The old Wall Street Mill is a deserted gold stamp mill in the middle of Joshua Tree park. The building was constructed in the early 20th century to press gold from other materials mined from the desert and still stands today largely the same. You can’t go inside due to a fence, but can get a good idea of the entirety of the structure from outside. The path to the mill is easy and flat, but bring water as there is no shade and it gets very hot under the sun. Along the way are a nice variety of plants including the Joshua Trees and desert scrub. There are also several abandoned old cars along the path and a wind powered water pump.

Beautiful, easy 2.2 mile hike to a peculiarly well preserved mill in the middle of Joshua Tree. Be sure to have a tetanus shot.
