By the time we hit the shop at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon(half an hour before they closed), there wasn’t a huge selection left to pick from. I tried the Bond James Bond. The cupcake itself was a bit dry, with a soft cocoa-y flavor — not as chocolatey as I’d like — but sprinkled throughout with a decent number of chocolate chips. The dollop of chocolate icing on top suffered from the same oddly-muted flavor, tasting to me more like brown sugar and cocoa powder instead of a true chocolate frosting. The vanilla bean icing was overly abundant, with nice texture but perhaps a bit too sweet for my tastes. Frosting fanatics, take note! You can get an icing shot here without having to invest in the cake part, if you feel like that’s a waste of your time and calories. My sample of a friend’s Cinnamon Peach was similarly dry to the cake on mine, but the cinnamon and peach flavors came through well, with visible swirls of cinnamon and juicy chunks of peach. My other companions all seemed to enjoy their Peanut Butter/Reese’s Pieces cakes, although my husband did comment that his vanilla bean«Cloud» cupcake wasn’t as good as what you can find in some of the cupcake shops we like at home in Charlotte. Still, the atmosphere in downtown J’boro is hard to beat, and wandering around its streets with a Crazy Cupcake ain’t a bad way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon. Prices are very fair, with single cupcakes at $ 2.50 or 6 packs for $ 12. The staff was really friendly and helpful, too!

Very good cupcakes. Good flavors and assortment. Cake was moist and good frosting. Not to overpowering. Shop was easy to find.
