Great food and staff, they have owned the restaurant for 20+ years. Nice owners, fast service, I had the number #1 two days in a row. So good.

Aikahi Park shopping shopping center’s management is being very manini by not allowing parents of Aikahi elementary students to park for 15 minutes while they pick up their child.

The businesses here just don’t seem to last. There is a very high turnover for the restaurants that are here. I’m not sure why but I’m guessing its poor management. I certainly hope that the three new restaurants that have or are in the process of opening(Boston’s Pizza, Daichi Ramen and Gyataku) will survive. I am also disappointed with how this shopping center treats its neighbors. There is a huge parking lot at the back that is never used and parents used to park there for less than 20 minutes to run across the road to pick up their children from Aikahi Elem School. The management locked the back gate and now the parking lot stands empty while the street behind is jammed with cars. This was not a smart move by the Aikahi Shopping Center management and many parents have decided not to shop at Aikahi Shopping Center because of this

This was once a great place to visit, when they had the Aikahi Theaters, and has seen its share of new editions that have come and gone(Gracie Jiu-Jitsu studios, Diamond Video). I love the Tamura’s Liquor store, and go there just for their wonderful poke. On occasion, this shopping center will feature a shrimp truck or lunch wagon, which offers a nice change of pace. This is the only Sizzler on the windward side, so we visit this shopping center for their yummy buffet.

I don’t go to this shopping center too often. BUT I do like this shopping center BECAUSE it has Tamura’s (: AND Willow Tree . Two VERY great places to go.

On one recent weekend, I went holo holo to Kailua and Kaneohe from downtown Honolulu and rode da #52 bus and came through Kailua. I was getting hungry and stopped off by this strip mall they call a shopping center at Aikahi Park. I have never been to this place, but I have heard decent things about this place. While the stores here are quite an interesting mix, I decided not to get anything major here, since I could wait till I hit up Kaneohe on the next bus. I did stop by Burger King to get a large soda since I was thirsty and forgot to check in on my Unilocal app. I do note that the Safeway here is as comparable to the ones in town that I frequent. I saw that there is the L&L Barbeque and the Willow Tree on the property for your enjoyment. Also on property is the gas station. There’s also the Navy Credit union and the Bank of Hawaii for your banking needs. The parking here is quite ample, although it can be noted that the property is small, so the lot is decent too. I don’t shop here at all, but I can come by here once a month just to get some spice of variety and change of pace, when locations in urban Honolulu won’t do it for me anymore. The Chapel on property kind of stood out to me, since I haven’t seen that in a shopping mall before. The property is situated along the bus line, so it’s a good pitstop if you are here in Kailua or on your way to Kaneohe or other parts of the island for a day of sand, surf, or whatevas.
