So, a lot has changed at the good olé Lone Star Bar. Most of you will be happy to know there is now no smoking inside, but you can smoke it up in the back. You can still bring in your own bottle & they’ll sell you the set ups. Dogs are allowed in the back now! This is a one of a kind dive bar with a great selection of legendary country music (not top chart stuff!) on the juke box and a great group of locals who will gladly welcome you into their clan on the picnic tables. They have great live music & a fun karaōke night each weekend along with pool tournaments, open mike & bike nights during the week. Probably my favorite day is Sunday afternoon when there’s typically a great jam session in the backyard. If you’re wanting to go somewhere where eventually everyone will know your name and you feel special and welcomed every time you walk through the gate, this needs to become your home bar!

ME: «Oh. What do you have on tap?»
BARTENDER: «No taps.»
ME: «How about a Lone Star?»
BARTENDER: «We’re outta Lone Star.»
ME: «Guinness?»
BARTENDER: «Outta that, too.»
ME: «…Shiner?»
BARTENDER: «Sure.»
But it’s cute, wood-​filled (double entendre), the stale cigarette smoke reminds me of my grandma’s house, and they play classic rock. So I think I’ll stay for a beer or two.

What a great dive bar! Cheap bears, great people, and off the beaten path. If you are ever North of LT you really should stop by. Order food from Parrain’s Louisiana Kitchen right next door and bring it in to Lone Star to eat. Went with my small kids during day and it was safe and the people were all so nice.

Everything you have read is true! This place is great! We don’t just love going to the bar unless we are with a group, but we just happened to wander into The Star and ended up having an absolute blast! All the regulars are super friendly, so prepare to be engaged! I’m kinda leery of new folks, but these guys are just too much fun! Last time I went I ran into a cat that gave me a free tarot reading! You never know what you’re gonna run into!
On that note, you should also know that you might just get shit-​talked to if the night wears long or the drinking’s too strong. Don’t take it personally, the next time you come back it’ll be all different! This place is a good ol’ country bar complete with sing-​a-​longs, lots of woohooing, plus you can smoke inside! Good redneck fun!

Good olé’ country bar! Yeeehaw! My friends and I were from out of town and it was apparent when we walked in, but all the locals were so friendly and greeted us with smiles :)
The one thing that sucked was they only serve beer and wine, but! You can bring your own liquor in! That is so amazing to me.
The band that night was playing great cover songs. Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bad Company etc. Everyone was dancing and boot scootin boogieing!

This bar is like a country bar from 60 years ago. I wish i had taken a photo to upload because you kinda have to see it to believe it. Rustic décor, picnic tables out back with smokers. Perfect for a cold beer on a Saturday, lots of friendly regulars. Ashtrays every where. OK, I am from California and I happen to smoke, but in California you can’t even light up at the Ocean and forget about a bar. Did i say ashtrays everywhere? I mean at least three ashtrays per customer, even in the ladies room. I hear there is live music here as well. I will definitely be back and will bring the camera next time.
