I saw another reviewer complained of the skates. I agree however ours were too new! They were not broken in and were painful to wear considering we don’t ice skat often. The facilities are very nice and it is a family friendly environment. Not too expensive either. Overall a great experience!

The ice was great. Nice facility. Convient bar area. The rental skates are terrible. Old boots with rivets and binding cutting thru. Laces knotted back together. Dull blades. Very reasonable fees. Great ice. Bring your skates.

I never even knew that Joliet HAD an ice arena, but after being asked to play in a pick up hockey game recently, I’m happy to have found it. And when I say«found», I mean that literally. If I didn’t know the address, I never would have seen it from the road. You see, it’s hidden away in the Joliet Park District building and there’s no obvious sign out in front. At least, none that I noticed, anyway. Once inside, I noticed a very spacious and clean lobby area as I dragged my gear toward the locker room. Our locker room was very spacious and had large benches on which to store my «stuff», both on top and below. As we made our way out onto the ice, I was surprised at how smooth it was! Being a public arena, it’s normal to have many ruts or bumps in the ice from so much use, but this surface seemed to be pretty even overall. Very impressive, especially when I spend most of my time in the crease! There’s also an Irish Bar & Grille in the building where we all met afterward for pizza and beer. The beer was cold and the pizza, tasty. What better way to end an evening of hockey than with a couple of «pops» while bragging and ribbing about the game before? I can’t think of any, that’s for sure. So I’d recommend checking this place out if you’re in the Joliet area. Two suggestions, though. Remember to bring the address with you as you make your way there, particularly if you’re going at night… and suggestion #2: If you’re using the locker rooms, take your valuables with you into the rink and leave them on the bench. There was talk about others coming back to the locker rooms only to find money gone from their wallets. This could(and does) happen anywhere, so please don’t let it deter you from visiting. A little caution is always good practice no matter where you are.
