It is exactly what you would expect. No more no less. If Hobby Lobby does close (right now just a rumor with the source being the head of the company closing all stores is a possibility) I can not think of another store of this nature here in Joplin, but I could be wrong on that.
You do have to play their «coupon game» as another reviewer put it so perfectly!

I strongly prefer this store to its local competitors. It’s always clean and organized and for anything crafty it’s guaranteed to be my first stop. The staff here is always very helpful. When they start to get busy, they actually call more cashiers to the front of the store (something you will never see in Hobby Lobby). I never get the impression that Michael’s is a store «just for crafters» or «only for artists»…which is a huge issue with many specialty and craft stores I have visited. I appreciate their days and hours of operation, which make it easy for me to keep up with my creative hobbies even as a 9 – 5 employee. The only thing standing in the way of a 5 star review is not actually at store level anyway, but the exhausting «sale prices» in alternating departments and categories which necessitate playing the coupon game. I would rather they had low prices all of the time and didn’t go that route, but again this isn’t at store level.
