This is hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had. It’s not the typical pulled pork you find everywhere, but a thin-​sliced pile of pork with a sweet tangy unique sauce. It is heaven on a bun. They also have great fries and onion rings, but I’m there for the barbecue.

Dixie is great, I’m a big fan of their sliced pork BBQ sandwiches. There weren’t a ton of other options on the menu, but this was so good that nothing else was needed.

So, this… THIS is the Bar B Q I grew up on. THIS is the Bar B Q upon which all others are judged. I’m not kidding. This is The Shit. Lol. It’s small town charm like you’ve only heard about or seen in movies. This place gets packed. Hasn’t changed much over the years. Fresh paint and new panelling.
I strongly encourage you to give it a shot. But, like I said, it gets packed. Lines out the door packed. If that bugs you, come during off hours.

Been going to this BBQ joint since I was young each time I come visit Southern Illinois! True ‘hole in the wall’ BBQ joint with great tasting burgers, BBQ Sandwiches & Shakes. Friendly staff and great tasting sauce, its a ‘must-​go’ when you are down in Anna. Only thing to keep in mind… they do not take CC or Debit. Make sure you have cash and you will not be disappointed.

I’ve been here many times. Want a great little place to soak in some small town feel? Then this is your place. Small and clean with little wooden booths that have been painted at least 25 times all add to the charm of the restaurant. The after thought ceiling fan wire is all small town. The pork sandwich is amazingly consistent and as far as I’m concerned, the only thing on the menu because it is the only thing I have ever ordered. The thinly sliced smoked pork and butter toasted bun is awesome. Add some of their home made sauce and it’s done deal good meal. Don’t pass this place by if you find yourself in Anna-​Jonesboro.

Grew up in Jonesboro & been many places-​there is no better BBQ & homemade BBQ sauce is best ever! My children that live far away insist on going to Dixie every time they visit-​even had to ship some BBQ sauce to son-​in-​law in Los Angeles area
Stopped in while passing by. Small town feel. BBQ wasn’t bad. A little different than others I’ve had. I would make it back. Business really picked up while I was there and I didn’t stay long.
