Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery

So I came here to meet a buddy for a few beers since I was in the area for work and he lives close by. I had never been to a Tilted Kilt and didn’t realize it was a Hooter’s, Twin Peak’s like place. Score! I get to unleash my inner perv without going full blown strip club like sleezy.
As the name suggests, the waitresses/​bartenders wear what equates to really short skirts and matching tops that show their ample cleavage and the color pattern resembles a kilt… kind of. Funny that a Hooters is within walking distance of here in case you want to double up on your viewing pleasure.
I will say the menu here is way better than that of Hooters. Their beer selection is much larger too as there are several beers on tap. I had some sort of Brown Sugar IPA (I think) as recommended by the bartender and my buddy. It was quite tasty.(I think) We split an order of calamari to start. It was both the rings and little octopus looking kind. Both were relatively greaseless and seasoned well. It came with what looked like some sort of mustard dipping sauce. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. I then got the pork street tacos that came with a lot of pork, salsa verde and pico. The order came with 3 tacos with a side of chips and salsa for 9.50. It felt like a steal in terms of value.
I was pleasantly surprised and I’ll probably be back since I’ll be in the area for a while.

Let’s be honest, this isn’t fine cuisine; but there was a dish on the menu (Gaelic Chicken) that I really liked a lot. This location recently pared their menu down though, and my dish was one of the ones cut. It’s odd, because it was one of the highlighted «favorite» items on the old menu. It’s basically just burgers and your standard generic bar food now.
So I was disappointed with that on my most recent (and probably last) visit. I stood at the check in desk for almost 5 minutes before anyone came to seat me. The party of four in front of me got tired of waiting and just left. After I got seated it took about another 5 minutes before a waitress took my drink order, and then she came back a few minutes later to ask me again because she forgot.
That’s when I noticed the menu change and ended up ordering a Black & Blue burger, salt and pepper French fries, and a side salad. The salad wasn’t dressed, and the waitress said she thought I’d asked for the dressing on the side (I didn’t), which would’ve been fine had she actually remembered to bring the side of dressing. The burger was decent but overcooked. Nothing special, but not horrible.
With the menu changes and lackadaisical service, I doubt I’ll be returning.

Stopped in on ¹¹⁄₁ while at the mall. We’ve been here too many times to count. Can’t really comment on the meals as we usually just have drinks and appetizers. What I can comment on is the service we have found it to be hit or miss and like others who have reviewed this location have also been ignored by bartenders. And this visit we had the pleasure of having Rachel has our bartender. What a breath of fresh air smiling, Pleasant, and just you know if conversation to make it enjoyable. I’m top of that it was so nice to see a bartender who actually tended a bar. We watched her walk around and check on her customers multiple times in the short visit. I have been here and sat at one end of the bar and didn’t get noticed for sometimes almost 10 minutes. I think I can safely say if you come in here when Rachel is bartending you’ll receive prompt service with a friendly smile and she’ll check back on you. I wish they could clone her and get rid of the other deadweight i’d probably come in here more frequently.

I was waiting on someone to get done in the mall so I figured I’d stop in for a beer, I got a Bud Light pint, the bill was 4.95 for a Draft pint. Really sad when the bartender herself says that the beer is way overpriced here. I can understand this kind of price for a tall draft but not a short pint

Okay I’m sorry. The food here is disgusting. Literally every time I eat here I regret it instantly. The only reason I came here today was because I was craving buffalo wings. I absolutely regret it. Will not be back ever again.

We used to go to the Chicago Ridge location all the time when we knew one of the waitresses.
This location is spacious and nice. Our waitress was attentive but I’m pretty sure it was just her and the bartender working that night. My Bloody Mary was perfect and I even received my water without having to ask twice.
The garlic Parmesan is incredibly greasy. I had my usual chicken wrap with garlic parm and the entire bottom of the basket was covered in oil. The chicken itself wasn’t very good and the whole thing barely had any flavor. Very very disappointing.
My fiancé ordered a habanero guac burger, that he said wasn’t spicy at all.
Not sure we’ll be back to this location again.

Went straight to the bar for drinks and appetizers. Great service despite only having one bartender for the large bar. Fries were delicious and mozzarella sticks the best I’ve had.

I was a bit apprehensive coming here with a group of friends but am so glad I did. I’m a vegan so finding things to eat can be difficult. Ironically my server’s name happened to be Ashley too and she was phenomenal. Usually at places like this I just get fries and call it a day but she was so attentive and tried to cater to my needs. The food was good and all my friends had a really good time. A little pricey but then again i’m on that college kid budget. If you go to eat here I highly recommend you ask to be seated with Ashley, she’s very personable and will definitely make you feel right at home.

Bring your wallet… 1 Guinness Blond and 1 fruity drink my wife ordered (5 parts juice to 1 part alcohol) = $ 16.25. Shady thing is we did not get a receipt, and the bonus shady thing is when we asked the other bartender who did not serve us what the prices were she had no clue and said «well that has a lot of alcohol in it»… This is after waiting 8 minutes to get acknowledged!
Side note: my wife is an experienced bartender and general manager at another establishment and watched the inaccurate pour of her drink, hence the 5:1 mixture.

Pastrami was good. Drinks were good and served in a timely manner. Bar tender Karlie was great and looked great too

This was my Go-​To pub until recently. My last visit was greeted with my beer in a plastic solo cup. I asked for the manager. She came and gave me a bunch of lame excuses. So I wrote a letter to corporate. They simply passed the letter to the manager, Vinny. Vinny wrote back and basically told me they ran out of glasses. However the place only had about 30% capacity. This used to be a nice place to hang out — when it first opened — but not any more. The food is good. The eye candy is okay — not great. But the policies and rules suck. I now hang out at hooters about a half mile away. Food is better and the beer is always served in a cold glass. Go to kilt and you never know what you’ll get. If you don’t mind being treated like you’re in Wrigley field, go to Tilted Kilt. Otherwise, go to Hooters. You’ll thank me for it.

We’ve eaten here twice now and the food has been great. Enjoyed the black and bleu burger and the beef Au Jus sandwich, both times with the garlic French fries. I’d normally rate it five stars however the atmosphere is a bit too loud. It might be great if your pounding beers while watching a hockey game but if your trying to enjoy a quick meal after shopping, it can be difficult to hear normal conversation. The servers are friendly and attentive as service is very good.

Well I suppose that this company has lots of business. Actually I stood waiting to be seated for 5 minutes and. It was dead No wait but just ignored… Guess they don’t need business back to Hotters. Lol

So we stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago. And to make a long story a bit shorter, it was not that great of an experience. I’ve read through a few of the other reviews and I can concur that our waitress (don’t recall her name — she was a red head) was one that rarely visited our table and spent much of her time sitting at other tables, and I’m pretty sure her boyfriend was one of them. Very annoying. Visit your friends some other time – this is your job right? Are we supposed to tip you? Should we just raise our hands when we need something?
So we primarily had issues ordering our drinks. We ordered Stella on tap and we must have waited 15 minutes before the waitress came back to tell me that the keg was out. She asked if I wouldn’t mind waiting, I said fine, and then proceeded to wait at least another 20 minutes before we cancelled the Stella altogether. Our food took an extremely long time even though the place was dead, but the manager finally brought our food over. We had an opportunity to tell her that service basically sucked and she was very kind and apologetic. She knocked our appetizer off our bill and gave us a little coupon for a free appetizer and a little necklace in a miniature purse for our daughter. It was very thoughtful and made our bad experience not so bad. And that’s why I’m giving them 4 stars versus one or two.
All in all, food is good but service definitely needs to take it up a few notches so the manager doesn’t need to recoup the business. She shouldn’t have to apologize for lazy service.

I hope management reads these and starts taking action. My past two visits have shown a disturbing trend with the serving staff — totally ignoring everyone because they’re too busy chatting with friends. Not even sure a manager was on duty because I’m certain they would have noticed this and taken action. Food is ok and the craft beer selection is very good, but unless some changes happen with the staff, I may not come back — unless I become a friend of one of the servers and get quality service only reserved for them!

Not sure what’s not to like about this place. Food is really good. As a matter of fact, I’m probably going to go eat here today at lunch. The girls are nice and attractive. It’s never really super packed in there except for when there is a game on so you get service fairly quickly. I actually filmed a harlem shake video in there when that dance was hot. The manager let me. You can youtube it. Just search Joliet Tilted Kilt Harlem Shake. Yeah… I’m that guy!

The food is a subpar for bar food. It’s not completely terrible (or I’d give it 1 star), but still pretty bad. I found the service lacking as well. Long waits for people to check in on us, follow up on things, etc.

Food 4/​5, service 0.5÷5. I ordered the Bad Arse BBQ burger with onion rings. Flavors were excellent for the burger, albeit messy, onion rings were delicious. Little steep of a price $ 16.50, in my opinion. Our waitress was slow, and was told twice about 10 minutes apart «No we don’t want anything else just the checks». She also never even made eye contact and wasn’t very engaging. We didn’t get to leave for about 20 – 25 minutes after we finished eating.
Now I don’t have experience at Hooters but coworker of mine commented that at least the Hooters waitresses are outgoing and flirty in a have-​fun way. So ultimately learned if you want better food go to Tilted Kilt. If you want better waitresses go to Hooters. and if you want Hooters… go to Hooters… just sayin…

I went out to eat here with some friends and the food wasn’t bad. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, fries and an Arnold Palmer (which was not an Arizona brand tea, it was obviously homemade). We also ordered a couple appetizers. The reason why I am rating this one star is because the service was extremely slow even though there was hardly anyone there. The waitress kept forgetting my drink and messed up our separate checks at least twice. I also became violently ill almost immediately after eating. Their bathrooms were dirty and every stall except one was out of toilet paper. Will not return.

the staff was friendly & attentive. The place got packed quite quickly so I’m glad we got there a bit early. I would have to go back & sample their food, as we were only there to watch MMA & get a few drinks. I was a little bumbed that they were out of my drink but it happens! I guess next big game/​fight, I will try other things there

The food is quite ok. Some of the staff is good and sympathetic but if you miss luck then they can be in quite bad mood. Anyhow they have a lot of good draft beer!
