We had a wonderful experience here! We were not staying at the resort. I’m not sure what the price difference may be, but ours included a shell leigh, a copy of the picture they take as you walk in(which came out beautiful) and gratuity. The show was great, music was wonderful and the host was just lovely! I highly recommend this luau if you’re going to be on the big island! And thank you to everyone involved at the Sheraton Resort, cooks, waitstaff all crew, performers. Everyone! We had a wonderful time!

We went to this Luau on the Big Island and it was pretty fun! Lots of different food to try. Loved the chicken soup and kalua pork! Definitely my favorites. The purple potatoe salad was different. Taro adds color to everything! The mai thais were tasty and it is open bar until the show starts. I really liked the MC… she made the show. Super engaging and entertaining. I also loved the dancers and the fire show. I would recommend checking out a show. It is touristy but still fun.

Amazing show. Everyone from my 7 year old son with special needs, up through my mother enjoyed. Right speed of show, excellent variety of Polynesian cultures represented. Good food, open bar, and with the upgraded seating our seats were right in front of the stage. With the kids I think the upgrade was totally worth every penny.

Came here with family on the second to last night of our trip, after a recommendation from a friend and pretty much just to check it off the bucket list. We got the normal seating(not«preferred»), but got there early and were basically right up there. The evening started out with«activities» during which we could go to stations and learn how to twirl toy«fire knives» and poi balls from the performers. There was also a tattoo station and body stamp station. I was lucky enough to be one of the first to the tattoo station, which had the longest line. This was my favorite part of the night. Had a nice chat with Kamu(sorry if i’m butchering the spelling =X) about our trip and about what its like as a Kona native and local as he drew a pretty sick tribal design on my arm. He was super down to earth and friendly, definitely seemed like an awesome dude to grab a beer with =P. Afterwards, we were allowed to hit the buffet table. There was a pretty good selection of hawaiian foods, highlighted by kalua pork, decent poke for a luau package, soy sauce glazed beef, and some tasty desserts. The food was decent, but nothing really special. It seemed just like a «alright heres the food, we’ll start in a bit» type deal. The open bar while limited to pretty much just beer, wine, and Mai Tais, was appreciated. The Mai Tais were pretty good, better than I was expecting. The entertainment started with about 1:15 — 1:30 left in the 3 hour scheduled event. Overall, I think the singing and dance performances were really good. The host’s singing could have been better, and a couple of the jokes/teasing by the«lead» performer was a little awkward at one or two moments, but overall very entertaining, engaging, and funny. All in all, a very good time and I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a good time it was. For me, they nailed the performances/entertainment. The food is where they JUST missed 5 stars. Maybe if it was given more attention/introduction/hype that would change, but its a(pretty high) 4 for now. Would recommend for sure =), you’ll have a good time!

Dancing/Performance: 3 Stars Food: 2 Stars The Luau was moved indoors due to rain in the forecast, and that means we got to have a Luau in a conference room(which was really cheesy). The Luau started with a woman saying a Christian prayer for the meal and then they dismissed us table by table to walk through the buffet. The buffet food itself was mediocre, but the main problem that we had was that they ran out of food! When it came time for dessert they only had a little of one item left. The staff were scrambling to put something out and brought in a yellow box cake. We really appreciated the effort, but this even was clearly not planned well, and the execution left much to be desired. The drinks at the bar were very watered down. After 5 Mai Tai’s we were wondering if they were virgin drinks. Overall, for a $ 100/pp meal and entertainment this Luau left MUCH to be desired. Save your money and go out to a nice Hawaiian restaurant.
