America’s Credit Union

We decided to try a local bank when we purchased our new car, mostly for the lower rate, but also the convenience of a local branch. We have only ever used USAA, and never had any problems. Save money and local branch, sure why not? My husband called after the loan was established and asked to change the automatic billing date from the 9^th to the 15^th. They said that they could push he first payment back till the 13^th as a courtesy, but could not change the automatic payment until after the first payment was made. Husband was told to come in, fill out paperwork after the 13^th to have permanent billing date changed to 15^th. Did that. This was in November. So, December 9^th, our checking account, with USAA, was deducted for the car payment. We call. They are sorry. They can put the money into our savings account with them. Savings account? We didn’t open a savings account with them. They opened one for us when we started the loan. She says she sees the paper work in her coworkers inbox (from November) and she’s not sure why it never got entered. They will «fix it», they say. One week later, December 15^th, we have yet ANOTHER, automatic payment for the month of December, taken out of checking account. Again, with the «refund it to your savings account with us.» «We just need a screen shot of the deduction from your checking account.» Why do we need to supply proof that your bank deducted our account twice? You can see that in our account. Who makes two car payments within one week of each other and 10 days before Christmas? Husband said no, we will take a cashiers check and payoff info. Going back to USAA.

Tried to pay off the remaining balance on my auto loan. They won’t allow this to be done by card, even in person. So I have to have USAA expedite a check to ACU to finish off the loan instead. The check gets delivered to ACU’s PO Box. Somehow the check gets lost between the PO Box and the actual credit union (USPS confirmed the check was delivered). No apology for the screw up was given on ACU’s part, but instead a «Whoops. Better send us another one.» Don’t do business with this credit union. Go elsewhere.

Usually helpful but lots if things they need to work on. When my Mom had to deal with identity theft they tried to blame my Mom

Appreciate the reception service, but I think its a bit much for a small bank. Staff is friendly and they actually smile. Service was very fast. As for the free pen when you check in… yeah, still waiting on it. Okay, it’s the same orange pen located in the waiting area.

i cant believe what i just heard from my husband who has spent all day trying to figure out why we have a life insurance under our car loan through this bank. we went in about 3 months ago to get a refinance because the rates was lower than wells fargo. it took us 4 hours to get that done. which was ridiculous! then we weren’t getting statements in the mail, and they send me cut out slips for my car loan, who the hell does that anymore! really! then the second statement comes and i see a charge for life insurance. which we never bought. so apparently they are saying that we signed the papers for life insurance and now there is nothing that we can do to remove it!!! i am sooo pissed at the service of this bank and this was the last draw with them! people do not bank here if you want your money stolen from you!!! go some place else!!!
