What an awesome place! If you like birds, then you must stop here! They got all kind of stuff plus knicks and knacks for your home, yard. We purchased some stuff, some requiring staff assistance and they were available, helpful and pleasant thus the 5 star rating given here.

When in Julian, this is one of my «must see» shop stops. They have lots of bird-related feeders and food. I prefer their selections to that of Home Depot or Wal-Mart because they have the largest humming bird feeder I’ve ever seen. In addition to bird food, they have wind chimes, stained glass art, garden accessories, books on birds and birding, and other trinkets and knick knacks. They also have their own parking lot, a rare commodity in that area.

This store is awesome. If you like nic nacks, bird watching stuff, large variety of bird feeders, things for the home and yard this is your place. It’s very whimsical inside. Love it. Outside the store there’s a lot of hummingbirds that stop by to visit the feeders. Great place for the family.

I’m a dork for birds. When I lived up here, I had very little do but sit around and stare at birds all day. I bought a bunch of bird feeders and started collecting some of the more unique ones. I even bought bird calls so I could stalk wild turkeys and summon their predators out of sheer boredom. I put my speakers up to my windows and played mating calls to attract wild animals. That’s how boring it is for a teenager with no car. Was that better than being a bored rural teenager who did a lot of drugs? Debatable. I’ve yet to see another place with such an impressive collection of birding items. After many of my ceramic bird feeders were destroyed in a storm, I was unable to find anything as beautiful as what The Birdwatcher carries.

The Birdwatcher is a lovely store that needs more business. It’s a bit hokey but their prices on trinkets are much better than the other shops. It’s a great place to find gifts for the bird lover in your life. I bought myself a two pack of shot glasses for $ 7 and later saw the exact same two pack at another shop for $ 10. I also bought thick $ 7 socks with rubber duckies on them BECAUSE I CAN. I believe I am still too young to wear some of the dowdy clothes they carry but the aprons are awesome. The shop people are friendly and the shop itself is spacious so shopping is easier than in the other Julian shops. I didn’t experience any stellar customer service, but that’s okay because I just wanted to be left alone to browse and that’s what I got. If you have a bird lover in your life and want some Dudley’s bread and Julian Apple Pie, make a day trip up here and take care of your gift shopping.

This is a fun store off the main drag in Julian. They have lots of cute kitschy stuff and a whole section dedicated to bird feeders, food, books, etc. I always find something cute I can’t live without!

Lots of «cute» things, took a picture of the«Dr. Seuss» houses. You can also get practical things like bird feed, binoculars and owl-shaped change purses(made in China though): I saw an Audubon book about butterflies. I was hoping to see one on birds, maybe I just didn’t look hard enough.

The Birdwatcher is a great shop for bird fans, just off Main St. in Julian. We stopped in while walking into town and in no time I found a few gifts for my parents, who already have several bird feeders at their house. This large store includes everything from bird-related cards and gifts through 25lb bags of bird feed. I picked up a windsock with moving wings for dad and some jewelry for mom.
