The Y is only too busy if you go at peak times (like every other gym in the world)! I went over at 2pm and had the weight room to myself. I was traveling through Joplin and wanted a place to work out. They offer a day pass for $ 10.
The weight room has precor and cybex brand machines. All In good shape. They have a good compliment of free weights and racks also.
Other than weights, there is an aerobic room with a slew of machines. A large indoor rubber track with four lanes circles the upstairs.
Large indoor pool.
Locker room is large and they will provide you with a lockable locker. Floor was a little littered with some trash but overall clean.
I can definitely recommend for travelers.

Joplin, MO
Looks nice but its too busy, too open, and there’s no steamroom sauna or hot tub. There’s also usually an employee upstairs watching people work out, wasting our membership dollars
