Absolutely the worst food we ever had in 45 years!!! Seriously crap! Complained to the waiter and he could give a shit. $ 22 for the worst tasting nachos ever and super small portions even tho our server said the portions were enough to share. Could not get the rancid taste out of our mouths. One of us got a burger for $ 18 and it went straight into the trash along with the nachos. After dropping $ 60 on a nacho, hamburger and a rubbery slice of cheescake we all went next door to Burger King. Over priced hospital food at best! Sammy Haggar should be horrified his name is on this restaurant and maybe he should come try his food! DONOTEATHERE! Would give it zero stars if available!

In the Hawaiian Airlines terminal this is one of the only restaurants to go to at the Maui airport. I had a 2.5 hour layover, so needed a place to hang out for awhile. I first sat at the bar, but there was nowhere to charge my phone so then went to the main dining area by the window. It is nice that all the tables by the window have a plug-in, but that’s pretty much the only positive here. When I sat down at the dining area — where you seat yourself, I sat there for a good 15 minutes until I(!!!) waved down the server and asked to see a menu. The entire time she had been passing by me from both tables on either side of me and other tables nearby. It was ridiculous. I thought that an appetizer and drink would be nice for the time being, but then I saw the prices and it was bogus. I know airport food is always more expensive, but I couldn’t muster paying 20 bucks for nachos. I mean I thought about it — but with the help of Unilocalers I decided to skip out on the food here. There’s a reason for the low stars. It’s cool that this is Sammy Hagar’s restaurant, but it doesn’t justify the prices. I decided to just get a Mai Tai since it was my last restaurant in Hawaii, but it was too sweet and a waste of 12 bucks. The server never even checked in on me the entire time I sat there during my layover. Again, I, had to wave her down and ask for the check, which I immediately gave her my credit card right then and there because I didn’t want to take my chances for having to wait so long.

Server messed up our order and tried to serve us something we didnt order. Service is slow since the place is rather crowded. Didnt order drinks since the Unilocal reviews seemed pretty bad. The loco moco was good though and it was large enough for 2 people to share.

I’ve had some mediocre to pretty darn impressive food at airports. Im usually pleasantly surprised or at least received what I’ve expected. Probably one of the worst airport restaurants I’ve visited. Over-cooked shrimp on their tacos and the Kicked Up Fries appetizer is not kicked up at all. Plain fries with a few crumbs of cheese and two pieces of sage stems. I had to double check with the waitress to see if she had brought me the right fries. She told me there were garlic cloves probably at the bottom of the cone shaped wire basket. I asked where was the cheese and sage? She took it back to the kitchen where the fry cook sprinkled a little cheese on top of the now cold fries and a clove of roasted garlic. The waitress did take the $ 9 fries off the bill when she asked if I did not like them after I turned down a to go box. On a side note: The Maui airport has gone downhill over the years. It is very dirty and needs a serious update and scrubbing.

Barbara at the bar was incredibly rude to me. She whispered about last call and I waited patiently until she looked at me but she just ignored me. When I finally spoke up she yelled at me and said rude things. Everyone at the bar was staring in shock and all on my side. I pride myself on my manners and was blown away by her treatment.

Nice place but didn’t stay long enough for meal. Pomegranate Mojito’s mint was under muddled so I had to finish it up with straw to reach perfection

Five stars because this place deserves some mercy. Quick and pleasant breakfast. The bartender was very friendly and our server was fast. Food was above average for an airport meal. $ 35 for two people isn’t cheap, but it’s an airport in Hawaii, so what do you expect?

I would love to have written a review but because I was never acknowledged by any of the three severs working in the area where I was sitting I left. I even had to grab a menu for myself from the register. What is up with this place? I have heard many good things about this place bit I was treated with complete disrespect. No one said hello. I had to seat myself. The place was half full. Plenty of seating. Much of the tables there were even in the process of vacating the tables. I am no slouch. I am properly dressed for my 25 minute flight. Seriously? ??? You guys need to gwt your act together. I don’t even want to give you one star because u You don’t deserve even that.

This place is totally fine. I’m honestly taken aback by some of the hyperbole about the prices– really?! $ 15 entrée in an airport restaurant is that bad? Making me feel like Daddy Warbucks here. Anyway the food was fine, service was fine– it was all fine. Sheeeeesh.

You can’t expect too much from an airport restaurant other than inflated drink prices. This place doesn’t disappoint if you keep your expectations low. Bartender was a bit of a douche and took forever to cash us out even tho there were only two other customers. The drink was ok but weak.

I’ve been to some of the best and worst restaurants in America and this one isn’t the worst. At all. Although the the service is slow it is sweet and genuine. There are maybe 2 servers, 1 bartender, and 1 busboy for the whole place. Our server took a while to get to our table bc she was literally cleaning the floor in her section… That’s management making a decision to(unfortunately) understaff. The food was shockingly good! Better than we thought from the reviews. I’d rather have great food and mediocre service, personally. I do wish this airport had more options though. In the end, this place caters to ppl from all walks of life. It’s clear that this place isn’t a world class stop on your trip to Maui but it’s a nice little place for a not so quick bite.

My husband and I went to this spot for lunch. Our waiter was very attentive and responsive. We shared the Loco Moco breakfast and enjoyed every bit of it. We also had lime chili wings and yum!!! Not too greasy. Everyone here is so laid back. I like the chill atmosphere.

I wanted to like this place but I just cant. The waitress was nice but the food was über-meh. The fiesta salad was more like a bad study group and my husband said the chicken on his cesar salad was«weird». The margarita was good though. Maybe I should’ve have had 2 or 3 of them so I could’ve enjoyed the food.

I like Sammy Hagar, but not so sure about his restaurant. It was ok, but kind of pricy for mediocre. The biggest issue was the slow servide. I do not blame our waitress who was killing herself, but clearly they short of staff. Airport restaurants need to be quick. The food was fine. I had steak with eggs. It was a healthy portion. My favorite part was the hash browns. The steak was fine, although the seasoning was odd. Then the eggs were ok, but oddly small. If you have time in Maui airpory it might be worth eating here, but not if you are in a rush.

Came in because we had 30 min to kill .our waitress greeted us so we thought we were going to have fast service. nope we waited 15 before I went to the bar to order our drinks. bartender was extremely rude and said where’s your waitress! ugh if I knew I wouldn’t be here ordering my own drinks. Good luck to the person who thinks that they are getting good service. Sammy Hagar needs to hire new friendlier employees or make frequent visits to his bar/beach grill whatever you want to call it #undercoverboss #extremelydirtyfloorsfood

Portions are very small. Even the drinks. The head on the beer probably equalled the additional amount we upgraded our beers for. Awful… highway robbery!

Just paid $ 9 for plain fries, nothing on them… Because our waitress charged us for their«Kicked Up» fries which includes cheese on them(can’t eat dairy)… That’s just a major fail. 60 bucks for 3 flimsy drinks and an order of unsalted fries? No offense to servers out there but 15% minimum tip isn’t applying on situations like this.

If you don’t know who Sammy Hagar is, Sammy Hagar makes sure you do. I should’ve taken the slideshow of photos of Sammy and Guy Fieri as a sign, or the biography of him on the menu, or maybe the photo of him on the front of the menu… but I didn’t. I just wanted some alcohol and some sort of fried potato, and I didn’t think I had the be picky. But you’re probably reading this because you went through a similar situation than we went through, and thought«what the hell are the reviews for this place?» We started by seating ourselves as recommended by a sign, and we waited. And waited. Until finally someone acknowledged us and haphazardly threw menus our way. Our waitress definitely wasn’t going to waste energy on us. Besides all the clear narcissistic tendencies all over the menu, the second thing I noticed were the cocktails. What the hell did they do to these poor staple drinks?! These were drinks I’d expect to come out of the glass of an 18 year old girl at her first house party. Weird, sweet mixtures that I’m sure were created so the drinker thinks«wow I can’t feel any alcohol in this!» Because there isn’t any. The menu doesn’t have fries, but it has these super loaded fries that our stomachs did not want to have anything to do with 30 minutes before our 5 hour flight. So we order regular fries and two beers. The beers came out to some weird total that I’m sure was an exact profit margin they wanted to receive… and the kicker? We get our fries and the check… the fries were $ 9. More expensive than a beer?! What?! They charged us for the stupid loaded fries minus all the toppings… I might as well have asked for the toppings on the side and made some kind of sandwich to go or something. I’d say go anywhere else but this place, but it’s probably too late. A little piece of Sammy Hagar will be with you foreveeeeeeeer.

I don’t get the negative reviews here. First off, in the Maui airport, not too many spots are air-conditioned. I, for one, appreciated finding a cold spot to chill while we waited for our flight. Secondly, I thought the Kobe burger we had was really tasty. Best I’ve ever had? No, but pretty good for airport food. Third, what Sammy Hagar is doing here is fantastic! Kudos to him for helping children’s charities in Maui. That right there is a great reason to eat here, because if you’re visiting Maui and you have received the aloha spirit here, why not give it back? Prices are higher here because you’re giving to children’s charities. And lastly, I enjoyed reading the history of this place while waiting for our food. Stories about celebs giving back are always moving and inspiring. We’ll definitely look for Sammy’s when we return to Maui.

Why do airport restaurants have to be so bad? I hate leaving a 2 star review but in this case it’s warranted. Ordered the pomegranate mojito. At 14.99 they could at least strain the mint out. The fiesta salad with cumin lime vinaigrette was 14.49. The mixed greens, avocado, tomato and beans(black and garbanzo) were fresh. The dressing was the worst dressing I’ve ever had. I can honestly say that it’s the only bad dressing I’ve ever had. It tasted like equal parts lime juice, vinegar and cumin and left a terrible aftertaste. Pros: Sit-down service and a full bar. Server was good. Cons: the food wasn’t that good, especially for the price. Save your money and go to Burger King.
