Vivint Solar

They come to your home when it’s dark to talk to you… That’s kinda shady in my books.

My husband allowed Vivint to install Solar on our house. I was hesitant, but I let him handle it. Big mistake. They didn’t show up the first day they were scheduled. We had cancelled plans to be out of town for them to come. When we finally reached them, they said they had loaded up the truck and then realized they hadn’t ordered all of the parts to do the installation, so they just didn’t come. They have a phone, so I don’t know why they couldn’t call.
The day they finally showed up, they started drilling trial holes in my roof every couple of feet all the way through the roof so I could see sky while I was laying in bed. I ran outside and asked them to stop, and thy said they had to drill the pilot holes to see where our beams were in order to attach the panels to the beams. They also said completely missing the beams and having sawdust flying all over our house was normal. I asked them if it was normal, why they couldn’t tell me that ahead of time so I could cover our bed with a tarp or something. They said the salesperson was supposed to tell me that. He did not. I would have remembered that.
After tearing up our roof and thrashing our inside beams, they installed the panels. When I asked when someone was going to fix all of the holes in our roof, they said someone would come the next day. They did not. They came a few days later. Luckily it did not rain in the meantime.
We still have a hole in our roof so when it rains, water streams into our bedroom right next to our bed. We can not fix it because it is over a beam from the inside, but under a panel on the outside. Now our ceiling is just rotting away and we can’t sleep while its raining because we can hear the water streaming into the buckets next to our bed.
Do NOT use these people no matter how good the deal sounds. Warn your neighbors and family. Friends don’t let friends use Vivint Solar.
