Gina’s Bistro and Catering

Excellent food and service! Husband had country fried steak, I had grilled porkchop, kids had fried chicks and baked spaghetti and bonus daughter from Austria got to try southern collard greens! Exactly what we were looking for in a local joint! Be advised the address is different than what Unilocal has as they have moved to a new location just up the street!

I’ve been here several times over the last few months and I finally had a meal without issues. I’m hoping that they have turned the corner as I have enjoyed the food once my order and service are correct.

The experience at this restaurant was absolutely terrible! My brother and I were not greeted when we entered which normally is no problem until we noticed that every other patron was offered a warm and friendly greeting. Our waitress was rude and very unfriendly while we inquired about the menu. The service was slow and the food was greasy I would not recommend this place at all. If I could give it a ⁰⁄₅ I would.

First time @ the new location. Here with 4 friends. Waitress said the breakfast cook quit so I couldn’t get an omelette. They had run out of several menu items so our choices were limited. I’ve eaten the food here on numerous occasions both @ the old location & @ catered events and have always enjoyed it. Today I got the vegetable plate of fried okra, fried corn & black eyed peas. The peas were really good, but the okra seemed a little greasy & there was an eighth of an inch of butter around the corn bowl. A little too much for me. But the corn did have good flavor. I think I like my own cornbread better than the cornbread muffin included on my plate. That all being said I do know that the new location is larger so they are serving more people & I guess they haven’t worked out all the kinks yet. I know I will come back. However, I hope I never get the same waitress. She never brought the tarter sauce for one of the ladies at our table. We tried to get her attention to no avail. She sat @ a booth a few feet from us talking to two other customers loud enough that I could hear snatches of her conversation. She seemed to be bemoaning her job & badmouthing the establishment. Finally another friend @ our table went to the counter & got the tartar sauce. After bringing our food the waitress never came back to check on us & offer more to drink yet she came by our table several times-​just zipped on by. I think everyone @ the table left a dollar tip as did I. I later calculated my tip and it came to 13%. Wish I had left a penny instead since that tells a server that their service was really lacking. Most of the time I get good service and I always leave a 20% tip.

Great food and awesome prices. A could good variety of food. You could go here everyday for month and have never have the same thing.

Heard about this place from a co-​worker and treated myself & 2 students. The prices was very reasonable. I ordered the smothered pork chop with rice, cabbage, and mac & cheese. My students ordered fried wings cabbage, mac & cheese, and veggie medley. It was the best pork chop! Nicely seasoned and breaded. My students did not like the veggie and got it replaced with mac & cheese. Unfortunately there were no desserts and the tea & lemonade was watered and didn’t have much flavor. Overall a great experience and will be definitely returning.
