I love this place, I’ve only gone there twice, but each time my taste buds thanked me. The location is very convenient also. The lunch specials are great. Dinner prices are a bit high, but I have to say; money well spent! In conclusion, I have to remind them each time not to pile my plate with the rice.

You know how you sometimes randomly want a particular food, you don’t care about the cost, you just want to enjoy something?! Well, today that food for me was oxtails. I just wanted a nice, delectable, saucy container of oxtails to make me close my eyes and fall into a blissful dream of being in Jamaica. I typed«oxtails» in Unilocal,it popped up this restaurant, they had 4.5 stars so I was hurriedly on my way. The décor was very inviting and the customer was«island-friendly»…a warm smile with a ‘I don’t have all day’ attitude, surely I was in for a treat!!! Being my first time I decided to try the usual suspects(brown stew chicken, jerk chicken and of course, oxtails). The brown stew chicken, thankfully I ordered a kids portion. It was a tiny snack sized container piled high with rice and plantains and a small piece of chicken on top. Even if just for the rice alone there’s no way anyone could still be hungry after eating this. I truly believe that they rinsed the chicken off after cooking it, there is simply no way to explain such an extreme lack of flavor. The gravy was almost clear if that helps. I came home and finished cooking it(i.e., stewing it in onions, garlic, bell pepper and seasoning since they obviously couldn’t be bothered). The jerk chicken wasn’t bad. It is by no means authentic, it is baked chicken with a wet jerk rub on it(as opposed to the traditional way of preparing it in a jerk pan/grill). It was honestly not bad. The oxtails were maybe the best of them all but even that isn’t saying much. Best I can say is they browned it and pressured it so all I had to do when I got home was season and stew it. The rice and peas was good as were the vegetables. The vegetables were steamed and still had crunch to them. They get 2 stars for having edgy décor and good sides, but for $ 33 I can’t say I’ll be back.

Let me preface this by saying, we never had a chance to actually eat the food. We came here after getting a certificate from . When we tried to use it, they claimed it was«fraud». They said someone has put their business on there without their knowledge. Apparently this has happened before. They had no signs and offered no apology for the issue. Didn’t even bother to honor a portion of the coupon. Simply asked us either to pay full price as the only option. Either way… Food may or not have been good but their customer service was horrible in dealing with the situation. Made us feel like we had done something wrong… Drove out from Kennesaw just to be let down.

FOODCOMA!!! Jerky chicken tasty!!! Cooked perfect! Juicy and spicy! I love their rice and beans, very good! Compare I had eaten Jamaican food Mama Mi Krazy in Smyrna(whatever it spells.) it was OK but this place I’ve eaten, it’s champ!!! For a large plate costs $ 10.99 — was total $ 23.84 for me and my partner. It was worth! I highly recommend you guys to come and eat. Enjoy your meal while its last!

My partner is Jamaican so the bar is pretty high. Jamaican Taste surpassed all expectations! We got the early special, two plates of grilled jerk chicken with rice and peas as well as vegetables for $ 5 each. The portions were perfect and a great value for the price. The food was delicious! He got his plain I had mine with extra jerk bbq sauce, it was spicy but so so good. The restaurant is immaculately clean, bathrooms included. The staff was super nice. Seriously, we were very impressed with this establishment and would be here weekly if we didn’t live an hour and half away.

The décor of this place is awesome. You won’t even feel like you’re in Jonesboro anymore once you walk in. Now all that’s missing is a view of the beach. Great food and they also have vegetable pattie.

As a native NY’er I’m always on the hunt for good Jamaican food. Jamaican Taste does not disappoint. The restaurant is well-lit, colorful and the staff is very friendly. The food is excellent. Everything taste like it’s right out of Grandmom’s kitchen. I’ve had almost the whole menu and there are no complaints. Even my picky eater daughter is always happy and satisfied with her food. Everything from the oxtails to the stewed chicken and curry chicken is great. It’s a regular stop in our«no-cooking Friday» rotation.

Excellent flavorful food and exceptional customer service. My brother and I were road weary trying to find a place to eat before retiring on our 5th stop along a cross country road trip from Seattle to Orlando. We decided to give this place a try, being close to our Airbnb reservation when we were given an warm greeting and a free pink lemonade for being first time guests. We were so low on blood sugar, tired and hungry… we found ourselves overwhelmed by the variety of menu selections looking and smelling quite tasty. A few recommendations were given to us and we decided on trying the most popular selling items including the oxtail and the jerk chicken… AMAZING!!! Best Jamaican food I’ve had. I loved the plantains, cabbage, and dirty brown rice that come with the meal. Great food, great staff and nice clean environment.

Coming here I was nervous! But once I walked in I just knew it would be good! They have all kinds of specials: daily specials, deals throughout the day depending on the time, which means everyday there’s a deal unlike other jamaican spots on the Southside! Their food is good(no dry rice, plantations are nice and moist and the ox tails half fatty half meat :), the cabbage is okay) ! Nice workers that are patient! I’m surprised they don’t have more reviews! Hopefully this will help !

Great Jamaican food in Jonesboro, GA. Food is always fresh and you can’t beat the lunch specials. Where else can you get lunch with a drink for $ 4.99? Also, they play live music on the last Friday of the month. A really nice neighborhood place to eat.
