Very cute place. Perfect for lunch. I tried the fried green Tomato sandwich and it was delicious. It was fried to perfection. Great taste to the sauce on it. My brother had the Philly cheese steak and ate it all no complaints. The second time I went I wanted to try the Philly sandwich and they were out of it, so I opted for a steak sandwich, they were out of it also. I hope they’re not out of anything the next time I go :) I’m hoping to go for dinner sometime and catch live music. Great local musicians like Alex Hoffer perform there sometimes.

Being that this is one of the few white table cloth-ish sit down places in the Area I will cut it some slack. We need more places to eat in Joliet. The food was decent, especially after a couple drinks. I just have this nagging feeling that it came out of a can or a freezer box. There was a LOT of dairy used to smother the food. The soup was good. All in all it was better than most of the dumps in the area and I hope it does well.

Chicago quality and joliet prices. Absolutely wonderful meal. Food was fresh and homemade. Our waitress Kim was awesome. We will definitely be going back again.

This place is only getting 2 stars because the Calamari was really good. I ordered the salmon, it came raw in the middle and cold. It also took approx 20 mins to come out. The baked potato was very overdone, not even edible. Salad was wilted. I reordered a grilled chicken sandwich which I had to ask for to go because my Son, who I was there with, had already finished his meal before my sandwich came out. We left the restaurant. While in the car I checked the sandwich which was completely burnt! Apparently the Chef, a term I am using loosely, was not pleased I returned his food. I went back inside and told my waitress, she was apologetic and said she would tell the owner. She came back and handed me $ 10.50 the menu price of the sandwich! I asked what about the tax? What about my inconvenience? She’s stated I will ask about that, I tried to make it right. I then asked for the owner. The owner came out and was very nice. She did credit me our whole bill. I hope that the Chef is fired or at least reprimanded. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant.

I LOVE the food here. What a hidden gem in Joliet! The ambiance is very nice, and the food… delicious! I am a stickler for the details. The salad was fresh, crisp and cold lettuce, the pasta was cooked and seasoned to perfection. In the end, it’s all about the food, and the Truth understands this clearly. Great food! Only recommendation, make sure the red-wine is served nearer to the ideal 57-degrees, as it seemed a little closer to room temp and an informed patron will find this a little bothersome. Other than that, superb!

Lunch trio is a great option for the area. $ 15 for soup, salad and half a sandwich hit the spot

Nice experience on 9−12−15. Fried green tomatoes as an appetizer were excellent. I had the filet that was cooked perfectly medium rare as ordered. $ 34 with potatoes and green beans. It was a notch below Gibsons or Mortons but much. Wife had pot roast which was solid. Pot roast doesn’t do much for me but it was fine. Desert of apple tart was very good too. Total bill was around $ 100 including 4 drinks. Big pours on the wine too. I’d recommend.

Came here to watch my daughter’s violin teacher play in the 3 piece band on Thursday night. The music was great! The atmosphere was also nice and cozy feeling. I’m mid thirties and my wife and I were the youngest people in the place by at least 15 years. Like a retirees convention or something inside the place. The food was mediocre at best, it was served hot and nicely but the fact is it lacked any creativity or flavor. it’s all basic cisco foods delivery that they cook up. Nothing high quality about the food but we will go back for the music and cocktails.

This is my favorite restaurant in Joliet and I can’t believe I haven’t done a review yet! I’ve been here for bridal showers, lunches, dinners and my parents had my brother’s communion here years ago. Menu changes with the seasons so sometimes my favorites are gone, but this time around we got the meatballs(ok), the grilled chicken flatbread(very good) and the stuffed mushrooms(I don’t eat mushrooms but my mom loved them). My favorite appetizer is the chicken or lobster pastry puffs. MMM! I always get the house salad to start and I love it-the ranch is good and the crispy onions on top are a great addition. My favorite here is the fried lobster. I like to get it with the green beans and the cheesy potatoes. However, the filet is always very good and I like the pot roast as well. I will say, their dessert options are limited and we almost never get it here. They are a smaller, local business so sometimes they do run out of items as well. They recently remodeled though and it looks really nice. Service is always good as well.

I have to say we had an okay time this evening at Truth. We took our niece and nephew out for dinner and when we asked where they wanted to go, they said, Truth. I looked at the reviews on the way, but in all honesty, the service was good, the food was good and the price wasn’t too bad. All in all we found it a solid 4 star experience.

I enjoyed almost every aspect of Truth. The atmosphere is casual but has fancier touches and the servers are energetic and friendly. Our table ordered a filet mignon that came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and a pasta entrée that included shrimp. The filet was especially delicious and was comparable to a filet that you would get at a downtown Chicago steak place. There is a separate bar area in the front of the restaurant where you may just go for drinks while you are waiting for a table or if you are not eating, which gives the restaurant a more laid back feel.

I had purchased a coupon for Truth over 3 years ago and never used it. I finally had the opportunity to meet a friend for dinner in the area and we decided to come here. I REALLY enjoyed almost every aspect of Truth. We met at the small bar just as you walk in the door and had a drink — nicely poured cocktails served by an efficient bartender. Once we were ready to sit down — the hostess greeted us warmly and brought us to our table along the wall. The place is comfortable with ample space between tables but with a cozy feel. I would describe it as ‘understated’ — the kind of ambiance that would be appropriate for a casual weeknight dinner or a celebration or special occasion. We settled in to scan the extensive menu. My friend asked for some guidance about her wine choice and our waitress was no help at all. She didn’t know enough to make a recommendation and frankly, had the attitude that she didn’t care to. She did manage to take our order, serve our food and get our order right so I had no complaints about the technical aspects of her service but she added nothing, and in fact detracted a star from what could have been a 5 star experience at Truth. We started off by splitting the Wedge Salad which was excellent… more like a half a head of lettuce covered in creamy blue cheese dressing and fresh tomatoes. Our dinners arrive — my friend ordered one of the steak options and I ordered the Pot Roast — based on a recommendation from her husband. The Pot Roast was amazing! A huge portion of ‘fall-apart’ meat on top of a bed of delicious mashed potatoes and carrots(slightly too many carrots for my taste but they were good). I savored every bite and brought almost half of it home and it was just as delicious the next day. My friend also enjoyed her meal. I thought the portions were huge and reasonably priced — any place where you get quality like this and a great value for your money is worth a trip. Unfortunately, our server brought our check over before I was able to tell her I had a coupon — this might explain her reaction but the coupon was on my phone app and when I showed it to her she said«just write down the information and the phone number to and I’ll have to call it in» — I explained that the instructions on the coupon say to show your phone to the server and I didn’t see a phone number for — she replied«I don’t have my glasses on, can’t see it so just write it down.» Not a great inconvenience, just another example of type of service we had on this evening. My hope is that this was an off night for her and her normal demeanor conveys an eagerness to serve and make the guest’s experience a great one. All in all — I“m absolutely thrilled with our choice to visit Truth and can’t wait to go back.

My wife and I were looking for a decent dinner before a concert in Joliet. After driving around for 20 minutes and only seeing subpar fast food options, we decided to stop at Truth and I’m glad we did. Nice setting, seemed like a «locals» type of place. We started out with the seared Ahi Tuna and it was fantastic. Dinner salads with balsamic were comforting. We both had the 14oz strip steak. Amazing! Full of flavor and the sides were great as well. Cheesy Au gratin potatoes with green beans. Drinks were well made. Was very happy with our meal!

Lunch take 2… More of the same. Coooooold restaurant and waited 5 min to be seated. Three tables full @ 12:45 on a Wed. Food quality was adequate, but not great. Service good. I fear for truth… They don’t seem to have that tenacity to make it in the future.

I really enjoyed my dinner at Truth a few weeks ago and it’s not just because of the company that I was with(Angela P.) I was served some truly tasty food that won’t soon be forgotten. Although I originally came for the Lobster Mac and Cheese, I saw the Cannelloni with Champagne sauce and my heart pitter pattered. About 5 years ago I had some crab cakes with champagne sauce and I still can’t get them out of my head. I was hoping to recreate that moment with the cannelloni. I started with the soup du jour which was mushroom and artichoke. It was very creamy and tasty, although it could have used a little seasoning. My canneoloni was delicious and had a generous portion of seafood, but it sadly wasn’t enough to fill me up all the way. I was still a little hungry even with 2 pieces of bread, the cannelloni and soup. Angela was nice enough to let me try a few bites of her lobster mac and cheese and this is a dish I would come back for. It had a little bit of a kick and was a huge portion. We also had great service. You can tell this is a family owned business, because we had a few different people stop by our table. I love when businesses do this and make sure that you enjoy everything. and we DID enjoy everything. Thank you, Truth.

The truth about TRUTH: The food is… delicious. I read about lobster macaroni & cheese, quickly bookmarked this business listing, and even more quickly did I forget why I wanted to go to TRUTH in the first place. My friend Courtney C was perusing the listing as we decided where to go to dinner and said, «lobster mac & cheese? I’m in.» For $ 16 you get a very large portion of rotini noodles in a savory and slightly spicy cheese sauce, chunks of lobster, and garnished with green onions and again, melty cheese. I also tried a cup of their soup of the day: cream of mushroom and artichoke. This soup was amazing. I was tempted to go back into the kitchen and ladle it straight from the pot into my mouth. The menu is… varied. Pastas, sandwiches, burgers — they have a little of everything. My friend had a cannelloni dish, and she really liked it but the portion was super small considering it was about the same price as my entrée. I’m not a wine snob, but the wine list was a little disappointing — Woodbridge Moscato and Kim Crawford? I’ll stick with water. The dessert menu was okay, but we decided to go to Home Cut Donuts directly across the street instead. The ambience is… confused. Joliet doesn’t have a real«downtown» area of charming boutiques and cafes, but at the corner of Raynor and Jefferson, TRUTH stands out like an oasis. It looks a little moody and romantic from the outside, and the inside is cozy and relaxed with bistro touches like linen table cloths and wide windows along the entire north wall. I liked the modern paintings on the walls, they gave the place an eclectic, gallery-like feel, but it needs some work. Some of the artwork was tacky, like framed prints my mom would’ve bought at a flea market in 1990. Sorry mom. The service is… good. Our waitress was attentive but not overly friendly or overbearing. The clientele is… mixed, but mostly an older set. The couple next to us celebrated a 70th birthday, and most groups in the restaurant(on a Tuesday evening) also appeared to be in their early 50s and older. There were also a few people seated at the bar who appeared to be locals. There aren’t a lot of fancy places in Joliet, it’s mostly fast food chains and sub-par diners and pseudo steakhouses, so it appears to me that TRUTH is regarded as a special occasion place to locals. I needed a quality, comforting meal and a relaxing evening. TRUTH delivered.

The lobster Mac and Cheese is my new must have. It is $ 16 and I can never finish it. It is so rich and creamy. Stacey on Friday or Saturday is your host that greats you when you walk through the small hallway of black and white pictures of the guest that have eaten at Truth and the owners loved ones. She knows everybody that is a regular there and laughs and jokes with new people. I always ask for Jason as my server. If he is the bartender for the night I will eat at the bar. I have never had a bad special entrée or dessert. I heart the au grain potatoes. The tuna app is my favorite. Not only is the staff friendly the people that come to eat here are a blast. The stories and the jokes that I have had here are numerous. I just wished there was outside seating for dinner.

This restaurant is hidden in plain sight. It’s on the corner of Raynor and Jefferson street in The Cathedral Area of Joliet. I loved walking in to this eclectic little place. The greetings were warm, the soft lighting in the dining room set the romantic tone. Our server, Kim, was sweet and knowledgable. We ordered the New York Strip served with au gratin potatoes and mixed vegetables. My husband ordered the au gratin I ordered a baked potato. The steak for both of us was cooked perfectly. My potato was a ok-not the best, but the steamed green beans with mushrooms and carrots were delicious. My only complaint would be the dirty butter knives my husband and I both had. From the pleasant eclectic atmosphere, warm service and the art on the wall I would recommend this for a romantic date night.
