Without question, the BEST Friday fish fry anywhere in Will County. Food is fresh, homemade, and cooked to order. Baked cod, fried cod, fried walleye, fried catfish, fried shrimp, and for those that don’t like fish, they have the best fried chicken in town. Chicken is fried separate from fish so it doesn’t pick up the fishy taste. Hours are EVERY Friday from 4 – 8. The fun really starts at 8 with karaōke, when Wayne takes over and puts on a real show. Great neighborhood place, perfect mix of older and younger customers… the place is a throwback, while still being a cool place to hang out. Other weekly events include bingo on Mondays and open mic acoustic jam on Thursdays. They have video gaming for their gambling customers.

Used to go here when a friend was the resident DJ. I think I still have a free drink poker chip. I slowly noticed that the prices were rising for drinks and etc. Neighborhood vibe with an occasional weirdo. I don’t go here anymore because I have other choices 8)

One of my best high school friends(read: more of a sister to me than the sister I share dna with) messaged me out of the blue today and reminded me of the days of Bingo over at the post. Miss Sarah has been going there every Monday night with another friend’s grandmother. It used to be our thing. I swear we must have been among the youngest ones there. It was post high school but in between my moves to California. Before marriages and nieces were born. Ah those were the days. It’s things like this that take me back and really miss home. Things like carrying neon dabbers in our purses, smoking cigarettes and playing bingo with one of my best friends of nearly… god I feel old now. You can no longer smoke there, but I’m told the good olé’ VFW is still worthy of the weekly trip down memory lane. And with the crowd you’d be surprised the stories you will hear. Some of the women that play are vicious with their cards. Some will tell you the most mind boggling stories. It’s more than just a night of Bingo. It’s an adventure. You really have no idea what to expect when you go. It’s never the same experience twice. Trust me, I crashed my car once in front of here. Damn you 6 corners!
