Disclosure: I’m not from the area and have no emotional attachment. That may impact my review. Was in the area because of work. I had a few hours between home visits and due to the Unilocal reviews decided of this place, that and the fact that there’s not much else in the area. Saw the reviews for«The Legendary» or whatever the hell its called. Decided to order that. Nice lady taking my order ask if I wanted to make it a combo, sure, why not. So a sandwich, fries and a drink. $ 15, FIFTEENDOLLARS! Are you kidding me?! I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Get my food, sandwich looks pretty but I’m not seeing the monetary value in that. Taste it and boy was I very underwhelmed. Ciabatta bread from Costco, a slice of Kraft singles, cold cuts from who knows where and the ranch/mayo hybrid that’s the secret sauce. Not happy about this costing $ 15. GTFOH! Sandwich looked better than it tasted. Sorry Jurupa Valley but I’m sure there a better hidden gems in your great city. This one isn’t it.

The staff was very friendly, and they have a nicely varied menu including breakfast dishes, bagels, a variety of tantalizing sandwiches, and even some stir fry. I got a bacon cheeseburger, and it was quite good – much better than fast food, or any of the chain places. That said, it wasn’t very big, and it cost around $ 6.50, which I found to be excessive for what I got. While I waited, the waitress brought out a couple of orders of the chicken fried rice, and that is something I will definitely try next time as it smelled delicious. But my wait needs to be mentioned: I arrived around lunchtime, it is true, but the place wasn’t packed, and yet I still had to wait more than 20 minutes for my burger. I found that to be unacceptable. I will go back – the food was tasty, and I like supporting mom-and-pop restaurants. Next time, however, I will call my order in ahead of time. The wait was too long.

Went there today with my best friend after work, we both got carne Asada fries they were so good! Highly recommend! Fries were fresh and the carne Asada was nice and warm just perfect enough to melt the cheese! Only thing missing was some ranch, yum! Will be back soon!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant out for some time now. So since I was craving a deli sandwhich I decided to make the drive before work. I got the turkey pesto and added cheese. I wanted provolone but they were out. Talked to the the owner(I believe) the whole time. She is definitely passionate about the food they use saying how good everything is. The pesto Sandwhich was everything i wanted it to be very delicious. The French fries with the combo were equally as great. Only 4 stars because they are a little on the pricey side. The Sandwhich was 7.99 but to upgrade to combo was an additional $ 3.99. That’s a little bit much. I would go back but only if in the area.

Sooo good! Had the turkey club with avocado. Toasted ciabatta bread was fresh and soft, plenty of turkey, very very tasty. Came with excellent crispy seasoned fries. Really the best sandwich in town. A little more expensive than average, and I did have to wait a bit because they make everything fresh to order. Still worth it!

Hands down, the best carne asada fries I’ve ever had! The Legend sandwich was also spot-on, and the drinks were good.

My review is based ONLY on getting one of their«shakes». Since I ordered an avocado shake and I expected it to be creamy(since avocados have a creamy texture). This definitely was not that. It was a little icy. Not only that, it tastes NOTHING like avocado. It tastes like milk and powder? I’m guessing they use a powder mixture in their shakes? I don’t know, but it wasn’t good. I only drank a few sips of it and had to toss it. Definitely will not order a shake from here again.

Phil’s café is a hidden gem for sure. Just check right behind the circle K gas station. Once we arrived we were treated like the most important customer to walk in the door. Kelly was very friendly and provided top knotch customer service. She made us feel at home. The food was fantastic as well. Me and my girlfriend split«The Lengend» which is turkey, roast beef, ham, tomato, bacon, lettuce, and avocado on ciabatta bread. It was amazing. We also got a burger with a friend egg, bacon, and cheese. It was juicy, and melted in your mouth! There are seats outside for a nice night like tonight which made the experience better. They have something for everyone; burgers, Mexican food, boba, teriyaki plates, and more! Give this place a try! We will be back for sure!

At first glance, the place may seem a little unassuming, just a small café off the freeway next to a gas station in Riverside — a true hole in the wall. Walking in, you might be a little overwhelmed by the menu — its got a ton of variety. They offer made to order burgers, over 15 different sandwiches, Asian main dishes, milkshakes, coffees, teas, and there’s probably even more that I’m forgetting. I was tempted to try the sandwiches, particularly one named«the Legend». This is probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. This masterpiece is stuffed with roast beef, ham, and turkey topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, red onions and cheese in between, all on top of some perfectly toasted ciabatta bread covered in garlic aioli. Also had the pleasure of trying some other dishes, including their beef skewers, fries, and chicken and vegetable stir fry(forgot the actual name of the dish). They were all good as well, especially the fries which were perfectly crispy and season. However, the Legend sandwich is definitely what I’d come back for. The owners were also generous enough to give me a milkshake in the house — a half taro half Thai tea concoction that actually tastes even better than it sounds. Their boba was a little funky though as it’s a lot less chewy than I’m used to(might’ve been from the coldness of the milkshake).

Parking lot is small, they have a lot of crap in the back of their lot, but I was on the bike, fits anywhere. I had the turkey club. Wife had the turkey pesto. Both were good. Both were on ciabatta bread. We sat on the patio in the front, I little noisy from the traffic on mission.

Stopped in for breakfast — place was completely empty inside, but I guess we missed the earlier morning rush. Cashier was super friendly and outgoing. She was energetic and personable. We put in our order and waited for about 15 minutes or so, which wasn’t too bad given everything was made to order. However, I was not totally impressed with the food. I ordered the roasted red pepper pesto turkey sandwich. I was disappointed since the«roasted red pepper pesto» was a single thing instead of just a roasted red bell pepper and then pesto. This«sauce» of sorts of underwhelming and was the only reason I ordered the sandwich. Then the turkey helping was enormous. That can be good and bad, but certainly the sandwich size is NY Deli sized to epic proportions. You almost need to eat half and save the other half for lunch. The biggest letdown, however, was the bread. It tasted chewy like it had been microwaved or was stale. With the sauces on the sandwich, it was soggy on the inside and chewy/tough on the outside. Upon biting in, the massive piled high turkey wanted to slide out and make a mess. I would suggest the sandwich be done more of a panini style with crunchy bread exterior and real roasted bell peppers and real pesto instead of the homemade sauce. I would decrease the amount of deli turkey to make way for roasted bell pepper chunks.

Second time coming to Phil’s. A coworker brought me here after her findings through Unilocal.I’ve lived near here in years past and I always passed up this place. It’s rather small and off the side of a desolate country looking road. My very first visit, I had the Roasted Red Bell Pepper Pesto Sandwich and fries. The sandwich is served hot bursting with flavor! I love caramelized onions! Fries are seasoned and crispy… you can’t just have one. This time I ordered the Chicken Pesto sandwich. I was looking forward to a hot chicken breast filet on ciabatta but got sliced chicken deli meat. Nonetheless the sandwich was flavorful and fresh. Added the avocado(extra charge). The prices are rather high for lunch; you can easily pay $ 10 – 11 per person/combo. But the sandwiches are pretty large and worth the cost if you’re not on a tight budget. If you go on your lunch hour, be prepared for a little wait. If it’s not busy, your order is up between 10 – 15 minutes; more if they’re busy. I’ve seen two people working at the most; one cook and one order taker. So as my coworker suggested, call your order in advanced so you’re not rushed to eat and run. Staff has been pleasant as well. Don’t be shy & leave tip$; they deserve it :) I’d recommend((two thumbs up))

haven’t been here for a while – was driving right past so I decided to stop for lunch. What happened??? Has this place changed hands? Ordered a turkey melt and I SWEAR the ciabatta, turkey LUNCHMEAT and American cheese were slapped together and microwaved! Took 2 bites and left it on the table, finished my drink and left. The sandwich was AWFUL!

Thank you Unilocal for leading me here! This place is a true hidden gem. Yes it’s literally in the middle of nowhere but if you happen to venture out to BFE, Phil’s is a must. The turkey club sandwich was bomb dot com and I can’t wait to try others! Fresh ingredients, delicious food and awesome service!
