This is a pretty decent Cracker Barrel. I stop here every so often and have had no complaints: the food is good, the place is clean, they keep me filled up with Coffee, and the service is prompt. I really enjoy the store, too… Lots of neat stuff!

They’re all the same. Food is ok. Worst thing about any Cracker Barrel is the humanity. Old people, tourists, and the like. Lots of fat, mouth breathers(but much better than a Golden Corral or Ryan’s buffet) eating with their mouths open and talking loudly about various gross illnesses. So it’s an ok place but you need to know what kind of clientele you’ll be dining with. Bön appetit.

Good food as always but the best thing about this CB was our server Chelsea. She was very attentive and sweet as she could be. Thank you Chelsea!!!

Actually, this isn’t a bad Cracker Barrel as far as the chain goes… if you can get served. It was a Tuesday night at 8, and over three quarters of the restaurant was empty. I get that there was a large party there, but there were plenty of servers just milling about doing nothing. After ten minutes without so much as a, «we’ll be with you I a moment,» we just left, because I don’t trust servers after I’ve complained about them. Third time that has happened at this location. Last time we waited over 20 minutes though.

I’ve always liked Cracker Barrel. I ordered the chicken-n-dumplings, hashbrown casserole and pinto beans.($ 7.99) The apple butter for the biscuits was delicious.(you have to ask for it) The onions and chow-chow for the pinto beans was also great. Service was very good. No matter which Cracker Barrel I’ve ever been too, it’s always the same.(good quality, good food)

Worst barrel experience ever. They were«saving» all the potatoes of any type for tomorrow, Thanksgiving. This was our family’s Thanksgiving and it put everyone off. We will not come here again

Delicious food, amazing friendly service, and good prices. Can’t beat the southern charm and atmosphere. It is December and they have a huge fire going, which is a nice touch.

It’s a CB, just like any other. Service was good. Just learned about their Wholesome menu. If the wholesome items are under 600 calories, I hate to even think about the regular menu items. In any case, I’m not giving up the real maple syrup — no matter what !!

Our family was making a day trip and stopped for breakfast at the Elkin Cracker Barrel. The visit was disappointing for a couple reasons. First the waitstaff seemed inattentive. When we were first seated I asked for a high chair for my one year old. The hostess indicated she would get one. After five minutes of waiting I had to track down a highchair myself and take it back to my table. Also, when we got our biscuits and grits there was no butter or jelly offered. We had to ask for this separately. When we asked for butter and jellly though only jelly was provided. We got frustrated and didn’t ask for the butter again. Also, I’m disappointed with the value that we got. We spent $ 30 including tip for breakfast and I thought the food was mediocre. We wanted to have a quality sit-down breakfast, but I feel like what we got was a poor value. I felt like we paid $ 30 to eat food who quality was on par with a fast food restaurant. The eggs were pale looking, the biscuits were tiny, and the bacon and sausage were overcooked. We make the day trip we took today on an annual basis, and we decided we will not be patronizing Cracker Barrel on this trip next year. We will go to McDonalds because we feel like we can get the same quality food at half the price with better service to boot.

Let me just say that I’m easy to please with restaurants when I travel. Serve me a semi– decent meal that looks like what I ordered and I’m happy. So for me to take the time to complain about this restaurant says a lot. From the rudeness of the waitress to the scammy portions to the incorrect order it was a total horror show. By the way this is intended for the restaurant in Elkin a town I would not let my dog throw up in. I guess small towns in NC result in small, inbred minds with bad manners. Two words for Elkin: screw you!
