Stopped by for a morning breakfast and wow! I had the Wrangler Omelet and it was delicious ! It was served with bacon, sausage, ham, and melted cheese. Also, try the biscuits and gravy– literally dynamite! The servers was outstanding. Paula was extremely friendly and accommodating. This is a must try!

I do not understand how this place has 4 stars! If I could give it negative stars I would!!! The burgers suck! They’re dry and the buffalo is over cooked. Buffalo is not supposed to be well done… The fries are decent… Don’t get the garlic Parmesan fries. The cheese isn’t even melted and it’s not that great. I would love to know if their scales work because the ¼ pound burgers are no where near that. This place sucks. Please… Go else where! I was so disappointed!!! Also, after a few days, we still feel sick from this place!!! PLEASEAVOIDTHISPLACE!!!

Super hungry after strollong around Julian and looking for a fresh meal? This is the place. Big portions, awesome service, fair price. Recommend the half sandwich half salad(8.95) Turkey sandwhich on rye was in point and it was huge, too! Buffalo burger came with a bunch of fries with cajun seasoning, pair it with a beer and you’re set! Will comeback many times.

We came into Buffalo Bills for lunch and sat on the outside patio since we brought our dog. It has a great hometown feel and everyone was very friendly. The service was great and they even had some live guitar playing outside, which was great! The food was outstanding, especially the zucchini curry soup. Highly recommend!

Stopped here while walking around Julian for the day and wouldn’t have known it was there if we hadn’t just wandered by. My friend and I both had the Buffalo burgers and fries and they were exactly what we were craving! The owner was our waitress and she was very attentive and personable. We loved all the Wild West decorations and will definitely go back on our next trip to Julian.

Don’t expect some fancy tourist trap. Expect rib-lining, hangover-curing food, delightful staff that makes you feel at home(Michelle was a delight!), and a lovely, dog-friendly front patio with a quaint view. Nothing could have satisfied us after a long night of camping like Buffalo Bill’s.

UPDATE: Was contacted by the owner and she was very apologetic. Customer service was a priority with my review and the way we were treated. I’m raising my review from a 1 star to a 3 star. It’s apparent to me that she’s sorry and will make sure this doesn’t happen again.;). THANKYOU!!! Came in yesterday which was Thursday afternoon the 31st of March. It was me, my partner, my best friend and my German Shepard service dog whom was clearly marked. I walked inside and the waitress said 2 guests grab a seat inside anywhere that’s available I said no 3 and a dog and we would like to sit outside. She said outside was closed. Well while I was using the bathroom my lady friend over heard the waitress tell the 2 gentleman sitting in a booth that we had a dog and she wanted us to sit outside. My partner came inside and she also told him I’d prefer you sit outside. Well we wanted to sit outside but for her to disregard my service animal is discrimination. Perhaps your sever/waitress needs American disability act training. We have dined before and the waitress was aware and kind and treated us as if we were like everyone else. Restaurants and any public space can be fined and even closed for disregarding or treating people with a disability woth discrimination and with a attitude. Well anyways we went outside and sat. We waited 5 minutes no one came and we left. The waitress was rather rude, lacked Ada training, and left making a person with a disability feeling like a freak. Thanx a lot!!! All we wanted was lunch and for my dog and Me and my company to be treated as everyone else!

The potato salad was incredible. The buffalo burgers were so good. Parmesan garlic fries too. Our server was such a sweetheart! She was attentive and funny and made sure that we had a great dining experience. I would totally come back if I was ever in Julian. The apple cider was super good too. You could tell it was fresh. Julian is pretty adorable also.

I love eating at Buffalo Bills. The food on the new dinner menu is awesome and the staff is super friendly. The rosemary chicken is mouth watering. This is the best small town diner I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. I must stress small town and small diner. So people who come into this small town and visit any of the restaurants in Julian on a busy holiday weekend should expect a wait. You’re lucky if you even get in. If you are one of those people who raced to put in a bad Unilocal review because you didn’t get your way, shame on you. Just take a chill pill and relax! It’s Julian, not New York! Pull the stick out of your rear end and have a glass of wine while you wait.

This place is great with very friendly staff and really good chow! I enjoyed my experience here with my family and I want to dispel all the bad reviews out there about Buffalo Bill’s. Instead of being influenced by their words, come see for yourself. And to those that believe they didn’t receive good service or good food or to those who made the claim for waiting for hours and then walking out, you’re all a bunch of whining cry-babies; entitled, bratty, and spoiled rotten to the core. Go read Dr. Piper’s blog, «This is not a Day Care. It’s a University!,» about entitled people, and that’s you. As for the nice folks at Buffalo Bill’s, continue the march with your excellent food and service. I salute you…

Raw buffalo burger. Yum… My wife ordered a buffalo burger here, and the center was very very very raw. It made her sick, and she is currently in the bathroom throwing up as I write this review.

Hi Michelle. Thank you for your professional response. A prime example of how our experience was in your«restaurant» I would have much rather preferred McDonalds. Most«business owners» would find a way to rectify the situation. Not become defensive one not one but SEVERAL customers experience a very similar situation, including the table right next to us. I hope this is simply a coaching experience for you and your team, and your daughter to learn to take an order before making eye contact with a table several times with no water and closed menus. Bravo, Michelle, just bravo. Soups and such was a much more pleasant experience. Again I thank you for wasting your time attacking your customers as opposed to finding a resolution. P. S. I expect your business to close in the next few years. Warm regards,

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to try one of their buffalo bison burgers the dining room was not that packed they had three servers I’m not sure how many cooks we ordered the tuna melt and one buffalo burger and we waited for one hour we asked. The waitress how much longer our food would be and she said let me check on it real quick and she came back and said all they are putting it together right now. 10 more minutes a lapse and we decided that we will walk out and did and found another place to eat. Customer service here it is a zero and they probably have one cook in the back. Our waitress was the owners daughter and then I have an idea what was going on and someone else had to take our order. Literally the common basic order cook and deliver method at this restaurant is all backwards and needs to be reevaluated not sure how it is still in business maybe because it is one of three restaurants in this town. Go to a restaurant called soups and such amazing customer service and great food. ** UPDATE** Read all the bad reviews and note the immature and pitiful replies from the«business owner». Its so funny to read and laugh about. I share the replies on my blog and the amount of hits it gets is amazing. Honesty sometimes cant settle with people. Correct your failing dining room and hire another cook and don’t put your new employee in training on a so called«busy» holiday. oh and hire a trained chef that knows how to mise en place.(coming from an actual chef) That’s Business 101 lady. 3 stars all the way!!! keep up the great work please. It shows.

Inedible… disgusting… not food… Dont know how to describe this disaster. First of all, I like Julian. Ive been to this place a long time ago. I was scouting a group trip one weekend and decided to revisit. I put my name on the list and noticed there was a party of two and a party of three before me. I asked how long the wait was. «just a few minutes the lady says» 20 minutes later, I ask how much longer. «just a few more minutes» 15 minutes after. Just checking in «we are cleaning off a table for you over there» 20 minutes later(and I was watching my clock since I coudnt be there forever. It took an HOUR to be seated when we were told it would take a few minutes. We ordered right away. 20 minutes later asked how long the food would take. we were told ten minutes. half an hour later we got our food… thats right, we were there almost TWOHOURS before we even got our food… The food was gross. The burger was burned, dry and covered in bbq sauce to camoflauge the burger. The onion rings looked done on the outside but had batter dripping out on the inside. The waitress never came back to check on us so yea… i ate half my burger and asked for the check which took another 20 minutes. Long story short, food quality is sub parr, service was nice but reaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly sloooooooooow… Customer service after I told the waitress how bad the food was. She didnt offer me anything else or do anything about the bill which was kinda pricey.

Anita(my wife) and I both loved the fact that Buffalo Bills was so close to the Gold Rush hotel in Julian where we’re staying. And there was live music. What a treat!!! And then the service and food were great!!! I can’t wait to try the rest of their new dinner menu. What a great excuse to go there again!!!

My friend order the chicken BBQ, gets and I order the ¼ buffalo stars the meet had an after taste like old, the first time the waitress brought to my table and uncooked burger, she was nice to make me another one when I mention it to her, this time was well done, but the meet taste like it wasold, the fries were uncooked that’s one of the reasons I gave this place 3 stars don’t get me wrong service was excellent this place used to be good, every year I will stop for a burger, but this time I did not like the flavor at all, I hope it was the chef.

Quaint little family style restaurant. We got the Buffalo burger and it was very tasty. The french fries weren’t plain like one would expect, they actually had some flavor to them. The potato salad is made fresh and very delicious. Highly recommend coming here for lunch. Seating is limited inside. There is outdoor seating, but I probably not a good idea during winter.

The family took a day trip to Julian and were looking for a local restaurant to have lunch. Surprisingly I didn’t think that the town would be so crowded but on this Saturday Julian was PACKED! There were lines at a lot of the restaurants on the main street and so we stumbled upon Buffalo Bills while walking up one of the side streets. A small family run restaurant. Luckily, we just had to wait a few minutes to be seated on this crazy busy day. If you have a big party there really isn’t much space for a party of 6 or more but they can accommodate for a bigger party but there will probably be a wait. The restaurant itself is pretty cozy with a few booths and outdoor seating. They have the buffalo head inside hanging on the wall! The menu itself is pretty American traditional: Burgers, fries, sandwiches… etc… You can order the infamous Julian apple cider here! Service here is ok. I’ve got to say that I do love family run businesses because you see the interaction of family towards each other and towards the customers. I felt a little bit of tension between the mother/daughter duo. I mean it made us feel a little bit uncomfortable since they were kind of raising their voices at each other in the middle of the restaurant. So i just wanted them to feel like we do appreciate their service. The food came out quickly which was great because we were starving but I’m not sure if the fries are frozen because they tasted kind of dry? I asked for mayo and it came with pieces of tomato and lettuce in it but it wasn’t a big deal to me but it might be to others just because of the presentation may not be appealing. Their onion rings though are AMAZING! HUGE! I should have ordered their burger with the onion rings because as that bad boy was passing by me I salivated! All in all it was a decent experience. A little bit pricey in my opinion but I mean it’s a small town so I feel like that’s expected. Depending on what you’re craving check out the Buffalo Bills menu to see if they have anything that will satisfy your hunger!

Made a trip to Julian recently to celebrate with my Niece(23rd BDay) and family. 11 of us converged at Buffalo Bills right about noon this Weds. I wasn’t sure how this would work in such a tiny place but, my family comes here for the Buffalo Burgers. We were welcomed with no issues or hesitation, they pushed a bunch of small tables together and made it work for us. Service was great, attentive and pleasant the whole way through. I had the Tuna Melt with Potato salad, both were obviously fresh made and really good. Large portions too. Most of my family ordered some version of the Buffalo Burger. As I remember it everyone clean their plates pretty well. Really nice first stop on our day trip to Julian.

I have been here before, and had decent food. When walking up, we noted there was a public notice for a liquor license. My friend noted that this is usually a good indication that the business has exchanged ownership. Inquiry to the waiter confirmed that there was a new owner since the last time we were there. I ordered fish and chips, my friend a chicken caesar salad. We order a round of jalapeño poppers to start. The fish and chips: cold fries, fish that could best be described as TV dinner quality, and black crud clinging to the fish and fries from an obviously poorly maintained fryer. My friend described the chicken in his salad as something that would come pre-seasoned and cooked, and you just defrost it. The salad was nothing memorable either, like something poured out of a bag. The poppers were Costco quality at best. OK, the horrible meal out of the way. We did inquire about the apple pie, as Julian is known for that. The waiter indicated that Buffalo Bills was the only place in town that actually used Julian apples, and that all the other places were in effect a sham. And, I did have a good piece of pie there in the past. Well, the pieces of pie were that in name only. These were not slices, they were mangled pieces. The crust had not a bit of crustiness to it, instead being soggy and nasty. After we left, my friend wondered if anything is actually cooked there as it was so bad. Could it all be just taken out of packages and reheated? I don’t think so, there must be a fryer somewhere but I don’t think they could have done worse if they would have tried.
