OMG, this place has delicious food! Fresh fish with a nice aoli sauce was the special, and my wife had the chicken picatta that was excellent. appetizer was the famous french onion soup, and dessert was home-​made blueberry cheesecake! Scrumdiliumptious!

I got the egg plants Parmesan with a Caesar salad it totally rocks. We have some amazing music that is happening right now. Dinner is everything I wanted and more. Can’t wait for the desserts they look amazing we saw one on another table and really wanting to check that one out.

This review is for this visit only. We come here kind of frequently but I often forget to check in or leave my phone at home.
We went back to Bella Bistro for dinner and I was craving their lamb shank before we left the house.
Unfortunately they were out of lamb that night. My second favorite entrée also happens to be the least expensive entrée, the Alfredo Campanella which I like to get a side of meatballs with so that’s what I ordered and my wife had one of the nights specials, a muscles dish that she really enjoyed.
We started off with stuffed mushrooms, that were tasty. a menu replacement for the sherry mushrooms which I actually liked better. We also got the crab cakes that my wife really likes.
We got their delicious French onion soup and I had a Caesar salad before our entrees.
We enjoyed everything including the service but I dropped from five to four stars because I was really craving the lamb shank which is a regular menu item not a special and they were out of it all night.
I will return as we both like the people and the food. I was told to call ahead to see if they have the lamb shank.

There is something special about their Greek salad … And the cheesecake not to mention friendly staff also. I would totally recommend it to everyone who is looking for a small, quiet place :)

I really appreciate a chef who takes pride in his food. The hubby and I came for a late dinner. Lovely wait staff here. The hubs ordered steak, I ordered scallops. All went well… then the excellence happened.
I was informed that the dinners were ready, but the chef discovered sub par scallops were delivered… and about to be served! He informed our server that he would not let the scallops leave the kitchen! I went on to have a perfectly prepared salmon, and in total classy style we were comped our soup and gifted a delicious blueberry cheese cake (come and get it) on the house! Xoxo Chef!

Came in for lunch because I was on this side of the island. Very friendly and attentive staff! My servers name was Rachael and she was very pleasant and had great customer service skills. I ordered the French onion soup which was amazing, I liked the fact that they don’t put the bread in it. The soup was so flavorful and cheesy I had them box up my main dish and kept eating the soup. For my main dish I had the special it was opah, fish n chips w Caesar salad !! Ono!!! Fish cooked perfect along with shoe string homemade potato fries and fresh Caesar! Would recommend to everyone! I might even come all the way back to try the dinner menu!!!

Started with soup of the day, crab bisque. It was very good. I had the Monchong stuffed with crabmeat and served with butter-​caper sauce. Served with rice and sautéd veggies. Just wonderful and a very hefty serving of fish. Hubs had opah served Parmesan crusted with lemon butter sauce. Really excellent taste. My one small issue was the wild fowl walking around our table and eyeing us up. And then their friends the ducks showed up. I know this is open air and all but I don’t like wild birds near a kitchen or my table for that matter. Otherwise a really solid meal. Kudos to the Chef.

Bella Bistro a cute little Italian restaurant in Kailua Town next to Kaiser Kailua Clinic. Parking is located in the same area where the restaurant is. The ambiance is great. It’s open to the outdoors so you can get the nice windward breeze.
I ordered the linguine with basil and tomato sauce. The portion size was pretty big and the price was $ 12. You can pay a little more to add protein. I could only finish about half of it and felt satisfied. My husband order the Alfredo with veggies which was about $ 15. That was a good sized portion too. Our friends got the flat bread which looked really tasty also.
The food was fantastic. My linguine was cooked perfectly and the sauce was really delicious. I love having a lot of tomato sauce and they really came through with that.
The other entrees looked good too but we wanted to try and keep it simple today. We will definitely go back sometime.

I’ve been to Bella Bistro a couple times for lunch now. Each time the food is excellent and the service is very fast and friendly. They are located only about one block away from the huge Target store. The entire restaurant is an open-​air restaurant which is nice but the drawback is road noise from cars going by as they are located just off Hamakua Drive which is fairly busy. They have their own parking lot that is shared with other neighboring businesses.
My favorite thing to order at an Italian restaurant is the seafood pasta. Unfortunately, there is no seafood pasta on the lunch menu. However, Chef David was more than happy to accommodate me on both occasions. The first time he prepared a wonderful scampi Fettuccine Alfredo and the second time he prepared red sauce spaghetti with two beautiful pieces mahi mahi on the side. The first time I had a small Greek salad to accompany my pasta and the second time I had an amazing fish chowder. I’m a big eater and was very happy with the portion sizes. I can’t wait to go back for dinner soon!

Despite the waitress dropping the in need of salt butter on the ground and it splatting all over my side, I enjoyed the food our group ordered. The crab cakes are fresh and lite. The chicken Parm was amazing with that fresh zucchini salad. The NY Strip with some A1 Was done to expectation. The presentation was amazing, the food was fresh, and she didn’t mind bringing more than one loaf of bread for the table.
If in the area I would definitely come back!

A place that makes you feel like home. Starting from the glass of house Chianti to the friendly service and the fresh food. I don’t normally order chicken dish but the chicken parmasean came out amazingly juicy and moderately breaded. The daily special was monchong with pinenut pesto sauce. It’s fresh and not overcooked. I really enjoy the ambience and food that has a heart. I would highly recommend this place over any Chinese/​Vietnamese Italian restaurants (you know. which ones I am talking about!!)

I really liked this cute little Italian spot. We stopped after spending the day in Kailua. It is very small but their service is great and their food is even better. Their crab bisque was phenomenal/​My husband is pretty picky and he loved it. Our service was good and the food came out quickly. Will definitely come back when we’re in the area.

Had lunch here yesterday and I loved the food and atmosphere :) I had citrus marinated grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Chicken was juicy, bread was fresh baked and I loved their real fries! Will definitely come back.

Fresh. Friendly. Relaxing.
My four year old daughter and I truly enjoyed the fresh food offerings made by a very sweet and friendly chef. Our server was prompt, positive and helpful. The location is great with outdoor seating right next to kawainui marsh and there is ample parking.
The wine and desert made the night perfect. We will be back thank you

Small menu but good food. They have at least one vegan dish and a few vegetarian dishes that can have seasonal veggies added or proteins.
I like being able to upgrade my dish or not have to pay for proteins that I’m not going to eat but $ 5 extra for protein or veggies seemed steep.
The marinara sauce is a tad spicy and they put a lot of sauce on the pasta. I asked for my linguine with light sauce and it was perfect. The seasonal veggies included asparagus, zucchini, onions, whole mushrooms, and bell pepper.
One person in our group thought the sauce was too spicy for them. One thought the creamy pesto was bland.
Nice place to enjoy a meal outside in the coveted area. The table bread us rosemary focaccia and delicious.

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner with the girls. Immediately loved the open air ambiance of the restaurant. We started off with calamari and the chop chop salad and I ordered the chicken parmesan.
The salad was delicious as was the focaccia which is from Agnes’ bake shop. While my entrée portion was generous, I thought it was just okay. I thought the linguine had too much marinara sauce which made the pasta a little mushy. My friends loved their dishes, especially the lemon caper sauce that accompanied the chicken piccata.
For dessert, we shared the house made cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake. Both were yummy. The service here is wonderful. Great place for a relaxing meal.
