Food is decent but does depend on the day you go as the menus change. The Portuguese sausage and fingerling potatoes are very good on Thursday mornings. Overall, the staff is nice and this is conveniently located in the hotel. For the price, the choices and quality of food isn’t up to par.

Worst $ 25 I have ever spent. Service was fine, but the buffet was rarely stocked, and consisted of a bunch of random things thrown together. Not worth your money. Worth the drive into town to a good breakfast.

The Sheraton runs promos often that bundle comped breakfast buffet with your stay. That makes coming here super convenient and worth the little extra to do this package deal. If you wanted breakfast outside the hotel, it’s limited choices and a bit of a drive. However, the price tag for this buffet is quite hefty and NOT worth the big bucks($ 25.95) if paying out of pocket. The staff is quite friendly and attentive. The buffet is self serve but the waitress comes by and quickly removes your finished plates and refills coffee. Our girl was on it! The buffet included: Fruit station w/papaya, fruit salad(pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon) and lime wedges. Several yogurt flavors with granola Cereal and breads section with croissants, bagels and toast. Numerous cereals and milk but bowls that don’t work so well to be cereal bowls.(I used the soup bowl.) Then the main buffet line of white/brown rice, bacon, sausage, chicken sausage with mango, potatoes, pancakes(maple and coconut syrup), steel cut oatmeal, miso soup, and scrambled eggs. Orange and guava juice. After your done eating they bring the bill and you tip on top. Usually at buffets there’s no tip because it’s self serve. So just a heads up they expect the 18% gratuity. Pass if your paying out of pocket, decent if included with the room package.

When on business trips, I deal with the meh breakfasts at the hotels I stay at. When in Hawaii, I usually eat at local spots outside the resorts I stay at. Going against that paradigm was a mistake. Yes, this spot has dope views. Yes, this spot is close to your room if you don’t want to drive anywhere on the Big Island. …but…that’s all the positives I can give this place. The food was mediocre, not representative of Hawaiian fare. Mahalo? Sorry brah.

This place is convenient, as we were staying at the hotel. Best breakfast ever? No. Decent hotel breakfast? Sure. Overpriced buffet? Well, yeah. At $ 22.99 a head, you’re looking at something not cheap, so you better get your fill. The fruit was fresh, the omelet station was good, and there were decent options. I think it’s a little disingenuous of them to expect us to tip here when the waiters aren’t actually waiting on us. But my water and coffee were kept full, so they were doing something I suppose. The positives are that the restaurant is beautiful — big open lanai with birds fluttering through and views of the grounds. It isn’t the best place I’ve eaten on the island but that’s ok. If you’re looking to not leave your hotel and you’ve got a big appetite, it’s the place to be.

Ok so our last day on the island, we just figure go to the buffet at the hotel since we didn’t want to drive anywhere. The price is high, I mean for continental you don’t get much so we did the full for $ 24.99 per person. The food had some variety but it was all very sloppy the way it was made. I really regret going to the buffet. Also, the service was eh so we didn’t leave a big tip. Just a few bucks because we do all the work as well. What they decided to do was add a couple extra bucks to their tip. I didn’t bother fighting it since it’s only $ 2 but I mean really? It was clearly written on the receipt. That’s rude and not professional at all. If I were you, eat at the café near the pool or leave for some good Hawaiian island food.

The setting of this restaurant is beautiful. It’s clean, bright, airy, comfortable. The staff were very friendly and our server was prompt. Five star goes for those elements. The food, however, was another story. My husband and I took a mini-vacation to Kona from Hilo and was staying at the Outrigger Kanaloa condos. There is free self-parking. The only reason we tried breakfast at this restaurant was because the Activities director at our condo resort told us about the 25% discount offered to Aloha card holders. It is the same rate as the kama’aina discount. We did get the 25% discount but even with that, I still felt we paid too much for the food. At $ 24.95 per person, the food left a lot to be desired. The drink station included guava and pineapple juices, tea, and water. You can ask the waitress to bring you coffee. I asked for hot cocoa. There was a continental breakfast area to the left with some fruits. There was, however, no toaster. I thought there was a waffle station, too, but didn’t find that. I did ask our server. She looked embarrassed but asked what we needed to toast. I wanted some bagels. I waited for several minutes for them but she brought them to me freshly toasted. As mentioned by other reviewers, there is an omelet station. You pick your ingredients and the cook makes your eggs how you want it. There was poached eggs in a creamy spinach sauce that was a special for that time. It was okay. It wasn’t for us. The bacon, scrambled eggs, and Portuguese sausages were ok. There was corn beef hash that my husband ate but didn’t enjoy very much. I liked the fish and the purple sweet potato. I did get seconds for those. The food, though on warmers, were cold. Check your itemized bill. A percentage for tip is included. We added a little more in cash since we really did like our server. Overall, I wouldn’t eat here again unless I was staying here and it was included with my room rate. I would rather spend the $ 25 for something really nice for dinner or on some wine to drink by an oceanside pool.

This is in line with my «Sheraton Kona has the worst food I had during my month in Hawaii» chain of reviews. It was a topic of shared frustration among last nights pool guests I interacted with. Hopefully, Sheraton will eventually listen and get the food quality and value on par with the rest of the resort features! So as for breakfast here, the reviewer who stated that breakfast was free with his room so it was worth every penny was right on. Do not pay for breakfast here! At $ 25pp you will likely regret it! The worst part is that they have a decent variety of items and it had real potential, but every item I’ve tried off of the buffet has been COLD! Bleh. I’ve had breakfast here 6 days now and it didn’t matter what day or time I showed up. Bacon– cold. Sausage — cold. Thai fish — cold. Moco loco– cold. And no toaster for the bread and bagels– so cold there too. And oh yeah– the one day there was salmon and cream cheese the only bagels were cinnamon raisin! Really? The only potential for hot food is the omelette station which is ok depending on the cook that day.

Just at the south end of Kona in the Keahou Bay, fantastic view from the dining lanai. Both had the buffet; everything was fresh, coffee was excellent, service was extremely friendly and professional, clean tables, beautiful interior and the grounds are gorgeous with nice paths to stroll off those buffet calories. Had a very nice time, highly recommend.

I’ve had better. For the price($ 25 per person) there should be a bigger, fresher assortment of food, but instead it was all standard– french toast, scrambled eggs, cereal, bacon, and potatoes. The real standout is the ‘Custom Egg Station,’ but with only one person making the special orders like omelettes, it will take a while. Get your omelette first and then the sides, otherwise they will get cold. Birds fly in and out of the restaurant, which is a cute ambiance, but since birds can be dirty an poop everywhere, I wasn’t really amused. Honestly, this would be a great breakfast if it was $ 10 cheaper. Don’t spend your money.

This restaurant/buffet is located inside the Sheraton resort and caters mostly to the guests who eat breakfast here for free included with their stay. I’m pretty sure they just serve breakfast and dinner for special occasions. We ate here for their christmas eve buffet as well as breakfast on our final day at the resort. This place is worth what most people pay to eat here, not much. Breakfast: Sure there was quite a variety of things to have from tasteless eggs and off tasting Portuguese sausage to limp french toast and make your own waffles(which was the best thing we had IMO). There was an omelet station that looked decent but the wait was not worth«eat». Kids eat«free» but at 20 bones per adult I would have to say that you need to bring kids to make up for the up-charge on adults because no breakfast buffet is worth 20 dollars. Christmas eve dinner: 50 per person, includes coffee and tea(YES!!!, lame) The only word that comes to mind when I think about this dinner is Amateur. The menu sounded like it could have been good but it seems a 13 year old cooked it all. The execution was something I might have done in High School. Charcuterie does not equal roast pork with orange syrup btw. All together very disappointing. Bottom line_______Save your money or time if it was included with the room and go try one of the local places out for breakfast. I highly recommend up country café, we thoroughly enjoyed that place and the owners were the best!
