Golden Corral

It may be extremely busy on the weekends, but all of the staff are doing their jobs effectively and efficiently. Besides the food lines, I didn’t have to wait for anything. Great place to sit and enjoy a meal.

Great food. Wonderful service. I recommend the bourbon chicken, salad bar and chocolate lava cake, but there is a little of everything. Pizza, taco bar, roast and potatoes, steak, Chinese, ice cream and they recently started having breakfast on the bar all day.
If you go on a holiday like mothers/​fathers day or valentines day, there is a line out into the parking lot, but if you are willing to wait, it is worth it. The last time we went on mothers day all the mothers got a coupon for 50% off your next visit but it expired the day before fathers day.
I have also gone here for our church Christmas parties and they are always very accommodating.
It does get crowded and loud on weekends. If that bothers you then I recommend the lunch buffet instead.

We went on a Saturday evening to this popular all-​you-​can-​eat chain and just should’ve known better. By reputation it’s most popular with senior citizens and sports teams, both of which were represented in the chaos of our experience. It was loud, extremely crowded and more than I wanted to pay for a simple plate of food, but we were there for a birthday, not our own choice. It was a miserable dining experience.
That said, I’ve been there at other times when it isn’t so crowded and you can get food without waiting in line forever and it was much better. Food isn’t anything special, but there’s an impressive variety; truly something for everyone. Personally, I recommend the Bourbon Chicken, it’s fantastic. But bring a big appetite, because there’s really only one good reason to visit an all-​you-​can-​eat joint, and it isn’t the quality of the fare!

There’s something for everyone at Golden Corral, and then some! Just make sure you «come hungry» so you can get a taste of several things & ya don’t miss out. This was my second visit to this GC (unfortunately, we don’t have any in NYC). Then again, maybe we’re better off not having access to THIS much food! Lol! Went on a weekday so the prices are a little less expensive. There’s a decent selection of food to pick from! Let me rephrase that… There’s a HUGE amount of FOOD to pick from! And the food is damn good for a buffet! The salad bar is kinda small but then again, if you’re going to Golden Corral, you probably won’t wanna fill up on salad. I do enjoy some salad with my meal. This last time I went, I decided to have my salad in between the main course & dessert! All in all, a great bang for the buck! Mmmm Mmmm good!
Tip: Order/​pay on the way in. After you’re seated, the wait staff will come around to refills drinks & remove plates… to make room for new plates! Yep… «come hungry»!! :-)

Only been here few times traveling through and the service from the staff are friendly and great always are helpful when needed something. Plenty of seating and food to choose from.

Sundays and Saturdays are expensive (12 bucks for a person). Normal days are cheaper (8.50) and not crowded. Try to avoid having drinks. $ 2.50 for a drink. Water is good. The food is absolutely nice. Everything is great.

We knew going in that this was a buffet, we would be serving ourselves and that it’s a family restaurant. It’s a good sign when the parking lot is nearly full at 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday! Food was hot and delicious, our drinks were regularly filled without asking, and the price was right. It was so nice to have mashed potatoes WITHOUT skins, and steak fries that were the right size and fried just right. Dessert was strawberry shortcake so good that I had to have two!

I’ve visited many Golden Corral restaurants in several states and found the quality of food in Joplin, Missouri to be superior. I can’t comment on their desserts because I rarely have room for any, but they seem to have a nice selection from which to choose. Everything is fresh and well presented.

It’s quite expensive for a buffet it was 76 $ for five adults. It’s a bit hectic when there’s a lot of people in the restaurant. There was a good verity of food selection the food was decent. But on the other hand some dishes like the Mac and cheese where too mushy. And the red grilled chicken looked a bit raw and tasteless. The service was really good the waitress would bring us drinks every time, and take our dirty plates along with ease. But one thing that needs work is the cleanliness on the floors they where dirty and needed some moping. I even saw a girl slip on the tile because it was very greasy.
This is a case of quantity over quality.

I worked at a Golden Corral when I was in high school and have many great memories about the job and the great people that I worked with back in those days. Ah, nostalgia…
I don’t know what it is exactly, but the last few times we have been to a Golden Corral, I have left the restaurant wondering why I keep going back. The food is just mediocre and it really isn’t cheap. It was $ 26 for my fiancé and I to eat lunch and it was not worth it. There are many choices on the buffet, but the problem is that everything is just mediocre. Nothing stands out and leaves you thinking: «wow, that was great.» I love the hot rolls and they were the best thing that I had to eat. I was disappointed in the steak from the buffet, as it was not cooked the way I requested. It is not surprising as one cook left the grill and a different cook took over as I walked up to the buffet. How did he know how long everything had been on the grill if he just took over? He didn’t and just guessed (wrong).
The service was fine, but the only thing the servers do anymore is fill your drink. Servers used to bring rolls to your table, extra plates, complimentary coffee after your meal, but not anymore. Basically everything is self-​service except for the drinks.
One other thing that bothered me about the restaurant was how close the tables were in the dining room. We could barely walk between the tables to get to the buffet and back. I felt like we were having lunch with the table next to us and behind us. It was uncomfortable.
As we walked out of the restaurant today, I asked my fiancé to remind me next time I think I want to go to Golden Corral that I will just be disappointed and to remind me to go somewhere else instead.

I used to love Golden Corral and buffets, but even though I was craving a buffet restaurant for lunch, I was very disappointed that the food here is mostly gross. You can get fresh foods on the salad bar, but the main foods like lasagna, chicken, mac n cheese etc are not tasty. Most are over cooked and tasteless.
None the less, if you are on a budget and are really hungry, this isn’t a bad place to try since it is all-​you-​can-​eat.

It’s a buffet. The food is good and mostly fresh. The ambience is definitely lacking. It’s not expensive. This was my second time here… I wasn’t any more impressed than the 1^st time.
