El Acapulco

I love Mexican food this place only get a ³⁄₅ because there are much better. Hoices in town but for the price well you get what you pay for

Pretty good, considering you’re in a Podunk town. Fast service, ok prices

One thing I seriously missed about living in the South was a place like El Acapulco.
Not «fine dining», but dining that is «fine».
Low-​priced and high-​sodium AmeriMexican combination platters aplenty. Your standard «#7 Burrito, Taco, Burrito» with rice and a mudslide of refried beans invading any empty space on the plate. Endless baskets of chips, those great little plastic milk bottle decanters of salsa and free drink refills make these places an even more attractive deal.
I like El Acapulco and with the correct expectations have never been disappointed by a meal here!

Strictly average. Sufficient but nothing more. Surely there is better Tex Mex in this place. I guess the restaurant fits the city, 2 out of 5.

Took Justine, her brothers and best friend here to celebrate her 16^th birthday. We have eaten here before and it’s festive and the food decent.
The home-​made chips are hot and delicious though the house salsa is little more than spiced ketchup. I asked the waitress for ‘muy picante’ salsa and she sent out a dish which did the trick. I also asked for a bowl of jalapenos as well. They have a large menu with lots of different combos. I had two beef Enchiladas, beef Taco, Chile Relleno along with rice and beans. Pretty tasty but not like the Mission’s eateries. The staff came out and put a sombrero on Justine’s head, singing Happy Birthday in Spanish and she got a lovely fried ice cream dessert served in a taco shell with whipped cream, compliments of the house! And for all five of us, it was about $ 28! Staff very friendly and efficient. Good place to go and have fun!
