My first experience was that the staff members were not very knowledgeable. I asked about a specific supplement, and they asked me what it was for, and behaved as if they’d never heard of it(it’s a commonly used natural treatment with several uses!). They were able to show me another supplement I was looking for. At checkout, I noticed a small sign stating a $ 10 minimum for credit card payment(which is technically against most merchant agreements). Since I had never been there, I had no cash on me, so I asked them for an exception this time. The cashier was huffy and gave me a long winded explanation about small business costs, which I totally understand. However, she explained, didn’t answer my question and stood there staring at me, possibly expecting me to buy something else to reach $ 10? Anyway, I told her since they didn’t have the other thing I was looking for, and I had to go elsewhere anyway, I would leave without buying anything. Then she grudgingly took my credit card, sternly reminding me to bring cash or make a bigger purchase next time. I totally understand that it’s rough for small businesses, but treating customers like children, and expecting them to be psychic is not a way to keep people coming back! I’ll try another store next time…

I wanna be the girl that can spend an infinite amount of money on food and personal hygiene products if they are pure and better for me. Unfortunately, I’m still cheap and have frequently experienced sticker shock since beginning my new healthy living journey. This store looks small from the outside but it actually has a really decent selection. When you walk in, you’ll see the makeup, vitamins and other health products. I did recognize a few brands that I’ve seen at other stores and considered buying in the past. If you keep traveling toward the back of the store, you’ll find the food. There were a few gluten-free items. I was unimpressed by the GF options because it was basically just pretzels and chips that still aren’t any good for you even if they don’t include gluten. That junk doesn’t need to be in my cabinets. There are a few coolers in the back which I found to be the best part of the store. They had a pretty nice selection of grassfed beef that started at $ 7 a pound. If you’re not familiar with grassfed meat, then trust me that this price is right in line with Whole Foods. The section was being stocked while I was there so I wasn’t able to see all of their frozen items but I did see that they offered Veganaise.(vegan mayo) I was vegan for awhile and never tried it but I thought that it was pretty cool that they really try to cater to every different definition of health. We moved on to the next aisle where we found the baking and cooking products. This is where I experienced the sticker shock. These products were more expensive than what I’ve found on Amazon and my local grocery store by a significant amount. Example, I just picked up some Pink Himalayan Salt at Trader Joes for $ 3. A container the same size was $ 6. My huge thing of avocado oil that I bragged about getting for $ 10 was $ 12 for a container 1⁄3 of the size. It’s understandable that these products aren’t cheap and obviously the bigger the store, the cheaper the items are. Since this is a small store, you’ll pay more. I ended up walking out empty handed, sadly, however I had 3 people ask us if we needed help.

Every time I have been in here the lady working at the register has been suffering some sort of emotional crisis. The most recent time I was in the store she was yelling obscenely with some gentleman about how she can’t believe that his wife thinks they are cheating together. I understand people have bad days, but when I awkwardly go to check out she treats me rudely, like I am an inconvenience to be in her store. Also watch out for«sale» prices. A couple times I purchased sale products they were rung up at regular price and only when I pointed out that there was a sign did the price get changed at the register. I would love to frequent here(because of the vegan options) if it was more professionally managed and not so awkward to be in. But as there is a Fruitful Yield just down the street… I will be going elsewhere. Sorry FTGOI
