Quick, friendly service. Good sized portions. Food came fast and tasted good. My mom and husband loves their meals(husband had the chicken curry dish, Mom had noodles with veggies and shrimp). Mine was good, but not amazing(veggies, tofu and fried rice noodles). I thought to tofu was too oily. If I lived close I would come back and try other dishes.

Disappointed in this place lately. They have great food, but are all too often out of many items on the menu. Easy stuff, like bread for the sandwich or ingredients for phở. This has been a regular occurrence when I’ve tried to dine here over the past several months. The family is nice, the food is great, but sadly inventory isn’t a priority. To add salt to the wound, they no longer serve beer. So, no stopping in for carry out and having a beverage while you wait. I’ve loved this place for years and hate to think about taking my business to the competition. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll give them one more shot.

I came here on a Friday around lunch time. There where one other couple besides me. Initially the service was really good. The waitress came and gave me suggestions. She also brought out a glass of water. The ambiance inside was very serene and it is small restaurant. So here is the disclaimer… I might not like phở’s in general. So I thought the food wasn’t good and the beef meatballs seemed bland. I didn’t enjoy the food at all and the waitress never came back to refill the water. So the overall experience was meh. I’m not a fan!

Excited to try. I ordered the tofu phở to go. It was interesting. The phở came in parts to mix together on your own. Flavor was very nice. I could have just left out the tofu all together. I have never had this kind of chewy tofu(fried, perhaps?)It had an unappealing texture. But every other aspect was unique and enjoyable. The $ 10.00 for the large phở is easily over 2 servings. So in my opinion a pretty good deal. Oh and the spicy sauce to add to your phở is a potent potable!!! A little dab will do you. My nose was running and I was slightly sweating while eating but it was a delicious pain.

The food is great. The phở is the best I’ve had. The only real downside is that it is sometimes hard to get some of the items. They don’t always have all the supplies for their other dishes or desserts but they always have phở.

For a small place in the middle of nowhere they have pretty good Vietnamese food. The pork sandwich was pretty good as well as the assortment of appetizers we got. While were there my mom spilled the fish sauce and kind of ruined the meal for me because the smell overwhelmed the food. But other than that it was pretty good. Also the Thai tea is really good!

This place was delicious! We had a seafood rice noodle soup, lemongrass chicken, and the lettuce wrap shrimp appetizer. This is as good as any on Argyle and Broadway. We will be back.

They went downhill in every aspect. Would NEVER recommend! I would give this even less stars if there was an option to! Firstly, the waitress! what’s up with that attitude??? She ignored us the whole time(sitting at a table next to us and watching something on her phone, THEWHOLETIME!) and only came over(met us half way) when we got up and asked for something, we had to get up and ask for water, for a box, and for the check!!! I have never experienced anything like this, and surprised to see this here in the midwest of all the busiest places we have dined in, and we travel A LOT! Secondly, I think the chef/cook changed, and the food is not good at all! The first time we visited this place, the food was delicious!(the waitress was rude). Vietnamese food has very specific flavor profiles which makes it different and so much more attractive and the lack of those flavors are really off-putting. Thirdly, very tiny portions, the ratio of vermicelli to the grilled meats is completely off. I mean five or six tiny little leathery cubes! How am I supposed to eat those cold noodles if there isn’t enough sauce/meat/whatever??? Well the taste was pretty bad so I didn’t care for even the tiny amount of food the rude rude waitress has served. NEVERGOINGBACK!

If you’re looking for authentic vietnamese food, you have found the place. The food was really good! I wanted to try everything on the menu! :) The spring roll was fresh and the peanut sauces is just prefect. The phở has a lot of flavors and delicious. The beef with fried noodle plate is the best(highly recommend).

Love the phở! It tastes very authentic, and they give you everything you may need to tweak it to your tastes, with sauces and spices galore! Have eaten in and taken out, I would definitely recommend eating in, personally. The service is quick and to the point! Also really enjoyed the spring rolls, with any choice of meat. The peanut sauce that comes with the rolls is delicious! Always have to ask for a bit more! Have been quite a few times and hope to be back many more!

Overly, over rated, a hole in the wall, small portion, pricey for Vietnamese. I guess, there’s nothing like North side Chicago. Food was okay. Service was okay, too. For price they charge, should have been better ambiance. Don’t mind a truck stop, unless it had good food.

Awesome, fresh, clean tasting phở. I’ve had 4 — 5 dishes here now and can’t really go wrong. The spring rolls are great, the salt and pepper squid is a favorite of mine(albeit very salty), but the mini egg rolls are consistently over cooked in my opinion. I’ve been meaning to try the fish crock pot everyone raves about, but the phở is so addictive. Pad thai is great here too. Service is quick and it’s usually not crowded. A great hidden gem with healthy food choices. Friendly staff. Not 5 stars because they are frequently out of things like squid or chicken wings, and as another reviewer said they do need to clean up tables faster. Whether you love Vietnamese or have never tried it I would stop in and give it a try.

I can’t believe this place has gone so downhill! My husband and I were in there recently and we are very disappointed. The service was downright lousy. The waitress was completely ignorant towards us. I spilled some water and she gave us a roll of paper towel to clean it up ourselves and didn’t even come over to help wipe the table. She copped an attitude and did not even bring me another glass until I had to get up and ask. I am appalled! When I asked her for a take home box, she set it on the table with a slam. I am absolutely not accustomed to that kind of treatment and will never be treated as such again!!! To that waitress… I write this to let the world know how you act and that you didn’t get away with it, and if either of us comes in again, we command service from you with the utmost respect!!! Very poor customer service!

Ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls and a #17 with marinated chicken over the phone. The guy over the phone informed us that it will take 25 minutes. When we walked in the place, it smelled like old food since many tables still had customer leftovers on them which seemed like they have been sitting for a while and they were not cleared. When we got our food we were so disappointed on the amount of chicken that was given over rice. They tried to spread them out over rice to make it seem more than it is. But It was about 7 small cube pieces of chicken over a bed of rice. If it tasted good I wouldn’t be so upset. But it had no taste. The spring rolls were a disappointment as well. They were tough and hardly had any meat in them. I would never go back to this place.

Was apprehensive coming into this place but definitely enjoyed my meal. The service was alright, but not too bad. The smells and taste definitely seemed authentic. Would return to this place.

Phở was fantastic! Spring rolls were also good. Avoid everything else! Shrimp firecrackers were chewy. Egg rolls not worth the calories. Fried rice was ok. We ordered a couple chicken dishes but they ran out of chicken, so they subbed beef without even asking us if it’s ok! Wtf!!! The dining room was full and there was only 1 server, so it took a long time to get anything including silverware! So we sat and stared at our food for a while before she came around again.

Updating this review because I realized the greatness of this restaurant in this little suburban spot. Living in the city and trying many Viet restaurants they have to offer(in Argyle, especially) made me realize how good Hue actually is. With that being said, it will only do them justice to for me to up their review. Keep your business going!

Updating our previous review. We have been coming to Hue Palace for more than 5 years. The food is still excellent and the employees are still friendly as ever. Just to let everyone know there have been some great changes at Hue Palace. For instance prices have gone WAY down and the food is still delicious. After talking to the owner we also learned that there will be renovations taking place real soon not to mentioned added varieties of smoothies and flavored teas. This is a great family restaurant to try out you won’t regret it. Affrspandian F. Joliet, IL

I am going to have to update my review. The Phở is still really good but now that I have gone there almost 10 times now, everything I try is really good. The Spring Rolls are the best I had ever!!! Yeah, I said it. They are tight rolled and so light served with this peanut sauce that is great with anything. And now that I am really getting into Unilocal more. I realize that I was probably too critical at first. Like the 5 stars says«As good as it gets» and regarding the spring rolls and number 58(sorry I don’t know the name) this is as good as it gets.
