit’s. We’ve introduced it to our parents who have become fans as well. Whit’s always has chocolate and vanilla custard ready for consumption and every week, they have a different flavor of the week(buckeye, mocha chip, and raspberry chip are some of our favorites). They key is to go here during a week with a good flavor of the week. however, note that if you’re in town on an off-week, you can’t go wrong with chocolate or vanilla. Also, you can spice things up with plenty of toppings offerings(there is a list of «free» toppings and plenty of pay-for toppings as well. Whit’s answer to the Blizzard is a «Whitser», which is fantastic and highly recommended. They have several favorite combinations or you can pick your own mix-ins(toppings). The staff is very friendly and will recommend something for you to try. They’ll also let you try a flavor if you ask. What is really cool about living nearby is that they sell pints! So if you’re not feeling chocolate or vanilla and the flavor of the week doesn’t meet your taste buds’ request, grab a pint to go! Although it’s more pricey than ice cream at Kroger, it’s a good value when you consider the price of the frozen custard in a cup. I don’t love ice cream like some people do, but I love this frozen custard. It’s so soft and it melts in your mouth, Regardless of the flavor you choose, it just tastes better than ice cream. I assume that any other Whit’s(it’s a local chain) is just as great, but I’ve only been to this one!

I stopped in here on the way home from camping and was little shocked about a few things. They have only 3 flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, and the flavor of the day. Today they peach so i decided to give it a try. It cost $ 2.50 for a single scoop which I thought was a little expensive for an ice cream joint out close to nowhere. I thought I would get a single for $ 2 or less. Yes, the serving was decent size but it wasn’t crazy huge. The custard is pretty good but not so great that I am dying for more. I did enjoy eating it compared to all of the Froyo I have had this summer. Whits has few other options with their whitser and your usual concoctions. The place was pretty full but it was Saturday night and there isn’t much else to do out in Johnstown. This was a better choice than all the little ice cream dari______places. I have tried a Whit’s shake before and that was pretty good so i would probably choose a shake or whitster the next time I stop at Whit’s. Frozen Custard does really well when mixed in with toppings.
