The beer has consistently gotten better with each batch in my opinion. The original microbrewery of the Tri Cities and probably the one with the highest quality beer! The new Gose and hoppy pale ale are top notch and worth the travel!

Only locals would give this place anything better than 2 stars. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff. Probably the worst small brewery beer out there. It’s just not good. I’ve been there 5ish times. I live in Jonesborough so I want to like the beer. I really, really do… but it just isn’t good. The Freight Hopper IPA is probably their best(obviously an opinion), but their new«supper hoppy Velicipee»(or whatever it’s called) was truly disappointing. Some talented brewers work there… so I am not sure why the beers are so throttled… This could be a winner. should be a winner… but it’s not. .Honestly, only the folks who hang out there would give it more than 2 stars… there are SOMANY better breweries around if you’re willing to drive. Heck, just run to JC and go to Atlantic Ale House… it’s not a brewery, but they sell better beers there… 3 – 4 stars for the atmosphere. 1 star for the actual beer…

Great spot. Laid back and friendly. Great Beer and getting more selections. We have been here several times and never been disappointed. They also are getting food trucks here most weekends, check their Facebook page for up to date info!

Loose Caboose Lager. Seriously, go try it. Few small-batch breweries devote the time & resources required for a lager & this one is delicious! I’ve had their beer for years(back when they first started brewing & you walked into what was just a small warehouse in order to get a growler filled). Recently visited the actual taproom & the vibe was ok… not our favorite, but I can definitely see others feeling at home here. The people were nice enough & the Bocce court & outdoor seating would be great fun in the summer.

I really like their beer! I really dislike the staff at the brewery. It was my first time to the brewery but not my first time trying their beer. The dark haired lady working that day was short with her answers and demanding with her requests. Just not welcoming or friendly at all and my buddy and I were the only ones there. You think they would be happy to have customers. No tasting, not even a tiny half once. As stated, I have had there beer before but could not remember which one I liked. You have to pay for a pint or get three other beers you don’t want in a flight. I’ve never encountered an establishment that didn’t offer a taste, especially the brewery! I will think twice before buying their beer and will NOT return to the brewery.

Well, this is my first Unilocal review as I am compelled to let everyone know including the owner of this establishment how bad their service is. The owner as well as the young lady who was serving beer were perhaps the two most unpleasant people I have ever had the displeasure to meet. In fact, I am upset that I even stayed at this place to finish the beers that we ordered. They simply treat their customers as if they are a nuisance and a waste of their time — completely nuts! Please do not patronize a business that simply has no idea how to treat customers. The location is cool, but the beers are well below average; of the 8 beers in the sampler, I could only finish one of them, the others were simply awful. Their IPA was tolerable, but I suspect that it would also taste terrible anywhere but in a brewery. Dear proprietor — take a hint — you are a rude and condescending person — I hope that you can address this and salvage any hopes of becoming a long-term member of this otherwise very cool community. Based on my service yesterday, you truly deserve to go bankrupt!

Not a bad place really with very good use of the available space. A few places to sit downstairs and plenty more upstairs in the Loft and even more yet outside near the Bocce Court. The beer is of fair quality and all members of the staff seem to be welcoming and kind. Pretty good place to go and hang out with a few friends on a nice Spring/Summer day. «B+ rating overall»

I love it. It’s like a great little dive bar with local Southern hospitality. I may or may not have gifted the proprietors with a bottle of homemade kahlua at Xmas when I was picking up a couple o’ growlers. Bocci ball on the patio. I thought bocce ball was that game at the fair where you roll a ball up a ramp into hoop circles? Anyhow, glad to see a lot of the best local restaurants stocking DS beers. They have some seasonal beers sometimes. One of the coolest places in our cool, queer, little town. Seasonal beers for the adventurous. There’s a ginger tinted one this summer… Crazy Train. It was good for a taste for me. Taste is a matter of taste. Ride the Rail is a Belgian… tasty. The sweeter Eurail Gold is still my fave. Looks like live music happens here sometimes. Microbrews are a great thing about living in these times. Much better than that dreary Medieval period. All those rats and that damned plague and what not. Anyhow, they don’t stay open all night so plan accordingly.

Nice little local brewery with good beer. Couple tables inside when it is cold with much more seating outside. Good folks running the place. Stop by and have a good beer in the oldest town in Tennessee. Mike Foster the master brewerer gave me a tour of the operation. Limited hours: Wed & Fri — 3:00 — 8:00pm; Sat -12:00 — 8:00pm (423) 753‑7628

We love Depot Street! It’s a great place to grab a beer on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Lots of picnic tables in the back and a really nice bocce ball court. There’s always a few players around and they’ll even let our daughter throw a few. Bring your own snacks or order in and don’t forget your growler!

Definitely check out this brewery. The people are super cool, you can taste all the beers before buying, and growlers are very reasonably priced. Check it out!
