Several years ago we ate at Killer Tacos on Oahu. It was so good, so we knew we had to have it when we visited the big island. The food is simple, but good. I would definitely go here again.

Lived here almost 2 years and finally hit Killer Tacos. Always heard Good Things. We were across the street getting our hair done. The staff orders take out there a lot. We decided this is the day we will finally try it. On the Mainland you have Chipotle which we would eat at least 2 sometimes 3xs a Week… Chipotle has THEBESTGUACAMOLEHANDSDOWN. They allow you to ask for a little more and don’t blink an eye. I was looking forward to my Pork Longboard Spinach Burrito w sour cream & guac, black beans, cheese, rice and Medium sauce. My Wife got the Veggie Wheat Burrito w Habanero sauce. We took our order to go as there were no seats and line was almost out the door. We opened our burritos. mine was pure Pig… NOSOURCREAMANDNOGUACANDNOOOOOCHEESE… little black beans and rice. They were changing bowls of everything while making our burritos and I think the girl forgot what she was making. The Veggie Burrito consisted of LETTUCE… NOVEGGIES. BLACKBEANSANDRICE. We don’t live close so we didn’t drive back to show them. We both ate half and threw those burritos AWAY. THEWORST. OH and did I mention my spinach burrito was left in steamer while girl was re filling bins. When she took off steamer it was so thin and ripped while making. UGHHHSODISAPPOINTEDSINCEOURFRIENDSALLLOVEIT. I EVENLEFTTIPINJARWHEN Aunty gave me change and said I owe you a penny… I said I’m putting it all in the tip jar. 98 cents. Since I wasn’t thrilled seeing my forgotten steamed burrito and now NOGUACORSOURCREAMORCHEESE. Won’t Be Back… Darn It.

I’ve been coming here for years. Killer Taco is always our first stop when we arrive on the Island. The restaurant is clean, the service is fast and the price is fair.

Simple menu, good pork hardshell tacos in a no frills location. Place is filled with locals, which is usually a good sign. Prices are cheap for Kona. We stopped in while waiting for our laundry at Tyke’s. If you are looking for decent, cheap food in Kona, this is the place.

We got fish, pork and chicken tacos for lunch and they were great. It’s a bit like a funky Chipotle where the person who takes your order hand makes your meal with various choices. We are in Kona for 11 more days and will definitely go back.

Hometown favorite… the best in Kona and everything is delicious! If you are visiting and its your first visit, ask the ‘crew’ for recommendations because portions are VERY generous!

Veggie burrito and it was yummy! Prices were very reasonble and the flavorful ingredients. Service was nice and super fast, even with a bit of a line. Remember to bring your cash too… no credit/debit cards. Plus it’s an easy stop to & from the airport.

Killer Taco was phenomenal for several reasons. The food was fast, it was affordable, and it was DELICIOUS! I had the quesadilla with Kahlua pork, and a side of rice and refried beans to go with. If you like plenty of cheese(as I do!) this will be a great option. Not to mention a massive portion. I had half a tortilla layered with scrumptious pork and melted cheese, encased in another perfectly grilled tortilla. They also have several tortilla options, including tomato and spinach. The spinach was particularly nice, and made me feel like I could at least pretend to be healthy while devouring what seemed like ½ lb. of cheese. Ultimately, this is a perfect place for either loading up calories before the active beach time, or replenishing your energy after spending all day frolicking with the turtles on the white sandy beaches. An absolute must.

Okay. Mexican food in Hawaii will not be close or better than Mexican food in California or Mexico. However, this place is decent. The chips(3.99) did not taste homemade– but from Costco. Salsa was pretty good. I got the hard shelled taco special(2 tacos and a medium drink for 5.99) and that was pretty decent. I shared it with my husband. Go here for cheap and fast Mexican food. But would not come here on a day to day basis. Only when we are doing laundry. Customer service is alright. Would’ve been nice to get a smile or something. For a meal for two for roughly 10.00– you pay for what you get :)

As hyperbolic as this sounds, this is THEBEST burrito I’ve ever had. Hands down. I had a moment with this burrito. You know it’s good when you take a bite and close your eyes to fully savor the food. We picked up food to go out first time and loved it so much we went back for lunch the next day. Seems to be busier during lunch. The food was so good, have I mentioned that yet? Personally I ordered the longboard burrito with kalua pork and refried beans. They have a few different tortilla options and I tried the spinach, it was pretty indistinguishable between all the other flavors. It was a nice soft chewy consistency though and I’m sure any tortilla(white, wheat, spinach, sundries tomato) would be great. For all the reasons to return to Hawaii, Killer Tacos is one of the top reasons!

I love me some fish tacos. After reading reviews and seeing plenty of cars with Killer Tacos stickers, I had to check this place out. It did not disappoint! This cash-only establishment located in a strip mall was bumpin’ with butts in most of the available seats and a decent line to order. By the time you pay, your order is ready as they make everything right in front of you at the counter. The menu had plenty of options, but I came here for the tacos, so that is what I got. Fish tacos in Hawaii for only 3 bucks a piece! Pork and other meats are slightly cheaper. I liked the one pork taco I ordered, but the fish tacos had me back in line ordering more… a lot more. The tacos themselves are relatively simple, but the combination of the fish, sauce, and minimal toppings melt in your mouth creating a savory fusion that you won’t forget. I’m quite a stickler with my 5-star ratings, but the addicting tacos and non-inflated prices make me want to recommend this spot to everyone.

I’ll first qualify this review by stating that I normally reside in the metropolitan area of Phoenix. We traveled to Kona as part of a business function. As a result of living in AZ, I am routinely exposed to authentic Mexican food. Killer Taco made both me & my stomach smile. I had the Longboard Burrito with Big Island Kulua pig wrapped in a spinach tortilla. It was very big and oh so very good. My girl ordered the Fish Burrito and I almost stole it from her when she allowed me to have a small bite. This place is good. Real good.

Killer Tacos is just ok, there are better taquerias in Kona. Our favorite place is Patricios. We had 2 burritos at Killer Tacos the other day. Mine was a regular(shortboard) pork burrito and my friend had a super(longboard) chicken burrito both with black beans. The burritos were average, nothing special. No salsa bar and no free chips.

Locals sent us to this industrial area for cheaper tacos. Good food great prices. Lunch special– two tacos(your choice chicken, kaluha pork or beef) and a large drink $ 5.29 Just a small simple place

This location is better than the Hale’iwa outpost. The servers are a little more friendly. A bit tough to find, as it’s in an industrial area, but don’t let that scare you off. The Taco Salad is a massive portion of food. Small crispy tortilla shell, loads of impossibly-thinly-shredded lettuce, salsa, cheese, and your choice of protein(get the kalua pig) spilling out across the tray. The lunch taco deal(2 tacos of your choice and a drink for $ 5) is a good value. Your choices from bean, pig, beef, or chicken. All are tasty; I usually do one pig, one chicken, plus a side of refried beans. My one complaint is that if the taco-crafters don’t drain the scoop of meat, the juices make the tacos soggy and unnecessarily messy. But then I guess you’re not going for elegance with tacos. We lunch here at least a couple times whenever we’re on the Big Island.
