Always a good stop when visiting Kailua. Really good place to pick up shirts for people back on the mainland — a big step up from cheapy tshirts from the swap meet. Look for their deals, I’ve always had luck with ‘buy one get one half off’ or ‘2 for $X’ deals. Across the street from Boots and Kimo’s. So nice o hit up afterwards or while you’re waiting for a table.

¾ of large shop is dedicated to apparel and fashion. Small corner to right hand side has Morgan and Arakawa boards under the HIC label and handful of used boards on consignment. Staff friendly, no hard sell. Honest talk.

This store quickly became one of my favorite surf shops on the island. The reason for this is Mike! Mike is the in-house expert for all things surf. I am in the market for a surfboard, and Mike spent a great deal of time sharing his knowledge on the sport, the gear and his experiences. I didn’t feel any pressure to buy anything, although I did buy a bikini, because you can never have enough of those. I learned a lot from Mike and now feel like I am better educated on the different types of boards and what I should consider when I am looking at boards. The shop often has sidewalk sales, but their prices actually seem pretty fair. I liked their selection of clothes and bathing suits. They have really cute stuff and the guys selection of clothes is solid as well. All in all, I had a great experience and I will always look forward to coming back to the store and chatting with Mike. He is a wealth of knowledge and the store is lucky to have him on staff.

This shop has just about everything for serious water sports activities: long boards, short boards, SUP, etc. However, even the casual beach-goer will enjoy the full selection of apparel(that’s why I go there). If you’re looking for some cool Hawaiian-themed tees that are high quality, this is the place. They even have a huge selection of board shorts and casual footwear. I bought my sunglasses there that are designed for water activity and they make a big difference blocking out glare. I also purchased several decals and stickers for my truck. Usually every weekend they will have a huge tent sale on many items, they set it up right on their parking lot. There are some real bargains to be had. Even though I can’t swim, at least I can look cool while I’m chilling in Lanikai.

Came here since its right across the street from boots and kimo’s, they have a sidewalk sale… Nice selections of shorts. My concern is the girl behind the register, is she really eating yogurt while working!!!

While driving around in North Shore, I passed by Sunset Beach and saw a pro surfing competition. I noticed that Hawaiian Island Creations was one of the hosts/sponsors. So when we were eating in Kailua at Boots & Kimo’s and I saw their store was just across the street, I was stoked to check out the local surf shop and get some stuff to rock back home. In general, it seems like there’s all the famous brands like Quicksilver, Reef, Hurley, Vans, etc. I really wanted something that was Hawaiian only. For $ 20 each I got some really cool shirts and it’s not like you can just get them anywhere. The staff was chill and helpful. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for some stuff to wear in Hawaii or bring home.

This local kailua surf shop is awesome. The staff, specifically Mike in the surfboard section is awesome. He really cares about the customers and keiki. I have bought two boards from him and will not buy anywhere else or from anyone else. The latest yesterday for my son. Thanks Mike for always lending a hand and caring. Looking forward to the surf sessions this summer.

We were in Kailua for the day and wanted to find a local surf shop and HIC happened to be right next to where we were eating. Let me preface this by saying I am not a surfer nor do i know much about surf equipment. I am merely a tourist looking for a few items to remember my trip by and for that HIC was perfect. They have a great selection of items across a variety of brands. The staff there was very nice and helpful granted we weren’t in need of anything to complicated. If you are in the area and in need or some surf gear or just want to pick up a shirt, HIC is your place.

The tale of two brothers. Waiting for a table at Boots and Kimo’s, I walked in. Did a quick run through. Didn’t buy anything. My brother, the more personable of the two. Not only walks out with a t-shirt, but recommendations for some of the most awesome restaurants in town. Friendly, hospitable staff? Awesome. Friendly people. Good memories. Cool t-shirt.

A great store with cool employees. Not the hugest selection in terms of apparel, but plenty of equipment to look through. They had a couple of deals going on, that their employee Mike pointed out to me. With a little coupon from the«Oahu this week» guides, was able to score 3 t shirts and a leash for about $ 50!

I went in during the street fair so they were super busy but they were still able to help me with a ding repair kit I needed. Even came out to the car to see what kind of board I had… AWESOME! Love this place!

I went in to HIC the other day and had such a nice welcoming by the staff. They were so sincere and helpful and made me feel comfortable as I looked around the store. The store has so many nice things and is set up where you want to look about the whole store! It is a hard core surf shop that hasn’t forgotten it’s roots. Thanks gang!
