Illinois Secretary Of State Driver Services Facility

I went in Wednesday to get a new license after getting married. I was seen right away, but once I got to the counter I realized I did not have the proper documentation needed to get my address changed as well. I went home and came back, was seen right away again and then sent to the second counter. My only complaint here was that the woman helping me was a little too chatty and I was in a hurry. The cashier was quick, the photographer was quick and I was in and out in less than a half hour total which was really not bad at all.

Never in my life would I have guessed that I would be writing a review for an Illinois Secretary of State drivers services facility, but yet, here I am! Came to this location on a Wednesday at 9am. Place was pretty busy. Went in to have my DL address corrected and to purchase an ID card as well. Guy at the front counter took my info, gave me a number and told me to have a seat. I sit down: they call my number immediately. Guy that helped me (Charles) was polite, friendly and helpful. Cashier and photographer were very nice as well. Total time it took me was 15 minutes. A pleasant experience overall!

Good god I hate this place… reminds me of how much I hate Illinois in general. THE WORST SERVICE EVER, every time! The place is FILTHY!

Oh, but they accept VISA now, and charge a $ 1 fee.

One star, only because zero not an option.
Had a terrible experience this a.m. Without rehashing a very long story. I have been caught in a catch 22. I have been told an old problem is fixed on my sons driving record, only to find out that it is not. Supervisor Patricia, EXTREMELY rude. Attitude was «I don’t know what to tell you, here is a phone number.».
She must not have read all the «Customer Service» posters. Rude, lazy and dismissive, not good qualities in a «supervisor».

Wow! I’m reviewing the DMV and I’m giving it 4 stars? What am I? Crazy? Anyways, I had to update my address on my license. I stopped in on New Years eve and it was easy! I guess the frigid temperatures and the impending night of partying had everyone at home preparing. Nonetheless, I was in and out. Simple.

The workers never seem to be upbeat. But, always handle the screaming stupid people that do not follow the rules, regulations and laws of this State with professionalism.
