My wife and I were passing through Jonesboro and stopped here because it was, at the time, the highest rated restaurant in Jonesboro. We were not disappointed. We ordered the crawfish dip, the salmon salad, and the fried green tomato sandwich. All were excellent, but the standout was definitely the sandwich. First, it was served with a side of some really lovely fries, a cross between curly and wedge I found to be perfectly crisp on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The sandwich was both delicious and innovative, featuring cornmeal-breaded green tomatoes, fresh red tomatoes, bacon, jalepenos, cornbread, and some sort of creamy dressing. We also enjoyed the dip, served with fried wontons in lieu of chips or bread. Our server, Daniel, said he was new to the restaurant, but we thought he was great. He was very friendly without being overly(read: annoyingly) attentive and the service was quick. The prices were reasonable, as well. The atmosphere was delightfully contrasting. You could tell that we were near a college campus: the interior was bright and modern, many of the dishes were fusion-y, and the server had a neatly trimmed beard that would not have been out of place in Brooklyn. You could also tell that we were in Arkansas: all of the TV’s were tuned to SEC basketball coverage and some of the patrons were wearing hunting fatigues. Please note: this place bills itself first and foremost as a steakhouse(there are giant steaks painted on the window) and we did not try any steak. You’ll have to rely on other reviews for that.

OMG the most delicious steak ever! We live in Illinois now, but my wife and I come eat at skinny j’s every trip to visit family in Jonesboro. My wife had a favorite beverage that the restaurant across the street made, but turns out one of the skinny j’s servers USED to work across the street! So she made her the beverage & put the recipe for it under the register so my wife could get it even if she weren’t there! What service!

Nice casual steakhouse. The prime rib burger was really good and decadent. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly but I didn’t like that it was drowned in butter and had a very salty seasoning on it. The crawfish dip was a good idea but didn’t taste that great.

I came for lunch and it was okay. The oysters, yeah not so good. I love oysters. Just not there. The burger is pretty good. It was very thick and juicy. I didn’t like the way they made their fries. Service was good though.

Great place severed by great people. My steak was fantastic and the sweet tea is awesome. I highly recommend it and will go back again. I get the crawfish dip every time Mrs. Sarah it is to die for love it.

Came in here because the place we were headed to was not open. Great choice. It took a while for us to receive our food but it was well worth the wait. Huge ½ lb. burgers were cooked perfectly. No burning on the outside and no pink on the inside, but were still very juicy and flavorful. The fries were thick whorls of potato. Again, cooked perfectly. We’ll remember Skinny J’s if we ever pass this way again. Very friendly waiter, too!

No welcome. Medium well steak was well done. Bottled Miller Lite tastes like metal. Would not recommend.

The burgers are wonderful. Love them. The service is so slow. I’ve been there several times and not once have I had prompt service from the server.

Food is good but the acoustics are not. Just a little loud for me. The burgers are very good as well as the steak. If you are not a fan of loud background noise, than this isn’t the place for you. I still eat here but have to go in early.

My complaints will be short and few as we had an overall great experience here. The bads were this… our table was in a high traffic area, where i think a table had no business being at all. But we dealt with it and hid on one side of the table as best we could to avoid being bumped into by the staff and drunk customers. The other bad was a large party of folks who were obnoxious and loud, and the echo didn’t help their eagerness to annoy the piss out of everyone in the restaurant but themselves. They were completely asinine. Now…here’s the best part. The food was incredible! Better than Ruth’s Chris!!! And much better on the price too! This is our new favorite place to be. It IS our go to date night spot now. I got the Bad Boy, medium, with grilled asparagus, a loaded potato, and the sherry button mushrooms. All were phenomenal. It was soooo good. I highly recommend this place. The staff was quirky and fun. Some even looked like they were having a great time working in this environment. I know I’d have loved it when I was a waitress back in the day. I was in so much pain when we left. The food was so good I just couldn’t stop eating. Go! Enjoy! And don’t mind the idiots. It’s worth it! What are you waiting for??? GO! GONOW!

Was back here for lunch yesterday, and while it’s pretty impossible to get in/out in an hour when you have a 10 minute drive to/from the place, leaving only 40 minutes to get food and eat, it was pretty decent. They no longer have the Ahi Tuna Nachos, but they now have a Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer that is good. The Black and Bleu salad was good, although I would have like the steak to have been cut into smaller pieces.

They had excellent service and excellent food! Portion sizes were larger than I expected. The waitress was able to keep all receipts in order which I found amazing since there were nine of us. I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap and it was great! The burgers were huge. We went back later and ordered dessert and the smore egg rolls were delicious.

I had the ribeye with frys and Mac n cheese. Very good! I also went during happy hour and had a pitcher of beer for $ 5 — they had live music. I wasn’t into it but cool atmosphere. Very easy to find too at the end of the main strip.

I have never had a bad experience here, that’s why I chose it as my birthday dinner go-to this year. There were 11 of us, on a Friday night, along with a couple other bigger tables, and service was so smooth and speedy. The food and entertainment were great, along with the drinks! All of us had randomly different meals and drinks, and the plates were cleaned! :) Great dining experience for us!

Nice bar and grille! Been a few times now and never have had a bad experience. Burgers are great and LOVE the fried pickles! Was excited when I found out that I could sub my side to upgrade to a side of those pickles!(Its not mentioned on the menu but our awesome waitress let me know when I told her my struggle with wanting pickles but didn’t want a big basket). Menu has lots of options to please any pallet. My mom requires gluten free options and she had no problem finding a really delish grilled chicken breast covered in bruschetta. She didn’t stop raving about it all meal! Cool atmosphere here! Live bands on weekends… great drinks! Cannot go wrong with this choice!

Easily one of the best steaks you will find in Jonesboro. If you love steak and believe that you should not have to use steak sauce to have flavor, then this is your place. Great place to eat and unwind from a long day. Everything you order will be just the way you expect it to be.

Great little find in downtown Jonesboro! The turkey melt is delicious, loaded with turkey & melted pepper jack cheese on a pretzel bun. The homemade chips are very good, too. My lunch partner had the fried green tomato sandwich with fries, which looked awesome. Very relaxed, rustic vibe, with friendly, efficient service, too!

Excellent food! I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve ordered. The crawfish dip is a must order. Funnily enough one of my favorite things here is their hamburger buns! It is some of the freshest bread I’ve ever had.
