Sonic Drive-In

Going to this Sonic is a joke, and the true definition of insanity. Every time I go, I think that I’ll miraculously get better service. The girls ALWAYS have an unprofessional disposition. This time my husband and I went to get slushies about 6pm today and the machine was down. I give credit where it’s due, so the woman working the drive thru did offer an alternative option, to our surprise. Keep her if you figure out who she is. We tried again at 11:42pm and after sitting in the drive thru for a couple of minutes a young Asian female came out of the door behind the menu and said «we’re closed now to clean the store» and walked off. It was not midnight. I used to be a server and we served people who walked in one minute before closing. I have never taken time to write a review on the poor service this location provides 9.5 times out of 10, but tonight takes the cake. Don’t allow this review to change your mind about all Sonic locations, just save yourself the trouble/​frustration and choose any location other than Pointe South. You’ll be disappointed.
There was a Caucasian young man who provided us with excellent service once. I think his name was Matthew. We haven’t seen him again though. The culture of that location wasn’t right for him anyways. I hope he went right across the street to work at McDonald’s. Now that’s some excellent guest service!

I don’t like their food. At all. Once we ordered a grilled chicken combo meal and a children’s chicken tender meal and everything tasted exactly the same. The fries, tenders, onions rings, just bland. The grilled chicken sandwich had zero flavor and the lettuce and tomato must be genetically modified cause even those tasted like air. The winner is the Slushies though. Half hour happy hour works as a mini family outing. Two Slushies, a children’s Hi-​C and a medium shake (not half off) came in around $ 6. Now that’s a win! I may try some other foods in the future but so far it’s not worth it.

Whoooooo it amazes me how anyone can work in a customer service job. Literally sat at the drive in area for 15 minutes after ordering, and nothing. But let me assure you, there were plenty of employees just sitting and standing around outside.
So we go to the drive thru, and man, what kind of idiot did they have on the mic?
«Can I have a small Oreo caramel shake and a medium coconut cream pie shake?»
«OK…so you want a coconut shake in what size?»
«No, a MEDIUM coconut cream pie shake.»
«OK…so you want an Oreo shake and caramel shake?»
«No, an OREO CARAMEL SHAKE. A small one.»
«OK, so you want an Oreo shake or a caramel shake?»
«I want an Oreo caramel shake. Together. On the menu.»
«OK so you want an Oreo shake with caramel in it?»
«YES.»
And we drive forward… And realize they have no window… whaaaa?
They only get a star because the food came out good and hot. But whoever that female was… wow. And us waiting outside for nothing…
Good mozzarella sticks and shakes though!

I came here with my son twice now and we’ve had great service everytime! It’s so convenient to sit in your car while you wait for the food. This is definitely great for people with infants and babies that would just like to sit in the car and order food that is delivered at your service. Ya, I know there are drive-​thrus, but the difference between Sonic and a drive-​thru is that you’re not being rushed to order and leave. You can order in the courtesy of your car and the choice to eat after you’ve received your meal. Don’t forget to tip the lovely ladies. Love it!

Sonics is my favorite spot for a quick breakfast before work. I’ve become addicted to their tots and slushies. I’ve had numerous compliments about the staff including a breakfast on them on one morning. It took me by surprise when I asked one particular day if they have turkey or chicken sausages and the response was «ma’am sausage is pork.» I think the lady may have tried to laugh at me for asking, but the joke was on her due to her ignorance. I settled for just tots because she said that the pork could not be substituted for chicken. Which kinda pissed me off, but oh well. I’ve been back numerous times and never a bad experience again. I’d surely recommend.

I really like Sonic’s. The food is always nice and fresh. The beverages seem to always hit the spot… And the Onion Rings are addictive. I had to stop coming to this place because I enjoyed EVERYTHING that I tried here. They have Breakfast Burrito’s, Croissant sandwiches, French Toast sticks, Hot Dogs (I’ve had better), Chicken Fingers and Sandwiches and of course pretty good Hamburgers. Did you know that they serve a Patti Melt that some locations do not show on the menu??? Well now you know and you can thank me later for that extra 10 pounds you gain this year from ordering IT! :) And I always need that piece of pepper mint after I eat here.
Oh wait, there I am talking about food when the main reason I come here is because I like to consume my calories via liquids. Root Beer Floats are at the top of my list, they have Milk Shakes (also made with REAL ICE CREAM), Banana Splits, Sundae’s, Limeades, Fruit Slushes and Sodas as well.

First of All I’m not rating Sonics on their food, I’m rating them on their drinks! So many flavors to mix and match or go plain… its so much fun! Ok so I went today for «happy hour» 2pm– 5pm all drinks half off and I orded a lemon berry slush for me and hubby, 2 small orange slushes and 1 green apple slush for the boys (they don’t have the apple juice slush anymore). The drinks were great and it only came out to $ 3.00! Everyone enjoyed it and they boys think I’m the bomb because they get treats like slushes after school. Don’t forget to try their cherry limeade its so good. Have fun!
