The place is in Lockport not in Joliet. Not impressed with the availability of the apples. The apples are very small size. the admission is free. There are different sizes of the bags, small medium and large. We can fill as much as the apples in the bag. The pears are sold on weight, not on the bags. We had to go corner to corner just to fill the medium size bag. Many of the apples were not ripen. Mixed feelings after coming out of farm.

I’ve been searching for best place to pick apples and I found it here. No theme park. Just a swing set and play ground for the kids. No entrance fee. Simple, Apple orchards. I’ll come here again and again. Highly recommended.

Great family owned orchard. No rides, no games, just lots and lots of apple trees. I’m sick and tired of orchards using their location as an amusement park. They use no pesticides so I would consider it «organic». Lots of variety and full trees. Also, no entrance fee. They also have free wagons for you to use. Yes, I said free. Definitely will return.

This was our first visit and we were overwhelmed with happiness. I’m so sick of the campy, overpriced, amusement park-style orchards out there. We have an almost 2 year old and all he wants to do is pick apples. He has no interest in hayrides, zip lining, petting zoos and the rest of that hoopla. This home style orchard was perfect. The owners are wonderful, friendly and very accommodating. They even had a few wagons for visitors which is great since strollers wouldn’t do too well in the orchard. The apples are not perfect, but I appreciated this since perfect apples means rounds of pesticides/herbicides/waxing/etc. The variety is astounding for this early in the season, they had at least 6 varieties available in two semi-separate orchards. One side of the property is a row style with each row signifying a particular variety. The other side is what they call the«adventure» orchard with a mixture of varieties which ripen at various times. We enjoyed seeing all the different varieties, and loved that they don’t prune the branches too high, so that our son was able to pick apples close to the ground. We plan on coming back again a little later in the season since our first visit was so wonderful. We got a half peck of apples for $ 24 and I need to find some Pinterest recipes to use them all, WEWILLBEBACK!
