The venue is comfy picnic style — the food is 2 die for. Best crab leg ever! I really enjoyed this so much. A must enjoy spot!

This is a late review from our trip in late July but thought this place deserved a review(so better late than never). Although this place is touristy, located right near where the cruise ships dock, it’s definitely worth the trip. Crabs were fresh, sweet and tasted amazing. Lots of choices for the seafood eater no choices for a non-seafood eater, but why come here then! Ordered the bisque over rice, scampi and of course the bucket. The bucket is definitely more than enough for four people. Restaurant gets pretty crowded where the line can wrap around the corner. But don’t be intimidated, it goes by pretty quick since they have it down. Pricey but it’s Alaskan crab and it’s so damn good.

Oh Tracy’s, you really made our Alaskan trip really memorable! Between me and my sister we tried our hardest to wolf down a whole bucket of crab legs. It was SO good! Meaty, sweet, hot, and fresh, I have never had such delicious crab legs before. The sides were also delicious without being overwhelming. People stared at us in disbelief — so much food for two small women. Stare all they want, because I was Queens of the crabs and proud of it!

The tourist price tag makes it hard for me to really like Tracy’s. Had I also not had some really really awesome Dungeness crab the day before, I may have been more wow-ed. We came here on our Juneau stop for a few reasons: convenient location to the port, recommendations from Unilocal and a Juneau local, and the lure of enormous picture-worthy crab legs. We did not encounter a long ordering line and it took a reasonable time to receive our order. The seating is first come, first serve and the turnover makes it easy to snag a seat. The food: –Crab shack combo = 1 king crab leg, 4 crab cakes, 18oz bisque, 2 garlic rolls with butter. The crab cakes and garlic rolls are fillers and forgettable. The crab leg was impressive and did live up to my expectations. The bisque was good as well. –Alaskan sea scallops with cream sauce over jasmine rice. Most of this appetizer was rice(more filler). The sea scallops had a good taste, but I definitely wanted more of them. The prices: Expect each crab leg to run about $ 25. We figured the combo would be a better deal, but just stick to crab legs and the bisque. Tracy’s scores a 9⁄10 on the tourist trap scale. If I haven’t scared you away, at least know that you should come here on a half full stomach so as not to be sorely disappointed and ripped off.

We have gone on an Alaskan Boat Cruise twice in the past four years and if there is one place that stands out among the food places we have gone to, Tracy’s King Crab Shack in Juneau has excellent and out of this world Seafood that can be quite pricey but who the hell cares? When i’m on vacation, i want to eat the best and at Tracy’s King Crab Shack, they have one of the best Lobster Bisque’s that i have ever eaten. On our first visit to Juneau on our Alaskan Boat Cruise, we went to the Mendenhall Glacier Park and our tour bus was dropping us off in downtown Juneau. We asked the tour guide where we could get some really good seafood and this was one of the places she mentioned. Well let’s just say out experience here at Tracy’s was so memorable we made sure on our second Alaskan Boat Cruise that this would be our first place we would go to and we were about to cry because they were no longer in that spot we ate at last time. But because this place has gotten so popular, they moved to a bigger location to accommodate the throngs of people that disembark from the Cruise Ships to walk around Juneau. This place does some crazy business when the ships are in town. Everything from the Lobster Bisque to the Crab Cakes to the Alaskan King Crab Legs were just unbelievably good. Did i even mention that the hot rolls that they serve with the Lobster Bisque are too die for as well? After eating all that food on the Cruise Ship, they have nothing that comes close to this. This is comfort food for me even though i’m from Hawaii. I wish i could have eaten everything that they have on the menu because i know it’s probably mind blowing as well. So for all of those people who are on Cruise Ship’s and disembark in Juneau, make sure you make Tracy’s King Crab Shack a food stop on your way back to the Cruise Ship. You won’t be disappointed…

Hands down, Tracy’s is my favorite place to eat in Juneau on a sunny day. Best food in town. Everything is fantastic. The bisque, the crab cakes, the rolls and especially the crab legs are amazing! The portions are generous and the staff is excellent. Love me some Tracy’s! Yum yum.

WOW — this place is A-MAZE-ING. If you are reading this review you are most likely on an Alaskan cruise and looking for decent food. This place is terrific. Super friendly staff, HUGE crab legs, great slaw, really nice covered outdoor pick nick groove, and more.

All I had was the crab bisque because I was looking for something quick. I ordered and sat down looking over the wharf & water. The crab legs looked very appealing, but not in the plans. The bisque came quickly and with a buttered roll. It hit the spot.

We were encouraged to try this place by a friend who had recently been to Juneau. It is hard to miss, as it’s located literally right on the pier at which our ship docked. Well organized in terms of moving the long line pretty expeditiously, and the food was great. Delicious crab legs, cakes and bisque. A little spendy but yummy.

I lost track of the number of people who recommended Tracy’s Crab Shack during my trip to Alaska. Not going to lie, this place gives off a touristy vibe. You’ll most likely see the gift shop first before seeing the ordering stand behind on the deck. After ordering, head to an empty table and wait for a server to call your name and where you’re from(you tell them this when you order). The wait takes a while so be prepared. If this is your first time, you have to get the King Crab leg. $ 24 may feel like a lot but when you take that first bite of crab you’re going to be happy you spent that money. Tracy’s Crab Shack has the juicest and sweetest crab legs! We also got the shareable mini crab cakes which were piping hot. Check this place out at least once to understand the hype! The crab is really good. The cons: long wait and pricey. Note: there’s only one place to order your food but it’ll be pretty clear with all the signs

King crab legs. Fresh. Sweet. Juicy. Deliciousness. We were on a Norwegian cruise and had a stop at Juneau. Stopped by Tracy’s for Alaskan king crab legs. We had our doubt, because it is located at a tourist area. But you had to have Alaskan crab in Alaska. Tracy’s has good Unilocal review. So here we went. SOOO glad we did. The crab legs were hot, sweet and juicy. We were full before we started eating and we wanted more crab legs after we eat. Wish we had more stomach room to eat more. So if you have an opportunity to try Tracy’s king crab shack, please do try their crab legs. You will understand what I mean.

This is essentially just a tourist trap for people coming off the cruise ships. Be aware that King Crab is NOT fresh in the Juneau area — it comes from about 900 miles away so if they’re selling you ‘Alaskan King Crab’ then it’s frozen, same as you get at home. Tracy’s is indeed serving frozen, not fresh, crab. It’s an outdoor stand, you walk up and order and then grab a seat along long shared benches under a tent/tarp. Don’t get me wrong, the crab was good, but it is crab, how bad could it be? They are certainly not ‘crab legs the size of your arm’. They are king crab legs, but they are small for king crab, and especially small for $ 40 for a single leg. We also had the coconut crab cakes. Nothing at all special. Again they were not BAD per se, but it was $ 15 for 8 – 9 pieces about the size of a little breakfast hash brown bite. I wouldn’t go back.

Tracy’s combo(any of them), can’t lose with that one. I believe we ordered the first one which came with crab bisque, crab cake, and one crab leg. By no means is this cheap, the order was $ 45 not including taxes I presume. But… Holy smokes, this was the best crab I’ve ever had… like ever! The crab bisque was everything and everything I would want ever! It tasted fresh, crabby and savory. I never wanted to finish it. The crab cakes were alright. In retrospect I’m sure it was delicious as well, but I think when you’re comparing it to a juicy tender big chunk of meet crab leg, it’s going to seem inferior. I’ve never eaten so much crab meet in one bite before. I was so happy I didn’t think I would ever be able to eat small crabs again. Alaskan King Crab? Best crab ever!

A high class picnic This place is pricey, but you get what you pay for. We each got the #1, which was a cup of bisque(delicious), four crab cakes(delicious), some rolls(meh), and a huuuuuge king crab leg(delicious) all for about $ 35. We showed up a few minutes before they opened and there were already a few people in line. You really have to be in an adventurous mood when you eat here, though, because the atmosphere really is just one step up from a picnic. Their dining area is just a bunch of picnic tables under an awning with plastic sides that do a poor job of keeping out the wind. Add to that the fact that your food is served on a sheet of butcher paper and that your utensils are a shell cracker and a plastic spoon, you realize that this is definitely the most expensive informal meal you’ve ever eaten.

I went on a cruise to Alaska and Juneau was one of the ports. I heard about this spot through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. It’s near the docks and you enter their retail shop. Then there’s a shack where you order. You give them your name and where you’re from, so when the food is already they call out your name and location and deliver the food to your table. Next to the shack is another shack where they prepare and cook up the food. And next to that are plenty of picnic tables. They are known for their king crab legs, but I was too lazy to tackle them. I went with the Alaskan crab roll($ 18.95) instead. It has steamed king and snow crab with coleslaw on top. I wasn’t a big fan of the crab roll. It still had some crab shells in it. Not sure if it’s suppose to be like that because the crab rolls I had doesn’t have shells. I still prefer lobster rolls.

I will forever dream about king crab legs from Tracy’s! The famous Tracy’s King Crab Shack was at the top of our list of places to eat in Juneau. I was a happy camper eating here. The line to order looks long but it doesn’t take very long to get through. AND trust me, it’s definitely worth the wait. There are picnic tables set up on the left and right of the order and cooking shacks in the center. There is alot of seating with a good rotation of people leaving. You’ll always find a seat. They have several people delivering orders. They will call out your name and match the receipts. Sauces and crab crackers are brought out with every meal so don’t worry about looking for them. I ordered the Crab Shack Combo which included 1 king crab leg, 4 crab cakes, crab bisque and rolls. I know what you’re thinking… only 1 crab leg? Well, this was one of the largest I’ve seen. Once you crack that baby open you’ll find so much sweet crab meat it’ll shock you. You can always order an extra crab leg if you have a huge appetite. The crab bisque was filled with so much crab meat as well. It has a fantastic flavor which I still dream about. The crab cakes may be smaller but the quality of crab used along with the spicy dipping sauce made these one of my favorites! Are they the best crab legs I’ve eaten? Absolutely.

After a wonderful day of whale watching we HAD to stop at Tracys for some crab. Tracy’s is located right on the dock where the ships park. We were on Holland America and were parked right in front of Tracy’s. This was by far the best meal of the entire cruise! We got there about 6:00PM and the wait was about 15 minutes to order and 30 minutes to get your food. We ordered the crab shack combo which is a king crab leg, 4 crab cakes, crab bisque and garlic rolls and butter. The king crab was the best I have ever had, so sweet and delicious. The crab cakes and bisque were good but the crab was the highlight. The rolls were hard but with the rest of the meal being so good it didn’t matter. There can be a long wait and it is expensive(over $ 100 for the 2 of us), but it is absolutely worth it. We regret not ordering more before we left. If you are in Juneau do not miss Tracy’s!

By far the BEST crab I’ve ever had. We stopped in Juneau on our cruise and the best thing we did was eat at Tracy’s. I HIGHLY recommend you eat something here… but especially one of those crabby legs. My husband and I shared a platter that comes with one leg, bisque, crab cakes, and some rolls. And I also ordered the crab roll sandwich. Everything was incredible. Best food I had on the whole trip. Do not skip over this place. It’s pricey but you will not regret it! Especially if you are a crab lover. No butter needed. Just eat that crab meat.

LOVEIT! I’ve eaten hear numerous times and the food is fantastic. The experience is fun. The wait can be long! They’ve upgraded to a new building and have improved service and retail with the new space. They’re growing for a reason: the best crab, bisque, cakes, sandwiches, and biscuits in town. BIGLEGS served hot with butter, cakes come with great sauces. Mouth is watering writing this. The staff works hard, and is polite and friendly. I’m coming back every chance I get.

This is the perfect stop after a long hike and ice climb on Mendenhall Glacier. It may seem a bit pricey, but there is definitely good value in the food. The $ 44-ish menu gives you a king crab leg and claw, so you get to try both textures of meat. It also come with two fresh rolls that I was way too full to eat. The crab is steamed when ordered, and they make a cut down the length of the pieces, so it’s very easy to get the meat out of it. This is fresh crab, not previously frozen. You can tell from the firm texture and sweetness of the meat.
